3.9turbid brown copper, beige head that persists quite well. complex aroma of chocolate, caramelized banana, roasted malts. taste is sweet, fruity and slightly bitter from roasted malts. finishes smooth and warm from alcohol. excellent beer from eisenbahn!
4.2Dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is bananas, bubblegum, grapes, prunes, apples, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is bread, bananas, bubblegum, raisins, yeast, wood, hay, chocolate and light bitterness. Light sweet and bitter finish. Awesome beer, complex and tasty!
3.7355ml bottle served in an ordinary glass.
A: Pours an dark amber color forming a medium creamy yellow head. Medium retention and some lacings

M: Smooth medium body. A bit molasses. Medium carbonation
O: Easy drinking beer despite the 8% ABV. Well done Weizenbock. Another good surprise from Eisenbahn

3.0Creme denso, bege. Bem formado.
Coloração esperada: Amarelo intensa e turva.
Aroma de cravo e banana. Bastante doce.
3.2Very well balanced beer. Roasted and chocolate. Medium body. The 8.0% alcohol is very well hidden.
3.412 ounce bottle purchased at Mercado de Ponta Negra in Brazil for R$20. The aroma on this is really nice with sweet caramel, toffee, and some chocolate. Light papery oxidation, too. This was bottled in December of 2013, though, so it’s got about 7 months on it. Somewhat transparent dark amber/tobacco colored body with a smallish light tan head present. Starts with some straight tobacco and leathery flavors. Becomes very coffee-like in the middle. A bit husky with lots of melanoidins present. Finishes a bit watery. A unique beer, which is heavy on the coffee flavors. Easily the best beer I’ve had in Brazil.
3.2Aroma: Light, roasted and toffee malts meet the nose, but a little further investigation reveals some apple and slight banana. Appearance: dark cola brown with virtually no head. Flavor: Matches the nose; mostly roasted malt character up front, but lightly so and allowing for some fruity esters to come through; especially apple. Palate: Light body, slick texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: Another interesting dark colored beer from a warmer climate; a nice but different take on the style.
3.0Cor avermelhada, quase marrom. Aroma semelhante a de trigo. Sabor forte sem amargor. Desce bem.
3.5Def were going for an Aventinus clone. Fizzy head similar to Aventinus eisbock. The smell is bubblegum, banana, cocoa, and clove. Flavor is wheat, banana, dark fruits, sligth booze. This is a poor-mans Aventinus. It is a bit too thin, sweet, and unrefined.
3.7Bottle, lote 11. Pours dark maroon, with a finger thick head. Aroma is very pleasant, with chocolate, almost cake-like banana and kandi, dark fruits with prunes and raisins. Flavour is sweet with dark fruits, chocolate and kandi giving a long and nice sweet finish.
Corpo balanceado. Mais uma obra prima da Eisenbahn.
3.433cl bottle. Dark color with brownish head. Medium carbonation. Low sweetness and bitterness. Caramel, light coffee, malt.
3.6Bottle from trade with sevenlee, many thanks. Hazy dark red brown color with no head. Strong banana aroma, with yeast, hints of chocolate. Taste, wheat, banana, yeast, light tartness in background. Roasted malt with light bitterness in finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Interesting Brazilian Weizenbock.
4.1Pours a dark reddish brown with a small head. Very tangy and slightly sweet, with lots of flavor. Bread, fruit, and caramel notes.
3.3(Bottle) Pours deep mahogany brown with a small head. The aroma is a bit sweetish with notes of honey, toffee/fudge and dark bread up front. Light hoppy and fairly clean. Clovey phenols and light esters. Touch of bubble-gum. The flavour is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of toffee/fudge, spices, bread, honey and some hops. The mouthfeel is too clean/hard with a light carbonation. Brown sugary finish. Near medium bodied.
3.0Appearance: deep, dark ruby-brown, with a short tan fizzy head. Aroma: cinnamon, clove, vanilla, cherries, chocolate. Taste: dark brown bread, molasses, chocolate, clove, caramel, toffee. Finish: fading notes of spices, chewy fruit, clove, and a hint of bubblegum. Notes: As many others have noted below, decent, spicy and rich flavors, with an overly light palate. A little too sweet as well.
3.3Bottled, pours a dark muddy brown, no head, raisin and brown sugar aroma, flavor reminds me of cream of wheat with raisin and lots of buttery brown sugar, finish is syrupy caramel
3.7A very original wheat bock. Color is what crayola called ’burnt umber’ if I recall my early days right. Aroma is strange fruit, vanilla, and mocha. Taste is similar to that, with a spicy start and am aftertaste that the last reviewer pinned down as bananas. Would be very interested to see the malt used in this beer. Thin but also creamy somehow. Very good but not perfect. Plus .1 for Eisenbahn’s N. A. market artwork depicting a steam locomotive emerging from the Amazon.
3.2If you don’t like spices in your beer, beware of this one! This could easily pass as a Belgian Christmas Beer but since I know how to handle a Portuguese-French dictionary and read the back of a bottle, no more confusion is granted. In-your-face nose of cinnamomum zeylanicum (yes, yes, indeed), bananas (a lot of bananas!), cloves, cloves, cloves, cinnamon, plum jelly, bread, bubblegum, caramelized sugar, nutmeg. Mouth is more or less the same, boozy for sure, and very spicy. I got tired after I consumed half of my bottle (and as I said in a previous rating for I-don’t-remember-what-beer-and-I-don’t-care, I love spices and spicy beers!). Grosso modo, this is not a bad beer per se and, in fact, this is quite enjoyable but I would have preferred more balance in favours of wheat. Body is quite light and it’s a shame. This could be wonderful but there’s some (minor) imperfections that needs to be fixed. What do you think? I know what ryanfolty thinks but I didn’t read the previous reviews. Maybe I should before asking questions I will never get answers for? Maybe.
3.3Date: August 19, 2011 Mode: Bottle Source: BVery, Burnsville, MN Appearance: Dark brown and good amount of head. Aroma: Caramel and fruity/sweet. Flavor: Consistent with aroma, thin bodied and smooth. Other: Pretty good, though nothing really stood out to me with this one.
3.2Bottle. Dark brown reddish pour with a nice frothy white head. Aroma of caramel and fig like fruit. Taste is similar to nose and quite sweet. Smooth body. Decent.
2.4Bottle @ home. Hazy, red-brown appearance with a tan head. Quite sweet, dark roasty wheat malts, banana, cloves in the nose that’s somewhat boozy. A little thin, fairly boozy, dark roasty wheat, banana flavor. Somewhat boozy finish. The body’s a little too thin and a little too boozy for my taste.
3.1Not bad for a weizenbock, decent yeast and fruit to it, relatively thin but not bad.
3.0Dark cloudy red colour with a short lived beige head. Aroma is sweet fruity with some toffee, caramel and malt. Taste is common for weizenbock, sweet, malty and fruity. I’m usually not a fan of dark wheats but this is pretty nice.
3.2Bottle pours a thick dark murky red/brown with a thin tan head. Sweet malty scent with some wheat and fruit. Roasted malt and wheat taste. Decent
