4.0 Tap at taphouse grill in Seattle with commonmac and rosskyle. Nearly black with very thick foamy head. Smells like a malty stout. Sweet and malty. Extremely smooth and creamy. Like a meal that’s very soft on the palate. Clean finish. Quite good.
3.5 On tap at Epic Brewing in Denver. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma has a little chocolate and graham wafer with a slight roasted malt scent. Taste is dry and a little sweet throughout. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, and smooth on the palate. Overall a good stout.
3.6 22 oz bottle. Release #23. (Texas Wine & Spirits) Carlsbad, CA. Dark reddish brown colour with a small light tan head. Sweet chocolate, dryish malt, molasses and some vanilla in the aroma. The flavour is toasted malt, chocolate, mild hoppy bitterness and sweetness. Balanced.
4.2 Marrom escuro. Ótimo aroma de café e chocolate amargo. No paladar, cafe, toffee e chocolate. Wonderful!!!
3.4 Bottle at the brewery. Pours dark but brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like roasted malt, burnt toast, semisweet chocolate, and some burnt coffee. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like roasted malt, semisweet chocolate, and toast.
2.2 Yikes! Expected so much more based on other Epic beers. Aroma of coffee, dark brown color with a short lasting tan head. Watery feel, light bodied beer with a coffee taste and a very light bodied coffee finish.
3.0 Poured from a bottle. Very short head. No lacing. Honestly, "watery" is the way I’d describe this beer.
2.6 Poured from a bottle. Dark brown color, no real head, highly carbonated. Roasted malt aroma. Light body with a watery carbonated coffee flavor and a light finish.
3.5 On nitro tap at the Denver brewery. Black appearance with a light tan head and sticky lacing. Aroma of chocolate, dark malts, roast, nuts and light coffee. Similar flavor, dark and malty with mild sweetness. Pretty light body for a stout, with soft carbonation and a smooth, creamy finish.
2.7 Bottle at Craft Cafe Imazato. Thin, strained, waterer-down cocoa nose. Translucent brown color. Thin chocolate, light cola, mild sweet roast, and fades into a light bitterness in final. Thin, watery body. Mild, somewhat pleasant, unexceptional.
3.1 (tap) clear honey amber colour with a small brown head; aroma of stewed fruit, hint of roast; rich but rather simple flavour with a long, light bitter finish
3.4 Bottle thanks to Matt. Pours a cloudy brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is dark chocolate, roast, raisin. Medium mouthfeel with roasted malt, chocolate, sweet finish. Good.
1.7 Smoke and water. No hints of chocolate or coffee. Disappointing. Not noteworthy enough to say more.
3.6 Bomber from Kenny Road Market. Blackish pour with thin light tan head and spotty stick. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate. Tastes are caramel, toffee, cocoa, nutty, floral, roasty. Medium body. Finishes clean and lightly bitter. Nice enough.
3.1 Appearance: dark brown with cola-colored edges, short light tan head, no lacing. Aroma: light aroma of cocoa, some vanilla and cream. Taste: bittersweet and milk chocolate, light coffee and rolled oats, hint of sweet cream. Finish: smooth and dry, just a titch watery. Notes: Not a lot of substance to this stout, but it wasn’t terrible either. Probably wouldn’t drink again.
3.3 Bomber at Imazato. Black with a low lacy head. Shiny. Dry chocolate, light coffee, tart fruit in the nose, with a bit of umami soy. Light and thin, with a touch of pickles. Decent but not wholly impressive.
3.6 Tap. Pours a dark brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. vanilla. Flavor is dry, roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, toffee, vanilla, a mild earthiness, and a dry finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Pretty good overall.
3.7 Bottle. Chocolate fudge malt and straw aroma. Dark brown with small head. Roasted barley malt, light chocolate, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Body on the light side. Tasty.
3.7 Bottle: Nearly black, rubied with a creamy tan head. Cocoa powder, chocolate malt aroma. Oatmeal, chocolate malt, vanilla taste. Light, but drinks fairly rich feeling. Really sweet and tasty.
3.3 Draft. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, with slightl lacing, over a dark brown (SRM 30) clear body......nose is cocoa, chocolate, coffee from the roasted malts, slight hop herbal note, balance to the malts.....taste is light lactose type sweetness to start, then cocoa, chocolate, coffee from the roasted malts, finishing dry, with a moderate, hop, roasted malt bitterness......mouth feel medium, with a creamy body, no alcohol, mild acidity. This is a well made but still relatively light Stout. The oatmeal, while present in the creaminess, is slightly lacking in the body, and a bit more in the malt bill would not be remiss. 3.7 On tap at Smokin’ Dave’s in Estes. Appearance: finger dark brown head, dark brown color, clear, ok lacing, head does not last. Aroma: roast, chocolate, light molasses, undertones of floral hoppiness. Palate: Full body, creamy texture and carbonation, light bitter finish. Taste: sweet chocolate and nuttiness into a light, floral bitterness that lasts for a bit. Overall, the transition from full body to lighter finish is very unique and very well done. Very enjoyable beer.
3.6 Another great stout. Pours a very nice dark brown with a tan head. Smells of vanilla. Taste is very smooth, lots of vanilla, a bit of coffee, and not as bitter of a finish as the imperial. Had on tap at the brewery.
3.7 Bomber bottle. Aroma is sweet with a lot of roasted mushrooms. Appearance is dark brown with a tan head. Taste is dark malt with some sweetness and malt mixed. Palate is dry and dark. Overall, a decent stout. Nitro me, please.
3.6 Tap. Pours dark brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is chocolate, earthy notes, light roast, fig, dates, and faint vanilla. Flavor is dry malts, smooth chocolate, faint earthiness, faint dark fruit notes, and some faint ash; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

3.8 22 oz. bomber. Pours dark brown, almost black, with half-inch off-white head. Subtle earthy, coffee aromas. Creamy mouth feel with chocolate, coffee, molasses, and brown sugar. Very sweet, in a good way. Little to no bitterness.
3.4 Draft - Nitro - Roast malts and and coffee. Jet black with a rich beige head. Roasty with a creamy dark chocolate finish. Body is unusually light for this style.
3.2 Nitro keg at the Library Alehouse, Santa Monica, 16/04/14. Light black with a well appointed tan head that retains well. Nose is roast malt, toffee, cardboard, dark berry fruit. Taste comprises cocoa powder, roast malt, hint of liqourice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok dry stout.
