3.5 Shared bomber poured to snifters displaying a clear, copper color, with a modest layer of bubbly white foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was raspberry, candy sweetness, and a bit of vanilla wafer. Medium bodied, with average carbonation, the taste was as raspberry syrup, like you'd add to embellish a Berliner Weisse, with slight hints of cocoa & tea, and subtle tartness to the finish. Not a big Fruit Beer fan, but this was nicely presented.
3.8 December 30th, 2014 - I’ve always enjoyed the Brainless series as local sour fruit beers go. But this is the first time trying the Brainless Raspberries, a lovely pink brew with a refreshing clarity and just the thinnest of heads. The aroma reminds me of sweet cotton candy, decorated with fresh raspberries and chunks of watermelon, with a crescent of strawberry in there too. The taste is more sour than the aroma promises, but darkness quickly, getting malty almost like New Belgium’s Frambozen. It is a fascinating brew that changes suddenly, which always scores well with me.
3.3 poured a clear salmon with a lasting pink head. Aromas of raspberry and cookie. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread and raspberry with a smooth lingering raspberry finish.
3.7 Draft. Pours reddish amber with a white head. Jammy raspberry sweetness, mild acidity, and a fresh jammy finish. Tasty.
2.9 22oz bottle from Wegmans in Collegeville. This beer poured a light orange color with a pink hue and no head. There was no lacing left around the glass either. The nose was full of raspberries and the flavors were overpowering with the fruit. There was hardly a trace of the alcohol content in this beer. This seemed more like a fruity mixed drink than a beer.
3.4 (Tap) clear, bright orange colour with a small white head; aroma of lilies, hint of sourness; balanced flavour with a long, light sweet and sour finish
2.4 Bottle tasted on the 25/03/2017 at the Barcelona Beer Festival. Clear reddish amber colour with a minimal and fizzy head. Aroma of raspberries, syrup and light medicinal. Taste has lots of medicinal and sweet raspberries. Light carbonation and body. Not for me. Next one please!
3.7 Bottle at BBF. Copper colour with white head. Raspberry aroma. Sweet, raspberry, fruit and caramel taste. MEdium body.
3.6 On tap, @BBF 2017, Barcelona 26/03/17 Color rojizo transparente, con una corona de color rosa con un aroma inicial a frambuesa. sabor frutal con algun toque especidado y ligero final agrio.
3.3 22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass. The beer is a cleqr copper color with a white head of foam. Good head retention. The aroma has fruity raspberry and doughy bread. Sweet and fruity taste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Maybe the fruit has diminished, but this seems a little subtle on the raspberry, at least for my preference.
3.9 On tap at Cap Tap. Pours bright red with an attractive pink head and a nice raspberry aroma. There is a delicate light malt flavor with a lot o raspberry and a peppery finish.
3.5 Bomber, thanks Mike! Belgian yeast spice aroma with notes of sweet/tart raspberry and a little bit of cough syrup. Pours reddish-orange colored with a thin white head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with raspberry sweetness with a little bit of tart as well. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with some Belgian yeast character as well as raspberry and a touch of cough syrupy notes. Pretty good fruit beer, would have been better without the cough syrup flavor.
1.9 Aroma is raspberry. Light and tart raspberry taste. Overall just too tart for me.
3.6 Draft at HOTB. Reddish gold color with full head. Smells and tastes like raspberries , and ....more raspberries. Creamy and smooth texture. Light tartness. It's a pretty good raspberry fruit beer. The alcohol tastes hidden.
3.8 Rating #2106 2015.10.08 - Bottle at @7degrees Beer School. Pours a deep ruby Aroma is strong raspberry. Taste is more of the same, sweet berry juicyness, light tartness. Palate is heavy with sweetness, alcohol provides a little depth.
2.8 Draft at the brewpub. Clear reddish amber with minimal head. Aroma is raspberry, cough syrup, corn syrup, Belgian yeast. Sweet, fruity, medicinal flavor. Ok. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Meh.
3.7 Sweet, fruity, booze hidden. Solid but slightly cloying with the raspberry power! At brewery over summer.
3.7 22oz bottle. Poured an amber with a ruby tint and an averaged sized head. Raspberries, fruity, and candy. Alcohol hidden. Had this a a BYOB on vacation, so extra points there ...
2.8 Sampled on draft at Hough’s this beer poured a hazy red color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy with a hint of vinegar and faint berries. The flavor was tartish and a bit jammy with vague berry, cardboard and a bit of artificial sugar. Medium length berry and jam finish. Medium body. Disappointing.
3.1 Meh. I’m a sucker for fruit beers (especially raspberry) but this was a dud. Aroma was nice. Good raspberry and fruit aromas with a hint of yeast. Pour was a beautiful dark red with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was very thin and alcoholic. More alcohol than raspberry flavor. Artificial cough syrup and sweetness with mild carbonation. Was expecting more
3.6 A 22 fl. oz. bottle, Release #33, brewed on 3rd November 2014 and packaged on 19th November 2014. Poured into a d’Achouffe tulip glass. It poured a cloudy pinkish red orange colour (like pink guava juice) with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly and left only sparse lacing. Aromas are fruity raspberry juice and strawberry jam. Tastes sweet and lightly tart raspberry and strawberry jam flavours with a good amount of alcohol bite that’s not overpowering. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. It’s a good beer that has a nice alcohol bite and while its not overpowering, I do prefer fruit beers to be a bit lighter though and hence Epic Lil’ Brainless Raspberries was slightly better in my opinion.
3.6 On tap. Pours a clear red with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet, fruity aroma of raspberries with a hint of tartness. Sweet flavour of raspberries, Belgian yeast and wheat malt with a dry, tart, slightly acidic, boozy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice fruit beer.
4.0 Bomber from Capones and Whole Foods PM. Pours chill hazy ruby/copper with off-white head. Nose is huge raspberries, some malt. Smells like a handful of orchard-picked raspberries. Tastes fruity, with big raspberry notes, some malt, hops, smooth finish. Amazingly well hidden alcohol.
3.7 Bomber from Malt and Vine. Pours translucent pinkish gold with a whiteish head. Raspberry aroma. Med body or so. Flavor is raspberry, but there’s a "strange" alternate flavor as well. Maybe it’s Belgian yeast doing something. It is fairly dry, even getting a bit astringent. Certainly drinkable, but it’s not as pleasing as I hoped.
3.8 22 oz. bottle, pours a pinkish amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out raspberries, some Belgian yeast and candied sugar. Flavour is complex, with Belgian yeast, candied sugar, alcohol and raspberries. Really great mix of elements that are quite complex together. Excellent stuff.
3.6 Hazy reddish amber. Nose of tart raspberry, wheat malt, and faint Belgian yeast. Flavor is like a strong wheat ale with moderate tart raspberry. Easy to drink for the ABV. Fruit character above average, but still lacking.
3.0 Draught at Sunset Grill, 2/13/16. Peachy-amber with a light raspberry tint to it and small, pink-flecked head with moderate to low retention. Raspberries are ripe, juicy/jammy and quite prominent in the nose. Lots of vanilla, wheat and light caramel behind them, with strong esters and a touch of sharpness be it from the raspberry acids and/or yeast/alcohol. Not terribly charming on the Belgian aspect, but the raspberries are done well. Again with the slight overabundance of sweet malt and moderate booziness. I suppose it doesn’t drink like that at first, the raspberries taking some of the focus off the size of the beer, but it definitely catches up and begins to fatigue the palate with an odd grassiness building up as well. A bit "thick" for my liking and just too sweet overall, but not quite undrinkable.
3.8 22 oz. bottle thanks to Willrunforbeer. Release number 5. Amber color with a pink hue. Aroma is huge raspberry! Big bold even with the amount of time this bottle has sat in Brian’s basement, awesome. Flavor does well to showcase the raspberries. Carbonation is nice and mild yet still has a light tingle. At over 9% ABV and doesn’t show any notes of alcohol, would have guessed it was a 6 or 7 percent brew. The Belgian yeast has a nice presence, really enjoyed this.
3.8 Bottle from trade. Release 5. Aroma is strong raspberry, alcohol. Flavor is honey, multigrain bread, raspberry. A hint of clove in the finish.
2.6 Backlog. Draft taster at Iron Horse in DC. Dark pink with bare head. Yeast and watery raspberry. Tart, but not pleasantly so. Unpleasant.
