EKU Pilsner

EKU Pilsner

A truly great Pils, a little maltier and more ‘Bavarian’ than the rest. The 6-packs are brand new for the American market.

3.6 Good example of an easy drinking pilsner. I would have appreciated more malt character, but the smoother/softer malt were good the way they were. Light fruity hops and slightly sweet character. Poured a straw/honey color and had plenty of carbonation.
2.4 500ml bottle, 4.9 % abv, shared by djoeye. Clear golden body, white head, scattered lacing. Grainy nose, hints of herbal hops. Mid-sweet grainy flavour joined by oily hops. Subdued bitterswett end. Clean in the mouth. True to the style, more or less. (PivotekaH7, Tromsø 29.01.2018).
2.3 Aroma; low aromatic malts, grass, wet bird. Look; pearl white mat, clear pale hay coloured body. Taste; pale malt, grain, grass, citric note, slightly bread notes, and finishes as pale pilsener. Feel; normal normal. Overall; easy-pils. [50cl.btl abv4.9% xp3.02.18 abseits@PivotekaH7 29jan2018] 33539
2.6 Aroma: weak notes of malt and grain Taste: malt, grain, notes of bead. Unexpectedly good taste. Moderately bitter aftertaste with trail of mal and grass hops
3.8 Bottle. Clear golden color, white foamy. Clean, refreshing flavor. Crisp finish. Light bitterness with some biscuit malts. Low hoppy notes of floral and spicy.
3.3 Can. Brilliant golg. Huge white frothy head. Light lacing. Aroma: pilsner malt, spicy hop. Light body. Medium dry taste. Clean. Rather hoppy. Medium long peppery finish. Solid Bavarian pilsner.
2.9 Sehr malzbetonter Antrunk, gute Würze, grasig frisch, ausreichend gehopft im Abgang. Trinkbares Pils aus Kulmbach.
2.5 33cl bottle. Pours clear pale gold with a creamy white head. Aroma and taste of pils malt, hay, corn, skunk notes. Light body. OK.
2.7 Clear straw colored beer with a thick foamy bright white head. Nose of tea, funk, and corn. Flavor is a bit watery and bland with some sweet cereal grain, wet cardboard, and mild musky hops. With medium carbonation and light mouth feel, this is a fairly non-descript beer.
2.1 Golden yellow pour, not much head. A little skunky on the aroma as well as the taste. Mild grain finish.
2.4 On tap at the Pour Taproom in Greenville, SC. Appearance: very light and pale golden body with a decent white head with some lacing. Aroma: weird. Stronger than expected. Unusual and hard to describe, but a bit dank. Flavor: mild but bolder than the watery appearance suggests. Hop dominated with some caramel. Feel: -light body with medium carbonation. Overall: distinctive.
2.8 Bottle. Light golden, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish aroma, light herbal hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish flavor, light herbal hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - lightly grainy and dryish/lightly sweetish with light herbal hoppyness. Nothing wrong - nothing special. Could be drier with more bitterness (if marketed as "truly great pils").
3.1 From the 11.2% bottle. Clear, straw yellow pour underneath a modest white foamy head. The aroma brings out a good toasted malt and bread character with a little soapiness and some cut grass. Light body. Toasted malt character for sure in the flavor with a clean and crisp grassy hop finish. Refreshing on a 85 degree day. It is a Pilsener and pretty straightforward.
3.7 On tap at Growler and Gill. Aroma of bread and hops. . Appearance is pale gold with persistent head . Tasting hops, sweet malt, hay, a bit of pepper. Palate is crisp and clean with a nice malt balance. Overall, a very good pilsener.
2.9 Bottle - Light yellow, small head, light creme aroma, a grass taste and a bit metallic. Sweet finish.
2.6 Draft at the Gnarly Barley. Pours hazy dark gold with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like pale malts, faint corn, booze, and light beer. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet corn, pale malts, and bread.
2.8 bottled, golden pour with short foam, aroma is sharp cheese with some prickly hops in the body of the flavor , ok light finish
2.8 Flaske.
2.4 0.33L bottle. Light hop and white bread aroma. Pale yellow. Medium size white hat on top, disappears. Corn, vegetable soup, lightly malt felt somwhere. Quite reserved taste. Bit watery also. Bitterness is ok in finish, but that is not enough.
2.4 Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Pale golden coloured with a sweet fruity and toffee flavour followed by a grassy and dry earthy finish.
3.4 Bottle as "EKU Pils"; 4,9% ABV. Straw yellow body, tall lasting head. Aroma has some bread and dry herbal hoppiness. Crisp and pale body. Flavour has a crisp and dry herbal hoppiness, which might not appeal to ale drinkers who expect sweet fruity hoppiness. Maybe that’s the reason this and other German Pilsners are so underrated here. But it’s a decent one.
2.7 Helder geel bier met schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en fris zoals pils moet zijn. Goed bier.
3.7 ON TAP: 0,4 vom Fass im EKU Inn in Nürnberg.
2.9 Clear yellow golden color with small head. Aroma is grassy hops, spices. Flavor is malt, grass sweet. Pretty ok basic pils.
2.3 bottle. Golden yellow, small white head. Malty start, some woody hopy tune in. Grainy malty background.
3.0 11.2 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malts, grain and grass. Taste is sweet malts and grain.
2.8 50 cl bottle. Less expensive than the other pilseners .Sweet malt flavour. Mild.Regular
