Epic Copper Cone Pale Ale

Epic Copper Cone Pale Ale

Copper Cone Pale Ale is a special offering, aroma rich, pale ale that may vary the hops, malts and even sometime the yeast used. Typically this beer is an “over the top” Pale Ale with a deep copper color and loads of dry hopping going into each batch. The fresh hop aroma of this beer makes it a stand out. Stronger in alcohol and body than CAPT’N CROMPTON’S PALE ALE and appeals to beer aficionados.

3.6 650ml brown bottle. Release # 79. Amber/orange, hazed. Big thick and creamy white head. Nose has citrus and spicy hops with caramel malt. In the mouth the beer shows caramel malt with piney hops. Piney aftertaste with light bitterness. A decent APA.
3.7 Bottle into pint glass. Pours a hazy copper colour with an off white head. Aroma is slight pine and resin. Taste is a little citrus, pine and resin. Excellent beer.
4.0 Appearance: hazy pale amber with two fingers of rocky light tan head, good retention and patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: resiny pine, citrus, caramel malt, lightly nutty. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (8/10) Medium-light body tending a little to the watery, moderate carbonation, lingering finish. (4/5) Nicely done APA. Heck, it would be fine as an IPA, except for the slightly light body. No tricks, no gimmicks, just a straight-up, hop-forward pale. Well worth trying. (16/20)
3.4 Very well done beer. Nothing too crazy but an easy sipper with a well balanced profile. Pours a bright golden yellow with a finger of dense white head. Light carbonation in the body with an aroma of light citrus and floral hops, a pinch of spice and a light toasted malt base. Very well balanced with a medium body, crisp and moderately bitter finish. Well done
3.8 Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy amber with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma got marmelade malts and toffee, piney and fruity hops. Taste is light sweet smooth malty, toffee, good hoppy dry finish, with pine cones and dry citrus, jolly good.
3.7 650ml bottle (release #79, 6.7%alc/vol) pours a copper color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and caramel with some hints of pine. Taste is a citrus and light pine hop bitterness with a light fruity and caramel malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation that satisfies the palate. Overall, a hop forward pale ale that is full flavored and worth checking out.
4.1 Another excellent beer from Epic release #67 7.4%abv. Smooth very drinkable would recommend not hoppy.
3.5 I believe #12. Bottle. Good balanced apa - pine and lightly dank hops, with Carmel and bready malt. Nice.
3.7 On tap at Epic Brewing in Denver. Pours a very cloudy copper colour with a medium tan head. Aroma has a light hop and fruit character to it. Taste is a little sweet throughout and not too bitter. Smooth mouth feel, medium body, and lightly carbonated for a pale ale. Overall it’s a pretty good beer.
3.5 Bottle at the brewery. Pours opaque copper with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like mellow citrus hops, light grapefruit, caramel, light lemon, and cracker malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like light citrus, light caramel, and light nutty malt.
3.7 Red pour from 22oz in park city at Trevor's. Fruity and Cherry aroma. Like Chapstick. Has a mild bitter/hoppy, tropical fruits and a little malts. Really good
3.7 On tap at the Denver brewery. Dark orange, light amber and pretty clear appearance with an off-white head and light lacing. Aroma of light hop resin, pine, floral notes and citrus fruits. Similar flavor, medium resinous hop bitterness and light malty sweetness. Medium body with soft carbonation and a light dry finish. A nice hoppy, yet easy drinking pale ale.
3.8 Bomber bottle poured a muddy copper hue w/ a small beige head and sticky lacing. Big sweet malty aromas. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a bold bitter finish of lasting duration. Tastes are caramel, orange, pineapple, toast, and pine. Full bodied and creamy mouthfeel.
3.5 Release #12. 12 oz. can from Supermarket Liquors. Appearance: 2 finger white head, straw gold color, clear, good lacing. Aroma:pine, grass, caramel, light sweet caramel, metallic. Palate: light body, average carbonation, bitter finish, slightly sticky. Taste: light sweet caramel into slightly watery and metallic with some metallic astringency and pine bitterness coming into a mild bitter finish. The metallic taste is obviously intentional, so it is well done. Very enjoyable and unique. Drinkable.
4.4 Easily one of the best PAs I’ve had. My can’s clocking in at 5.2% ABV. Here’s what I get. Flavorful beyond words for this style as well as for this ABV, and an incredibly amazing malt backbone. Highly recommended. My rating reflects the style and the ABV.
3.7 Aroma: hay, flowers, intense caramel. Appearance: hazy brown, small, white head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: initially sweets continue, caramel, then bitters coming up, floral hops, getting dry in the long finish. Overall: very nice APA, massive aroma and palate. Pint at Yard House - The Link, Las Vegas.
3.6 Bomber from Savor Growl. Copper pour (appropriately) with thin off-white head. Aroma of pine, hay, floral, grapefruit. Tastes are caramel malt, herbal, grassy, doughy, grapefruit. Bitter and dry in the finish.
3.1 A good smooth pale ale. Pours a bright orange. Smells a bit of tropical fruit. Taste is tropical fruit upfront with a slight hoppiness in the finish, but very well balanced. Had on tap at the brewery.
3.8 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours copper, nose is zesty, toffee, taste is sweet, fruity, dry toffee.
2.8 Decent pale ale. Piney hops with a bready malt base. Has some hops spiciness to it as well.
3.1 Bomber from Sonoma Cellars in Oconomowoc. Pours unclear orange white head. Aroma has caramel, pine and biscuity malts and some stone fruits. Taste is of pine, heavy resin, fruits and caramel with an off flavor. Tangy and malty heavy. Medium bodied and a bit rough. Bittersweet finish. Just not too well executed. 12 8
3.9 Bottle from Wilbur’s Total Beverage. Pours copper with a thick beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Tasty.
3.0 On tap at O’Riley & Conways, pours a clear dark amber with a thick white head, the aroma has a light hops touch with a hint of tropical fruit, the flavor is of very light hops with a weak mouthfeel, disappointed.
3.3 Bottle. Clear ’copper’ body, small beige head. Aroma of citric hops, wheat. Taste is caramel with grapefruit, biscuit and perfume. medium bitterness, soft carbonation. A solid standard apa that doesn’t stand out in any way
3.7 Pint at Lowry Beer Garden. Pours cloudy copper with a tall white head. Nose is hoppy in a piney, grassy way with token grapefruit in thd back. The palate is full for the style, but not too heavy. Good, clean hop bite in the flavor with smooth, bready balance. Solid pale ale. I’d drink this again.
3.3 Dull amber pour with fair offwhite head. Surprisingly sweet. Smooth and a little foresty hop flavor. Big caramel malt backbone melds nicely. Easy drinker, but definitely not a west coast ipa by any stretch. maybe just an old bottle.
3.3 (bottle - 22 oz - Release #32) Hazy copper pour with a thin white head. Big citrus and pine resin hop aroma. Flavor is shockingly mild. Very light citrus and hops with a slow bitter creeping up on the aftertaste. Pity.
3.6 Draught at Craft Beer Base. Copper with small off-white head. Hops and some grass. Flavour also has some citrus and malts.
3.3 From a bottle at the Epic Brewery Annex in SLC UT. Pours a hazy copper with an off white head. Grassy hop nose and flavor. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slight bitter finish.
