4.0 Thuis uit een flesje. Zwart, mooi. Aardig schuim. Lichte chocolade geur. Stevige, te verwachten, smaak. Wat caramel, chocolade. Toch ook wel wat vlak voor een RIS en het abv. Maar goed.

3.8 Fles 33cl gedeeld in Heukelum. Zoet, rood fruit, boozy, koffie, zoethout, cream. (28-9-2019).

3.7 The aroma with burnt grain, coffee. Black almost without head. Coffee, burnt grain, dark crust of bread. Full body, light carbonation.

5.0 19-06-2019; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in The Netherlands). Wooooooow. Now this is a good beer. The looks are perfect to begin with. A RIS should be blacker than black. This beer is just that. On the eye it is pitch and pitch black. When I hold my phone flash behind it, it hardly lets any light trough. This one is dark. On top there is a very small layer of greyish brown foam. The little amount of foam collapses soon, leaving a minimal greyish drape. The aroma of the beer is truly divine. It is everything you'd like a beer to have. The malts come with some subtle roast and toast aromas. There is some chocolate, some coffee, quite some toffee and caramel. But it isn't super extremely toasty and smokey. Hops give some herbal notes, but clearly the focus isn't on them. There are loads and loads of aromas of plum, dried red fruits, some dried apricot. This gives a full aroma, reminding me a lot of a good port or a Pedro Ximenez sherry. Awesome. Rich, dark and pure. Some raisin is also there. A nutty touch is in the distance. I also sense some vanilla and maybe oak wood. There is a small edge of sweet whiskey like Bourbon. A very aromatic smooth sensation. The taste of the beer is awesome. Quite a sweet beer, with massive alcohol sweetness and sweet malts. But, the hops give some bitterness together with the roast. The fruity notes give a small sourness whilst the roast gives a tiny tiny savoury note. The result is a perfectly balanced beer. Me gusto este cerveza. The palate is lovely. Full body, super smooth and creamy texture and light carbonation. The alcohol gives a tingle and a super warming sensation. The beer is soft as silk and smooth as warm butter. Lovely. The finish is filled with dried red fruit, raisins, plums, sweetness and a touch of chocolate and roast. It lingers on for a long time. Very very pleasant. On of the best beers I've had in a long time. Good work.

4.0 0.33 l bottle from 'Mitra' (Den Bosch), best before May 2020, cellared for one-and-a-half years. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma dark chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut and some licorice. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty taste of nougat, hazelnut, milk coffee and some licorice, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy finish. Full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!

4.3 Cerveza de color marrón muy intenso, casi negro con espuma beige, cremosa y duradera. Aromas muy marcados a chocolate negro, pan tostado, cacao, maltas, licor... Sabores dulces, azúcar moreno, café torrefacto con un puto de licor. Muy buena cerveza.

4.5 Mon Imperial Stout favorite avec la North Coast Old Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout. "Engine Oil" comme disent les anglo-saxons. Épaisse et crémeuse avec de fortes notes de café, de chocolat, et de biscuits sucrés. Robe très noire et corps très puissant. Un must-have.

3.9 Tap at UjH Taproom. Black colour, beige head stays. Aroma is roasty, coffee, malty. Taste is is creamy, roasty, coffee, liquorice. Creamy texture, almost full body, smooth carbonation. Very well balanced, smooth and complex imo stout

4.0 Flaska.Pena skoro ziadna.Farba je cierna.Vona je sladiva,nastup suseneho ovocia-slivky,hrozno,prichadza horka cokolada,kava a slabucko v pozadi alkohol.Chut skoro nenasytena,sladovy nastup,suseene slivky,rum,hrozno,kava,nugat alkohol trosku zahreje.Telo plne.Dochut je intenzivne kavova so slivkami.

3.3 Schokolade in der Nase (fühlt sich gut an), im Trunk alkoholisch, malzig, dann deutlich Zartbitterschokolade, süß, wieder alkoholisch, Nougat, lecker wenn auch mit ordentlich Dampf.

3.7 Barwa ciemna, nieprzejrzysta. W aromacie przede wszystkim kawa, choć słabo wyczuwalna. W smaku jest wytrawne, czekoladowo-pralinowe. Wysycenie średnie, za wysokie.

3.4 Een stevige Stout met duidelijke aanwezigheid van koffie en chocolade en een flinke alcoholwarmte, bijna geen schuim te herkennen, maar dat is hier ook helemaal niet aan de orde. nasmaak is aangenaam bitter. lekker na het eten, in plaats van een bak koffie.

4.1 W zapachu lekko tytoniowe, palone, mocno czekoladowe i o dziwo nawet trochę chmielowe. W smaku dość ostre, wytrawne, lekko palone, czekolada. Całkiem wysoka goryczka. Żywica i lekka trawa. Smakuje trochę bardziej jakby to była imperialna black ipa. Wytrawne, niezbyt cieliste. Po ogrzaniu trochę lukrecji. Fajne piwo

3.6 Nowsza wersja - według etykiety 90 IBU. Arom at: klasyka - czekolada, kawa, paloność, melano, ale wszystko łagodnie i dobrze zbalansowane. Alkohol także nie przytłacza. Po chwili pojawiają się lekkie nuty utlenienia w stronę sherry. Wygląd: barwa czarna nieprzejrzysta. Piana jasno brązowa, mega obfita, choć niema gushingu. Początkowo drobne pęcherzyki, później mnóstwo dziur. Długo się utrzymuje. Smak: wyraźna kwaskowość, ale po chwili pojawia się także wielka słodycz. Mnóstwo czekolady, kawy, melano, paloności, orzechów, karmelu. Spory alkohol i lekkie akcenty miodowe. Goryczka słodowo- alkoholowa, powyżej średniej, ale tylko lekko drażniąca, bowiem dobrze zbalansowana. Pełnia wysoka, wysokie wysycenie i mnóstwo ciemnych słodów na finiszu z alkoholem rozgrzewającym przełyk. Przyzwoity RIS, mimo daty ważności do grudnia 2019r. nadgryziony już jednak zębem czasu.

4.7 From the tap at Slot Oostende. Bert dark Brown. Nice brown head. Smell of strong coffee. Taste of coffee, bitter, light sweetness. Bitter aftertaste that slowly fades. Fantastic beer

3.7 Bottle at Mondial de la Biere in Montreal 2018. Pours black with tanned head. Vanilla and roasted malts. Sweet, almost too sweet. Some bitterness at the end. Creamy mouthfeel. Good.

4.2 Good beer. I drunk it aged. Nice aroma of coffee and choco. But hops are there, which I dont like. It is balanced, but instead of hops, they should take care more on coffee and choco notes.

4.8 Wat een fantastische stout! Heerlijk donker, mooi donkerbeige schuim dat inzakt tot een strak laagje. Geurt naar koffie, chocolade, gedroogd fruit. Een heerlijk mooi rokerige smaak met daarin ook weer koffie en chocolade (en amandelen?). Prima bittere nadronk die lekker lang blijft. Ze wisten aan het Russische hof wel wat lekker was!

4.0 the aroma is caramel and chocolate with hints of roasted malt, cocoa, toffee, brown sugar and dark fruits... the taste is caramel and chocolate with notes of roasted malt, toffee, cocoa, toast, brown sugar and molasses... sweet, dry and bitter aftertaste...

4.1 Aroma of roasted hints with some almond, bit chocolate. Jet black in the glass, quickly dissapering head. Taste is semi sweet with smooth texture and notes of cocoa, almond creme, some notes of chocolate drink and vanilla. Well hidden alcohol, balanced and really drinkable. I'm laying down in the ground, my ass was kicked.

3.0 Bottle from Monkscafe Stockholm. Bottle from 2009 and sampled 2018. No head. Black color but with some debris in the bottle. Rich and tired malty arom as. The taste is also full and smoot but tired from the aging. Sweet malty with low bitterness.

4.1 Plenty of strong coffee in the aroma. Dark brown with a beige head. Dried fruit and coffee with plenty of underlying bitterness. Very nice indeed.

4.0 Aromas and taste of coffee and malt, high alcohol level, 75 IBUs hidden in the background. Very nice, would definitely drink this again.

3.5 Przegazowane i to sporo (nie tylko moja butla), w aromacie kawa, palone słody. W smaku kawa, słodowość, trochę winnych nut kwaskowych. Alkohol niewyczuwalny. Mało cieliste, raczej średnio pijalne. Przeciętny RIS.
