3.2 Bottle - courtesy of Braudog. Thanks Matt. Pours amber with a short white head. Aroma is hoppy and floral with light citrus notes and soft hop resins. Light caramel as well. taste is caramel, toasted malt, Bit O Honey, floral hops, hop resins and soft citrus notes. Body is medium with a moderate bubbly carbonation. Ends with more caramel, sweet malt, toasted grains, floral hops, citrus, grassy notes and hops resins.
3.9 Transfer from BA review on 10-29-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an amber-copper color with a huge white head that has fantastic retention. Over time the billowy head slowly fades over time to give a nice amount of lacing. Smell – The aroma is a nice mix of sweet and hoppy. A sweet tropical fruit aroma of tangerine, mango, and papaya mix with some citrus hop aromas as well as a lighter earthy smell. Taste – The taste starts out quite bready, with less sweetness then would have been anticipated from the nose. With the bready flavor is a lighter citrus flavor as well as a very light caramel taste. As the taste advances further the bready flavor fades some while the citrus hop grows stronger. With the citrus comes some earthy and pine hop flavors as well. In the end these flavors all combined to leave a citrus and earthy flavor in the mouth. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the creamier side with a carbonation level that is slightly below average. Both are quite nice for the hop and bready flavors and make for a good feeling brew. Overall – A nice drinking IPA with a smooth taste and good feel.
2.6 Not bad, maybe I’ll give it a better rating drinking it from a glass next time. More words
3.1 Bottle. Dark bronze, creamy head. Nice "beery" aroma of the outdoors -- malty and rich, with a decidedly tannic finish ... like oaken citrus maybe? Thick and viscous for sure. (#5570, 7/4/2014)
3.4 From a bottle. Pours almost clear copper with a bubbly frothy off white head. Smells like sweet, nutty, orange hops, with some roasted caramel and booze. Tastes malty, nutty, like roasted grains and alcohol.
3.3 Bottle. Pours clear amber with creamy off-white head. Aroma is cereal and bready malts, raisins, fig, and some floral notes. Flavor is dry malts, medium hop bitterness, some grassiness, and light citrus; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
2.7 Bottle from a sketchy tobacco place. Pours a hazy amber with cream colored head. Aroma of hops. Taste of bitterness with a slight citrus hint.
2.4 An orange to amber color with a white head. Aroma contains some caramel with a hint of citrus. The flavor is only slightly bitter if at all with a ton of caramel going on. Slightly oxidized which makes no sense since this brewery is new to town. Overall bleh. Misery aint far off brother
3.7 A bite of hop balanced out with a smooth malt characteristic. A very pleasant IPA.
2.4 12oz bottle, very little aroma of fruit, appearance is slightly hazy red gold, taste of slight fruit and pine with a little bitterness and malt, this is an overall average beer
3.0 12 ounce bottle. Pours golden orange with a nice white head. Aroma of citrus, malt, and floral. Taste is the same. A mild IPA is what I tasted. Pretty good.
2.9 Thanksgiving day lunchtime warm up, bottle split at Christine and DAves thanks to DLJ, 28/11/13. Hazed golden amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is grassy, citric tang, orange, light hop profile, touch of caramel maltiness. Taste comprises caramel malt, orange pith, light grapefruit, sprinkle of sucre, a little subdued overall. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy bitterness in the finish with a limted hop presence. Mediocre IPA.
3.6 Pours lightly hazy orange with a small white head. Smells lightly hopped and lightly malty, like a pale ale. Taste is just a little bitter, otherwise not very impressive. Medium-bodied with a wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Erie Brewing Misery Bay IPA finishes with a subtle bitterness.
3.4 Beer of the month club. Pours orange/amber color with minimal head. Great nose - floral , citrus and pine. Taste is good, but pretty standard...some piney hops, lemon. A touch of bitterness but pretty mild vs other IPAs. Nothing special, but good.
3.1 Bottle from beer club. Tried it with Railbender, and this one has more character. It’s a solid IPA, decent dose of hop to it, but also fairly predictable.
3.9 Bottle - via Ale in the Mail. Light copper color, clear. Clean, somewhat hoppy aroma. Really good. Very hoppy though with some maltiness too.
3.2 A amber body with an off white head that had nice retention and lace. Aroma had a nice Carmel malt presence. A nice hop profile. Mostly grapefruit but there was a generic bitterness to it. Flavor was initially sweet. Hops were nice and balanced. There was more bitterness than the aroma indicated. Finish was moderately dry.
3.4 12oz bottle. Poured a pretty clear golden color. Some light spicy grains, wheat notes, light yeast. Flavor was grains, sweet malts. Not too much in terms of hops, some earthy notes.
3.4 bottle. hazy orange with a small head. earthy orange and pine aroma. bitter up front with orange and lemon, caramel and sweeter in the finish. hints of diacetyl. overall its pretty nice.
2.7 Very malty, nutty, with a hint of sweet caramel. The hops are really absent from the flavor and the finish. Perhaps I got a mislabeled bottle.
3.1 Copper-colored pour with an aroma of grapefruit, resin, pine, and hops. Decent malt balance with caramel, grapefruit, and pine with a quick bitter hop ending.
3.5 12 oz bottle from the sampler case. Very little hops and lots of dryness. I’ll pass on the next one.
3.2 Bottle. Golden color, nice head and good lace. Citrus, hoppy flavor with good malt balance. Aroma is citrus.
3.2 Light copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, raisin and toffee. Taste is caramel sweetness with a mild bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Decent.
3.2 Reddish copper, beige head. Definitely a malt forward aroma, with a lot of toast and caramel, then some woody hops. Seems fairly full bodied. Flavor is sourdough, some subtle, vegetal hops, and a mildly crisp finish.
2.6 Bottle. Pours a clear light orange color with almost no head. Aroma is odd. Stale fruity and citrus hops with pale malt. Taste is super dry and fruity with lots of unappealing malt coming through. Kinda tastes like a fruity cereal but not in a good way. Dry finish with a stale hop aftertaste. I would’ve guessed this was a lager.
3.1 Dark straw color and honey aroma. Honey taste on the front, with a slightly bitter finish.
2.8 Medium golden-orange body, thin white head. Light pale malts, some citric hops, minimal but pleasant. Flavor is a bit more bland than the nose. Medium to light bodied, gentle carbonation, a bit thin with a weak finish.
2.2 nose is somewhat week, very nice haze to it, taste is more of a bitter hop that hits, you stays with the mouth for a bit as well, not real crazy about it .and i like ipas
3.2 (I had it straight from the tank unfiltered) It was a hazy golden yellow with a white head. Floral notes on the nose, citrus and well balanced bitterness on the tongue. Fresh hops on the backside with a good sized body.
