Epic Escape To Colorado IPA

Epic Escape To Colorado IPA

Epic Brewing has been making high-strength beers in the land of low-strength (Utah). Rather than expand their operations there, they chose to open a 2nd brewery in a more encouraging state, Colorado. This is their first batch of beer brewed here in Denver. Big, fruity hop aromas.

1.8 12 oz. can. Pours a very cloudy muddy gold color with a bright white head and excellent retention. Spotty lacing. Strong floral hops aroma. Pretty straightforward hoppy IPA. Bitter, but more hops flavor than bitterness. Nothing new or unique. Just another IPA.

4.2 (voilà une ipa mosaïquée qui passe comme une lettre à la poste, raffinée-douce, plaisir à 6,2 : c’est beau-bon-cool) (je commence vraiment à croire que les Amerloques sont les rois de l'ipa en tous genres)

3.8 355ml can. Slightly hazy orange gold colour, creamy white foamy head leaving lacing and aroma of juicy fruits, citrus, spicy hoppy. Taste is malt caramel, with fruity orange, alittle pine, and resiny spicy hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry mellow bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.
3.2 12oz Dose. Schmutzig trübes dunkles Helb. Flocken. Heller fester Schaum. Leckere Citrus Note. Etwas Pinie und Hopfen. Im Geschmack Honigmelone, Pinie und Hopfen. Citrus im Abgang. Nicht ganz süffig.
3.5 Can 12fl.oz. @home poured into a shaker. Hazy medium golden, much activity in the glass, good frothy white head, good retention, heavy lacing; aroma pale malt, tangerine, grass, floral hops; mild taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, light citrus, light pine; mild fruity bittersweet aftertaste, mild orange pith, some pine resin; medium body, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation; mild and smooth IPA, easy to drink, nice.
3.3 Pours a cloudy, dark golden amber coloration with a small, creamy head. Smell is rather unassuming, with some faint doughy malt and citrus notes coming through. Taste follows the nose, with a decent balance of equally faint grainy, doughy malt and floral, citrus hops with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pine and a light herbal/grassy note. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some citrus notes and light pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. A decent IPA that's a tad too heavy on the grainy malt and floral hops for me, but still has some nice citrus notes and piney bitterness, although the hops feel a bit faint.
3.4 355ml can. Murky, orangey, dark golden colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Piney and tropical fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of pineapple, hints of passion fruit, minimally sugary, caramel malty background. Taste is moderately sweet, minimally sugary, caramel malty and citrusy, minimally piney hoppy, notes of lemon, hints of instant lemon tea, a minimally earthy and leafy touch. Average IPA.
3.2 Tan body, decent head. Funky nose that at first seems sour, but slowly unfurls its dank green notes. The body is similarly very green and earth. Funky dank green hop finish.
2.4 29/IX/18 - 12Fl. Oz. can @ geneeskunde reünie, Kantien (Gent), BB: X/19/18 - (2018-1517) Thanks to my wife for sharing tonight's beers! Little cloudy yellow blond beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, completely oxidized, grains, some honey. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: super malty, oxidized, grains, sweetish, some caramel. Aftertaste: little fruity, very bitter, hoppy, pretty oxidized, some honey, fruity notes, way too oxidized, soft citrus notes, orange peel, more oxidation.
3.9 Puszka 0,355 litra zakupiona w Bierland - Kraina 1000 Piw. Barwa jasno żółta, opalizująca. Piękna, gęsta biała piana, utrzymująca się bardzo długo i oblepiająca szkło na całej długości. W aromacie delikatne cytrusy, lekka kwiatowość. Zupełny brak słodyczy i niewyczuwalny alkohol. W smaku wytrawne, z umiarkowaną goryczką na finiszu. Również zero oznak alkoholu. Wysoka pijalność. Wysycenie średnie. Bardzo przyjemne 🍺
3.3 Hazy blond with thin lacy head. Aroma and flavour have some peach and orange citrus. Not bad. Very dry finish.
3.6 Pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is full, malty, tad pine. Taste is pine, bitter, bit malty. Nice, but not great or specifically unique.
2.4 Thanks to Mark. Malty, medium weight IPA. Fairly smooth, with a little citrus peel in the finish. Weird hop choices or perhaps some funk in here created a weird flavor of alien, possibly dangerous fruit. And what does this have to do with Colorado? Is there hemp in here? Blah.
3.6 3oz from a bottle @ Epic taproom. Pours clear golden with a low head. Aroma is slightly fruity malts. Flavor is sweet and bitter malts with some fruits and loads of hops. Great.
