We’ve combined the clean, puckering tartness of kettle souring with an abundance of juicy, citrus-driven hops to create a beer that’s the best of both worlds--Tart ’n Juicy Sour IPA.

3.2Medium strength malty sweet smell....taste is quite sour ....nice and bold..but there does seem to be more thickness and heft behind it than other sours because it's an IPA...not tasting much hops or bitterness though, so that's great! Unique...drinkable, albeit maybe a bit slower to enjoy....ok depth...had the day of my 2,000th beer party!! (#1999!)

2.5Taste: tart very sour, earthy, chewy, gritty, citrus hopped. Fermented sour nose. Gold/amber hue, clear, small white head and lace. medium to med/full body. Maybe the beer was beyond date?
2.312 oz. can pours a golden color with minimal white head. The aroma is citrusy and pungent. The mouthfeel is somewhat stagnant with fairly little carbonation. The taste is mostly sour, with a little bitterness, and no real malt backbone. The flavors are predominantly tangy citrus with a little funk and a hint of citrusy hops. Overall, this is an interesting idea, though the execution is lackluster.
3.7Draught at Golden Gate Taphouse, small creamy bubbly head, clear palish red color, flavor of apple strudel, strawberry jam, mellow fruity sourness, funk and ripe and a bit cooked fruit flavor, spicy whiff, hint of sweetness, not much bitterness, zingy carbonation. Very nice and drinkable, unusual.
3.7Draft at Oviedo Brewing. Pours cloudy burnt orange color with white head. Aromas of citrus. Sour grapefruit rind flavor with slight sweetness. Medium body with average carbonation.
3.8Opaque copper color with grapefruit and evergreen hops aroma. Delicious combination of flavors, sour acid, a little sweetness underneath, and citrus hop bitterness. Slightly funky finish with some hop aftertaste.
3.8Dunkles gelb, im Geruch harzig hopfig Schale der Grapefruit, im Geschmack kräftig herb sauer hopfig im Abgang dann Grapefruit orangenschale die sich lang hält
3.712oz Dose. Hellbraunes Bier, luftiger Schaum. Harz und Citrus Duft. Kräftig saurer und harziger Antrunk. Zitrone, Kiefernnadeln, Harz, Malz. Abgang stark Grapefruit. Das Bier hält was der Name verspricht.
3.7Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours copper tinged gold with a slight white head that quickly vanished. Light citrus/pale stone aroma. Hint of sour. Med body. Flavor is moderately sour citrus with some apricot notes. Dry. Quite citrusy.
4.4“For never having a sour IPA it’s delightfully refreshing, doesn’t have that normal ipa hop taste and really easy to drink. I approve”

3.6Tap at Imazato. Cloudy amber-orange, nice lacing. Aroma of tropical and citrus fruits, yoghurty lactic notes. Flavour is on the higher end of tart sourness, lactic acid, fruity, some cracker. Decent mouthfeel for a lightish beer, easy to down a pint.
2.5Cloudy orange. Sour grapefruit aroma. Medium body. An odd mix of sour citrus and a bit of grassy bitter hops. Tart and sweet mostly though. I'm not a big sour fan but can appreciate them, but not sure they should be mixed with IPAs.
2.1Can. MAJOR SEDIMENT! Orange color, cloudy. White head. Sweaty, musty aroma. Fruit hops. Tart flavor, oranges. Juicy hop flavor. sour notes. I feel like the hops and sour notes are contrasting rather than complimentary. Nasty appearance too.
2.9Haven’t loved any sour ipas I’ve tried and this continues that trend. Murky dirty orange pour. Nose sour citrus and melon. Tastes of the water at end of fruit salad bowl (melon, cantalouope, etc). Some lemon and dish soap. Lightly sour.
3.0Not a big fan of sour beers but the hops in this IPA offsets the sickly sweet taste I get from sours. This beer is like an alcoholic sweet tart.
3.612 oz. can from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Very hazy orange gold with some off white foam. Nose is peaches and light funk. Flavor begins tart and fruity but on each sip it becomes earthier and drier. Some stone fruit here with a soft malt base. A hint of lime and maybe berries. Interesting stuff.
3.9A 12 fl. oz. can, with no canned on or best before date “welcome to the party pal”. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was a hazy dark orange copper colour with a two finger off white head that had decent retention and left some nice lacing. Aromas were tart-ish, tropical juiciness, jammy, fruit compote, lychee, apricot and peach with hints of mango and orange. Tastes tart, lightly sour, apricot, apricot compote, half ripe mango and only hints of citrus fruit. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall nice and drinks easy. Could be even more sour considering it has the name ‘sour’ in it, but the tropicalness is refreshing.
4.0A 12 oz can shared with Strykone on Facebook Chat. Pours a cloudy peach to orange color with a white head. Nose if mango, melon, citrus, and peach. Medium body. Flavor is sort of tart and funky, and very fruity. Finish is tart and earthy. . A real hybrid of a beer and quite tasty and easy drinking.
2.6Not the most visually appealing beer with all the sentiment floating around. Both aroma and flavors have a perfumy fruity tart qualities. No sign of hops. Not a bad beer except for the India pale ale part.
3.7Had his froma can. Aromas of lychee and tangerines. A light golden color with a touch of orange. Flavor is very strong with lychee, mandarin oranges like the ones from the can. Very sour and tart but fades quickly and you are with with pineapple and citrus hop aromas. Nicely balanced, really like this beer.
3.1Pours golden with a white head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Has some pine and a lot of tartness on the nose. Fairly tart on the tongue which seems to overpower the hop character. It’s an interesting attempt but definitely more sour than IPA.
3.512 oz can. Pours hazy copper color with moderate head. Aromas of tart fruit compote and dough malts. Flavors follow same though more green berries. Big maltiness seems a bit at odds with the sour. A doughnut with gooseberry icing...
3.312 oz can. (State Wine & Liquor Store) Salt Lake City, UT.
Slightly cloudy golden color with a small white head.
Fruity, juicy and tart aroma.
The flavor is tart, sour and fruity.
I have a bit of a stuffy nose I'm not able to get all the subtle nuances right now. But I have another can to be enjoyed later. Rerate if needed.
No need for change the rates. Not my favorite.
4.03oz from a bottle @ Epic taproom. Pours cloudy amber with a low head. Aroma is sweet tart malts. Flavor is sweet very tart malts with a sour fruity finish. Not that much hops, but great.
3.7Had this on tap. For me it wasnt sour enough although it was okay. Ive had other sour IPA's but this one wasnt sour really and wasnt hoppy enough however it was okay
2.912 oz can. Pours cloudy dark honey colored. Aroma of citrus, spicy. Flavor is citrus, tart funk. Not that great.
3.04oz sample at Epic Brewing in Denver. Very light golden color. Smells funky. The taste starts off sour, then transitions into a hoppy finish.
3.47/23/2016 -- from notes: 12oz can. Says 2882 15045 on the bottom? Toasty malt, some lemon. Reminds me a little bit of Boulevard's Tell Tale Tart, but more dry. Nice bit of tropical fruit in there, seeing some papaya, kind of lighter to medium body. Kind of crisp, light carbonation. Dry finish. Light to moderate sour, light to moderate bitter, moderate sweet. Kind of dirty golden orange color. Hazed up with lots of particles in the body. Off-white head, some frothy lace. Easy-drinking, kind of bright, refreshing. Went through the can easier than I thought I would. I guess I didn't realize it was 4.5%. But like others are saying, not really an IPA. Just kind of an amber sour..
3.5Blah, blah, blah, blah... first couple of tastes take you back a little.
But settles down to a smooth palate
