Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel

Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel

Bottle conditioned.

Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.

Erdinger Weissbier Dunkel is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.

The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort.

3.4 One of those beers I'd mistakenly thought I'd rated ruby brown decent head simple with the wheat a praline chocolate notes
3.6 0,5 L bottle served in a weizen glass. Poured dark Brown with three finger tan head. Aroma: caramel, Chocolate, vanilla, wheat, coriander, malts. Taste: wheat, coriander, caramel, plums, Chocolate, vanilla. Not bad...
3.2 Very bready toasted malts. Thick with a little sharp carbonation. A fading bitterness over a middlingly sweetness. Nothing complicated here, but not bad.
3.8 500ml bottle poured, 5.3% abv. Deep brown hazy beer with big, foamy, beige head. Malty, sweet aroma with fruity and roasted notes. Nice and balanced flavour of dark bread, dates, roast coffee. Sweet with bitter finish. Pretty good

2.8 Light sweet aroma of dark chocolate, walnuts, toasts & coffee. Black with a light brown head. Medium sweet & light sour taste. Medium body, oily texture & soft carbonation.
3.3 Pours chocolate dark brown. Noble hop and light roast nose, similar flavour. Light but very drinkable.
3.3 500 ml bottle from a local hawker centre. Pours a brown with a fair bit of white head in a hefeweizen glass; aroma of slight roasted malts and very slight noble hops; taste of slight roasted malts, chocolate. High carbonation is just right for a hefeweizen. Well balanced but not much taste to be fair. Definitely a beer for session drinking
3.4 Can at home. Pours brown color, lightly beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, yeast. Taste is medium sweet, lightly bitter, caramel, biscuits, malty.
2.9 Didn't realise when buying this is a wheat dunkel. No light through it, very murky. Very smooth and drinkable, a comforting beer, can't really taste any wheat in it so all good.
3.1 50cl bottle - Pours a dark brown colour with an average sized beige head that slowly settled. Aroma is malty, light roasted and sweet dark malt with some spicy notes. A moderately sweet taste, light roasted malt, caramel and light treacle flavours with a little spice and a crisp finish.
3.3 Tmava klasika, ktora neurazi, ani nenandchne :)
3.7 Beer of two halves: opening is spot on, lovely full carbonated alcohol and malt, creamy and satisfying balance. But, then it slides away a bit like flat, soapy water; a little sour, but mainly rather tasteless; disappointing end to a very, very promising start. Still very good.
3.5 Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown with a creamy off-white head. Nose - toffee, light orange and bready. Taste - chewy toffee, creamy orange and hazelnuts. Palate - medium bodied, creamy texture and a sweet finish. Overall - medium bodied, creamy texture.
3.6 12 oz bottle rating. Brown body with off white above average sized head. Aromas of cocoa, leather, cola, banana, clove. Quite drinkable and a bit light and refreshing, which is nice for a beer in this style.
