Einstök Icelandic Doppelbock

Einstök Icelandic Doppelbock

This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

4.0 Dark and tasty
3.8 Delicious wintery beer with some savory, almost umami notes. Imagine a bock with the savoriness of soy sauce
3.5 Roast and a hint of smoke. Caramel. Dark maroon pour with ok initial head. Light bitter end. Decent finish. Decent for style. Some leather.
3.8 12 ounce can - $2.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. BF 30/SEP/2021. Appearance: Pours a darkened mahogany-hued body, nearly clear and topped with a finger or so of lightly yellowed froth. Smell: Well-toasted breadcrusts, dark brown sugar, a hearty brushing of toffee, a touch of earthy spice, thin sniff of booze and an aromatic jammy dark fruit note. Taste: Sweet, though not sugary, with a rich albeit even-keeled maltiness of cracklingly crisp toast, toothsome hints of brown sugar, toffee and stroop. Emerging, growing fruitiness of prune, black cherry and fig. Low, light herbal, woody, spicy element. Minimal alcohol presence. A little roast and cocoa peeking out near the finish. Closes out malty, everso slightly warming and even a bit drying. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Smooth with a touch of richness. Overall: Nice. Delivered those D-bock tastes without going too sweet or too hot.
3.7 Amber pour. Sweet flavor of rye and barley. Warm finish. Nice and flavorful
3.2 Strong kibble nose. Clear rust, medium cream colored head. Kibble, with lightly sweet elderberry accents. Medium body, easy carbonation. I know it's typical of the style, but this a very dog food-like doppelbock.
3.1 Kobber klar skum brun lang Nødder malt citus korn tømmer Bitter lidt sød modrat Pile blød
4.3 Goût de chocolat 👍
3.4 12 oz can. Pours a dark brown with an off-white head. Smells of nuts and raisins. Big malt and brown bread tastes with a fizzy mouthfeel and a tart dry finish. Good doppel.
3.9 Særdeles god og velsmagende juleøl. Masser af fylde og tilpas bitterhed. Indbydende aroma.
3.4 Pale deep amber pour with a thin beige head and some spots of lacing .... aroma of caramel malts, roasted malts, chocolate and dark fruits .... taste is of chewy caramel malts, chocolate, roasted malts and dark fruits .... tad sweet for the style .... malty finish with lingering chocolate .... decent to the style but a little sweet
3.4 Bouteille 33cl couleur ambrée brune mousse beige, goût caramel, épices, herbacée, légèrement sucrée, sympa
3.0 Can. Pours hazy copper with a large thick beige head. Malty aroma with artificial chocolate and caramel notes. Taste follows aroma with some brown bread. Not sure what style this is, but wouldn't classify as a doppelbock.
3.6 Bevuta in bottiglia da 33. Aroma brusco da vinaccia, leggermente dolce. Lievemente tostato. Colore bruno. Schiuma discreta a bolle grosse. Gusto bock non troppo dolce. fPr
4.0 Brown color with a medium off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Caramel malts, some roasted malts, raisins, and chocolate.
3.8 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.7%. Deep ruby colour, large beige head. Malty aroma, notes of bakery, caramel and brown bread. Malty flavour too, moderately sweet, notes of caramel, Danish pastry and brown bread, hints of chocolate. Modest hops, as expected from the style. This is more of a Dark Bock than a Doppelbock, though. Nice to drink, whatever you call it.
3.0 Bottle. Pours clear dark brown - almost black with medium offwhite head. Aroma is malt, rye bread (øllebrød), malt syrup and prunes. Taste is very sweet, light bitter and light acidic. Body is oily with fizzy carbonation. Finish is medum long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, rye, milk chocolate and bread.
3.4 Pours a horehound color with a eggshell colored head. Carmel and dried prune nose and flavors.
3.6 Bottle at home. Pours deep brown with no head. Nose is sweet, toasted and nutty malts, some honey. Taste is nuts, toasted notes, low fruits, light boozy touch. Medium sweet finish, light to medium body, soft carbo.
