Erdinger Pikantus

Erdinger Pikantus

Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

3.7 Bottle online from The Trembling Madness. Pours a very dark brown with a fast dissipating head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, fruit cake, caramel, brown bread, cloves and a hint of banana. Taste has more of the same notes with added notes of liquorice and molasses. A sweet and slightly cloying finish. Thin to medium body, fizzy carbonation and slick oily mouthfeel. It’s ok but i’m not overly keen on the sweet syrupy finish.
3.7 Pours dark ruby red with a medium sized head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of molases, cherries, alcohol. Taste of dark fruits, molases, spices. Medium carbonation. Sweet and bitter aftertaste.
3.0 Bottle - hazy brown with initial large tan head, but dissipates to just thin line. Strong, fruity alcoholic aroma. Good mouthfeel. Not tasting overall alcoholic - easy drinking, not sweet, - prefer a standard weiss.
4.4 Fantastic beer soft caramel notes Erdinger only make great quality beer
3.0 Kupio sam ovo pivo u Kaufland...pivo izgleda lijepo...gusta čvrsta pjena ..boja dobra...pitko..alkohol se osjeti ali dosta malo... lagano gorkasto.. ok pivo
4.2 500ml bottle. It is a good doppelbock with a little weak foam and Co2. Taste is brandy, plum, touch of coffee and citrus. Very good to drink!
3.6 Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours deep hazy brown with a thick, foamy light tan head. The aroma is earthy, woody, brown bread, rivita, malt loaf cereal, brown banana and spice. The taste is initially dry, then eases into a bitter - sweet character, malt loaf, brown bread, cereal, spice, toothy, ripe banana, banana bread, dried fruits, dull caramel & molasses and earthy wood. Finishes up dry and toasty. As the description indicates this isn't one of those highly sweet examples of the style, so it drinks well and easily. Opens up as it warms. A nice take on the style.
3.6 500ml bottle as part of a delivery from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. Light reddish brown, clear with very little head and some visible carbonation. The aroma is light, with fruity malt loaf, prune, a touch of clove. It's sweet but no overly so, with notes of demerara sugar, stone and orchard fruits. Finish on the short side with more brown sugar in the aftertaste.
4.1 Oscura, más aromática, se siente más burbujeante.
3.7 500ml bottle and my first Weizenbock. Pours a clear dark brown, small beige head, circular retention. Aroma of sweet malts, toffee, light fruity raisin; decent but nothing amazing. Taste is more impressive, with the malt layers, toffee, coffee bitterness, toast, light fruity note. A lively fine carbonation pushes the flavours around the palate. Its good.
3.4 *Rating overgezet 2017* Het is een troebel bruin bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een zoete wat caramel achtige geur. De smaak is zoet, gerst achtig met een licht bittere afdronk.
3.7 Bottle at home. Pours dark brown color, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, nuts. Taste is sweet, fizzy, chocolate, nuts, bit overcarbonated for me.
3.5 Dark and sweet, a novelty to some people. Well done for what it is and worth trying for the style.
3.8 From Waitrose Chipping Sodbury
3.3 500ml bottle. Bought in jumbo supermarket. Lagerish smell, malts, grains. Dark color, medium head. Very soft taste, kind of boring tbh. Meh.
3.5 Bottle from Albert Heijn. Clear dark brown, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of red apple, prune, raisin, dried banana, pear, clove, toast, tea leaves, toffee. Taste has sweet raisin, prune & red apple in a toffee malt body, spicy nutmeg accent, bit toasty, low wheaty. Malty, slightly herbal hoppy finish, dried fruit, spices & phenols returning in the back, agreeable alcohol warmth. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Good combination of genres.
3.6 500ml bottle on offer from Waitrose, Epsom. Pours mahogany with a beige head. Aroma of malt with a hint of banana. Sweet taste with caramel. Sweet finish.
4.0 Melhor Weiss que já bebi! Pouco enjoativa e muito saborosa.
3.8 Bottle 500ml. Pouts very dark brown with a short foamy light brown head. Scent of malt and toffee. Mouth feel is lightly creamy with gentle tingling carbonation, and a medium thick body. Taste is quite sweet with low bitterness and very low acidity. Flavors of malt, caramel, grain, caramel, mild coffee notes, wheat, toffee, very light hops. Easy drinking, surprisingly. Tatses like an extra thick Belgian dubbel. Simple in flavor, but very nice along a wintery meal.
3.6 Bottle at home. Brown coloured. Caramel, slightly toasted, red fruits. Malty, bready, rich. Decent enough. Purchased at Carrefour
3.8 Interesting lightly dark wheat beer. Fresh and full body, with some kind of spicyness. Nice dominant carbonation.
No repetiría.
3.8 I have bought this bottle, at the corte ingles, Luis Montoto, Sevilla. Opening this bottle, yesterday, at home, Epalinges. The body is brown and opaque, white foam, smooth carbonation. In my point of view, it is a regular weizen bock, on the dark way. The taste is smooth at all the time, malt and wheat, bread and touch of sweetness and honey, discreet hop, banana, fruity, a good one of Erdinger better than the Weiss one
4.0 It is so difficult to get a quality lager locally but luckily my local Waitrose stock Erdinger. I like them all and if Klopp loves them then I like them even more.
4.8 spicy? not sure but truly delicious
3.6 500ml bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $15.99 variety pack 5+1 Very good.
3.9 Bottle from Waitrose, Portishead, UK. Dark brown with small brownish head, hazy. Aroma of roasted malts, dried fruits, bit of banana and caramel. Light tarty taste with dry aftertaste. Full body, long finish, average carbonation. I was very suprised to get this bottle at Waitrose and this is a very decent beer.
3.3 Bien hecha, en su estilo.
3.9 Brown-lager color with nice brownish-white foam. It smells good! A little wheat, a little bock, a little dried fruit. Very fine beer. It really looks a bit like the weaker bock-beers. It is also tart and caramel. Maybe a little wet. Dried fruity cognac aftertaste with wheat tickets background. Fine!!!0.5 bottle. *** Kitöltve barna láger szín, szép barnásfehér habbal. Az illata jó! Picit búzás, picit bak, picit aszalt gyümölcsös is. Nagyon finom sör. Valóban egy kicsit a gyengébb bak-sörökre hasonlít. Fanyar és karamelles is egyben. Talán icipicit vizes. Aszalt gyümölcsös konyakos mellékízek, a búzás jegyek háttérben. Finom!!!
3.7 A 500ml bottle from Waitrose. Pours a near black colour with a beige foamy head. Aromas & tastes of dark fruits, banana, caramel, bread, cloves, plum, chocolate & sweet malt. Medium body. Alcohol well hidden. Medium to thick caramel & dark fruits finish. Very well made weizenbock
