Eisenbahn Lust

Eisenbahn Lust

Eisenbahn Lust is the first beer in Brazil produced by the "champnoise" method. After the normal fermentation and maturation in the brewery, the liquid is sent to a winery, where it stays for three months and passes by the traditional process of champagne production. It has fruit aroma and refreshing flavor. Presents fine and plentiful "perlage". It is ideal as appetizer and for pairing with dessert and great celebrations!

3.1 Cloudy golden pour with lots of floaties and a thin white head. The aroma and flavor is sweet and yeasty over a light body with gentle carbonation. Not bad, but definitely not memorable.
1.4 Bottle at Peter’s 2nd annual spring gathering. This was just horrible. Bottle was definitely infected, enormously large head and a hell of a gusher. Spicy funk and infections on the nose. Utterly nasty. Only beer of the day that I literally ran to the sink to spit out.
3.1 Taste at PilsnerPeter’s 2nd Annual Gathering Gushed everywhere. Gold with a white head. Alcohol, bubblegum, and lemon rule the nose. Sweeter flavor of lemon and honey, some light yeast. Thin, zesty body highlights the rather weak profile, and there’s too much contrast between the nose and the flavor. The sweetness doesn’t help either.
3.5 Bottle from New Beer. This one was a gusher and eventually poured a vibrant bronze with loads of fizzy head. Aroma of bubblegum, hay, and lemon. Flavor is lemon, barnyard, yeast, bubblegum phenols, and pine hops. I really like the champagne feel with the Belgian notes. Light but sharp body. Basically an average Belgian with a mouthfeel that’s a nice change of pace.
3.4 Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s RBSG 2010. Bottle may have been infected. Crazy amount of fizz when opened. Still it’s a good beer. Pours apricot orange. Nose is fermented fruits and light spice. Taste is apricots and golden wheat.
3.5 750ml bottle, caged and corked. 2006 vintage. There was a loud ’pop’ when the cork was removed, but no gush. Poured a slightly hazy light orange color. The head was fizzy and white with good retention. There was a bit of tattered lace on the glass at the end. Smelled of subdued spices, especially clove, white pepper, and cinnamon. There was also a whiff of fleshy fruit ala apricot and red apple. Medium bodied and sweet. Carbonation was on the higher end of the spectrum at champagne levels. Tasted predominantly of honey, pale malt, vanilla and clove.
3.7 fizzy huge off white head. excellent lacing. mostly diminishing. sparkling thin dark yellow body. aroma: moderate hoppy, apple, pineapple, white wine and alcohol. if: light bitter and sweet. ff: heavy sweet and moderate bitter; long duration. palate: light medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation and metallic finish. mesmo sem agitar, espuma em excesso saiu da garrafa sem pagar, perdendo bastante líquido, forte gosto de vinho branco, MUITO menos adocicada que a prestige; dulçor de uva branca Nota: 280 Skol
3.7 2006 bottle, 750mL, shared with my lovely wife for Valentine’s day. First thing’s first.. this should not have required a corkscrew.. 2nd.. IT BROKE MY CORKSCREW!! I had to extract the cork using a vise. Poured effervescent medium orange with a dense cap of off-white head and light sediment in there. The aroma picked up white vinous notes, pears, and green apple over a touch of honey and more fruity meat backing.. slight notes of dish soap and warm alcohol on the back. The flavor opened with tartness from the heavy carbonation and some spicy yeast.. honey and bready sweetness supported.. green apples and white grapes found their way into all facets of the drink and paired well with spicy boozage and banana-ey yeast on the finish. Medium-plus bodied and exceptionally carbonated on the palate.. warming and well-balanced.. this was a very good brew.
3.9 Sharing a bottle with Ughsmash for Valentine’s Day. Really, really hard to open, but a good satisfying pop when it did. Poured very bubbly with thick head. Pretty golden, orangey color with visible carbonation. Smells like citrus and champagne. Has a bit of a sour flavor with a touch of alcohol. The palate is not as fizzy as I anticipated. Fun to drink for a special occasion.
4.1 750 ml with a 2007 cork. Gusher has a huge head of meringue that endures well. Butterscotch body with lots of small particles and bubbles. Fruity nose of cinnamon apples, sharp citrus and resin is tempered just a bit by some earthy funky yeast. Smooth, rich flavor of earthy spices, brandied light fruit, slight clove-banana, peppery citrus zest and resin. Shows a touch of alcohol, but it is not overpowering and adds more depth of flavor. Medium body is smooth and dangerously drinkable. Expensive, but pleasantly surprised by this one.
3.6 Yellow pour with a never ending head that gushed...small champagne bubbles. Aroma is fruity, apples, green grapes, some sweet malt. Flavor is soft and fruity...very unique "beer"
4.1 The beer pops loud with a strong head rush. The bartender had to rush it to the glass. The beer looks beautiful with a thick hazy golden color and obviously a thick head. The beer is very loud. The aroma hits me with brett (plenty of haystack and barnyard). There is a nice honey aspect behind that. The combo of the two make me think they will keep aging nicely. Its similar in the flavor. The mouthfeel is very spritz-y, bubbling and tickling the tongue and cheeks. I want to try this in 3-5 years. 750mL bottle @ the Ginger Man, date 2008 stamped on the back (I am guessing BB), served in a large wine glass.
4.4 Pours golden with an amber hue and a full thick creamy head that reduces slowly and sits there like a pancake. Aromas of stonefruit and minerals. Full and luscious on the tongue with creamy effers. This is a wonderful beer exhibiting primarily peach, apricot and nectarine essence with banana bread, a bit of minerality and brisk acidity to balance. The finish lingers. There is a defined sweetness with a touch of caramel.
4.2 very loud pop on a 2006 caged and corked bottle that was a slow gusher. pours a deep beige with a cloudy amber body and a tall thick lumpy head that was beige in color. the aromas are soft and a little fruity with light fruits. the head did not want to fall. there is also a lot of yeast in the nose and some pale malt. light bodied and very bubbly but yet so smooth across the tongue. thick and sticky lacing was produced and holds well to the glass. the flavors are really balanced and the alcohol content was hidden beauitfuly. i taste white wine grapes, ripe apples, slight sugar and a bread like taste that is really enjoyable. the finish is as dry as dry can get and the aftertaste is smooth and really mice with almost a hint of caramel.
3.8 Dark orange caramel color. Fizzy with a bubbly tight off white foam. Aroma is fruity, spicy, but a bit dulled by yeastiness. Taste is honey, pears, apricots, light spiciness.
3.5 Bottle (small sample). Pale orange pour with a very bubbly head. Very cool concept. Fizzy foamy mouthfeel with a really nice Belgian yeast taste. Enjoyable brew.
3.5 Bottle courtesy of Daknole. Gushed like Champagne gushes. Pours a soft yellow with huge active Champagne head. Nose is band-aids, green apple soft sugary sweet fruits and grapes. Flavor is plastic, green apple sweet sugar malts. Probably past it’s prime, but pretty neat idea.
3.6 750ml Bottle (2006 Vintage. Very difficult cork removal): Complex aroma of malts, yeast, light wood, and slight fruit (apple and pear). Poured amber in color with a large, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Extremely sparkling. Full of tiny and small particles throughout. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malts, yeast, slight Bamburg wood, and light caramel. Medium to full body. Viscous, coating, lightly dry texture. Lively carbonation. Malt, yeast, and hint of Bamburg wood finish is slightly dry. 11.5%ABV is completely hidden throughout.
4.3 14th June 2008. Amber coloured champagne style beer. Plenty of froth and thousands of bubbles! Whee! Delicious honeyish mango malt with a creamy crisp finish. Some other subtle fruit flavours well integrated. Lovely!
3.7 Bottle Thanks to my wonderful wife on my birthday. Shoots out a gold topped with a cream head. Plenty of foam and we wait and wait some more. Here we go the aroma was of a variety of different fruits maybe a little fruit salad along with some rich malts. Taste was more of the fruit salad, rich malts, and some sweetness. The 11.5% no way.
3.3 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange gold with a large linen white head that lasted until nearly the last sip and left considerable lace. Pleasant aroma of malt, caramel and just a bit of apple. A bit musty in the nose as well. The flavor is unfortunately somewhat oxidized with malt, caramel, apple, yeast and alcohol all present. Some moderate alcohol warmth at the finish. A bit dense in the body, which is combined with some fairly heavy carbonation. Its a shame, but this beer is tired and past its prime, and its also too expensive to try another bottle.
4.0 Plenty of frothy head and good looking carbonation,yellow/gold pour, aroma yeast strong spice, hint of floral, really pleasing smells, flavour sweet a creaminess, clove wheat like,banana,caramel/toffee fizz mix cinnamon brandy hint, well flavoured brew,Eisenbahn are doing so well, alcohol strong but tastes equal, finish sweet spicy, smooth so tasty.
3.7 2009 Bottle - Thanks Buckeyeboy! - We got a gusher, there is no doubt in my mind as to the truthiness of their claim to adding a dose of yeast to bottle condition...when the fireworks stopped, pours golden with a large head of large bubbles...aroma is a bit antiseptic at first, but opens into a nice malty, fruity nose with some toast...flavour is similar, apple, pear, dk malt, bread and consistent spice, ABV not a detractor from the enjoyment...this was a bit off at first, but came together very nicely...thanks for the share!
3.8 Large tightly beaded head on top of an almost crystal clear, orangey body. Spice on the nose as well as some rockmelon. Early initial taste was of banana which disappeared and didn’t come back, then the spice, sweet malts, a little candi sugar on a fairly round not quite complex body. Didn’t pick up the high alcohol at all. Cheers.
3.6 Pours hazy golden orange with a fizzy head that dissapears. Nose has confectionary fruit: citrus with a bit of strawberry. Palate is medium with high carbonation. There is some sweetness but carbo dries it up quite well. Finishes with a good hit of alcohol and spice, whether yeast or hop driven I’m not sure. Overall a great beer. Certainly has similarities with belg tripel. Probably pulls it off better than deus de Flanders, the only other I’ve had of this style. Was a bit too sweet, whereas this was spot on. Would have again if not for the price!
3.5 Was lucky enough to score a sample of this one. It pours golden with a lively white head. The aroma and flavour was fruit, spices and balanced with some doughy yeastiness. The alcohol is well hidden. A peppery finish. A very nice beer. (Bottle at Platform Bar, Brisbane - cheers Ian!)
3.4 Bottled. A dark golden beer with some sediment floating around under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, oranges, and peaches, as well as a light acidity. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of yeast, as well as light notes of smoke, alcohol, and over ripe peaches, leading to a dry finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.
(Rating #2342)
3.3 In short: An overly sweet (sugary honey) blonde sparkling blonde ale. Overpriced. How: Bottle 750ml. Tasting session with Montreal crew. 6+ months of age. The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a short-lived white headbr /> In long: Nose is sweet and a little grassy. Taste is sweet, too sweet. The crunchy sweetness tastes like old honey turning sugary. The little grassy/floral hops in there are not nearly enough to counterbalance the sugary sweetness. Aggressive carbonation. Alcohol is not well hidden. The shame of the of champenoise beers. An overpriced liquid called “Lust”!!! Am I the only one who thinks that the marketing dudes of Calvin Klein or Christian Dior are involved with the Eisenbahn brewery?
