Overall, a pretty basic and mediocre barleywine, not much more to add to it.
1.9Pours very cloudy and brown with no head. Aroma is minimal - maybe some faint malts. Taste is almost like a nut brown ale with a spicy finish. Really, it’s all kinda flat. Hmm.
3.310.17oz bottle 8/22/13 (Binny’s Naperville)-48° in Snifter-Pours murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and dried fruits. Taste of the same with caramel and toffee coming thru on the back end. This full bodied brew is not bad but I guess I was expecting more.
3.710 oz bottle pours hazy brown with a thin off white head. Aroma of malts, fruit and caramel. Taste is malts, grass and dried fruit.
3.3Ruikt lekker zoet. Erg troebel, karamelachtige kleur. smaakt creamy met een bittere natoon.
4.1Pours a orange very hazy beer with a good white head. Smells really good. Creamy fruity sweet. Taste nice. Really fruity and creamy.
3.3Tap at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Originally rated 25112011. Colour is orange/brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Sweetness, fruits, yeast and malts.
3.5Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange brown color with very little head. The nose and flavor are sweet caramel, ripe fruits, yeast, brown sugar with a mild floral note. Low carbonation with decent flavor. Some alcohol.
3.5Sampling at omhper, thanks Per.
Light brown head. Nice amber color. Sweet malty aroma. The taste is quite young but still very smooth. The bitterness is low for the style.
3.2Poured from a 12ounce bottle, thanks to Mike. This Barleywine is malty, caramel, dry, astringent, grainy. I found this to be a bit to harsh for me to really enjoy.
3.7Bottle. Pours a ruddy brown color with a medium white head. A big sugary sweet nose with berries. The flavor is big caramel malts, earthy, dusty, some berries especially strawberry. Pretty mellow and nice.
3.3Bottle shared at the vintage party
Appearance: Clear golden with a small off-white head and some lacing
Aroma: Brown sugar and caramel
Taste: Toasted malts, leather and caramel
Ok
3.0Light copper, clear, thin white head. Aroma is light, biscuity, a little vegetal note. Flavor is nutty, some caramel, some dry grainy notes.
3.6Bottled, thanks fiulijn! Hazy amber, minimal head. Floral nose with peach brandy. Sweet and fruit ywith full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Spruce and caramel, really bitter finish.

3.6At BBF. Amber color with almost no head. Malty and alcoholish aroma, maybe some caramel. Sweet and alcoholish taste, a little hoppy.
3.5Pours amber colored with tiny head. Smells strong malty, yeasty, fruity and slight alcoholic. Starts with flat carbonation, strong maltiness, sweetish fruits and some yeast. Middle part is yeasty sweet, strong malty and alcoholic, with some dried fruits in the background. Goes into a very sweet-yeasty finish with strong malt notes.
3.2330 ml bottle. Cloudy deep amber with no head at all. Aroma heavy, sugars, caramel and hop notes of fruit and grass. Taste: alcohol, dark fruit, sweet. Relatively thin body
3.4(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, almost copper colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sweet, moderately yeasty toasty malty nose with notes of dried fruits, berries and caramel. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, full bodied, soft carbonation. Solid dark malty taste with a vinous fruit-character; a bit hoppy bitterness and warming alcohol show up towards the sweet and slightly bitter finish. 26.XII.12

Pours clear amber color with a small head. Aroma of sweet ripe fruits, caramel malts, yeast and some toffee. Flavor of caramel, malts, some ripe fruits, sugar and yeast. Somewhat disturbing vegetable notes too. Hasn’t change almost at all with time, maybe oxidized a bit.

3.4330 ml bottle. 10.5%. Lot A. BB 03/13. (Alko) Helsinki, Finland.
Hazy brown colour with almost no head.
Very strong malt and sweetness in aroma.
Flavour is very strong. It’s port wine, strong maltiness, and strong sweetness. Quite pleasant.
3.5Buddel: Hazy, amber coloured, small, but really stable and also lacy off-white head, distinctive sweetish-toasty and caramelly nose, some dried fruits underneath; solid and also - unexpected - bitter flavour, medium to full bodied. Well balanced, well drinkable…
4.0Deep red with a foamy off-white head. Sweet aromas of caramel with notes of freshly baked cake. (Yummy) Flavor is strong and sweet with a light hop bitterness and a slight alcohol burn after the swallow. Mouth-feel is not as full-bodied as I expected from a 10.5% ABV barley wine, but not too thin, either. Overall, a nice non-English, English barley wine.
3.2From bottle. Nice amber color with off white head. Slight malty aroma. Tastes set and malty with a slight spice of English hops.
(Rating #4337)
3.411.16 oz bottle served in a snifter. Poured a hazy amber with a quickly dissipating head. Bottle conditioned. Lots of malt in aroma, caramel. Very sweet, not much hop bitterness to balance. Medium to full bodied. Not much carbonation. Didn’t do much for me.
4.0Aroma has caramel toffee, dark bread, hoppiness, alcohol. Nice nuanced aroma. Taste has also lively malting balanced with hoppiness from too much sweetness. Alcohol gives nice warmth. Velvety soft, full bodied, nice palate. Hazy brown/red, no head. One to warm you on cold winter nights.
Sabor: Malta tostada, guindas, vino, frutos negros, caramelo, toffe.
4.0Barley are the best when done right, this is one of them. extreme malty and strong flavor with nuts and strong pine hoppy flavor. at 10% ABV, its not for the casual drinker.
3.8On tap at HaandFestival 2012.It’s an almost clear one, copper-colored and with a beige head. The aroma has a nice citrusy hoppyness, and some caramel in the back. A bit weak maybe, but pleasant. It’s bitter and citrusy in the flavor, some caramel maltyness as a foundation, and mostly bitter in the finish. Full body, semi-sweet on the palate. Certainly a nice beer, although it lacks a bit on complexity. Wouldn’t mind repeating this one. 120504
