2.6 4/19/12. 12oz bottle. Clear golden pour with a small off-white head. Grainy caramel apple aroma with touches of corn. Sweet, caramel and apple flavors with hay and bits of old malt liquor mixed in there. Eh.
2.9 12 ounce bottle pour. Yellow color with a nice white head. Light hoppy and grainy crisp pilsner. Refreshing.
2.1 Date: February 27, 2011 Mode: Bottle Source: Trader Joe’s Appearance: clear gold, wispy white head, bits of drippy lace Aroma: dry cereal aroma, light floral hops, touch of sulphur Flavor: dry cereal flavor, light bitterness, light floral hops Aroma: 4/10; Appearance: 6/10; Flavor: 4/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 7/20 Rating: 2.1/5.0 Drinkability: 5/10 Score: *+ /4
1.7 12oz bottle pours clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma of musky malts almost cocoa, weird. Taste of corn and grain, tastes like chicken feed and over cooked asparagus. Pretty awful.
3.7 12 oz bottle. I do not agree with most of the ratings on this beer at this site. You guys have it wrong. translucent golden. Smell: light hop, but nice, zesty malt accents. Smells like peach. Taste: smooth, malty middle, nice dry finish. Mouthfeel: Incredibly balanced beer, with an excellent aftertaste of crystal malt freshness. Drinkability: Quite high
2.8 12oz. bottle: Last of 4 in a variety case. This one pours a clear, golden yellow color. There was a bit of a white head on it. It lingers awhile and leaves some lacing. Milder aroma. Faint grains, grassiness and maybe a hint of lemon. The taste is a bit thin also. Just a faint touch of bitterness, with a lighter body to it. Decent enough, but fairly unexciting. It would make a good lawnmower beer.
3.5 Pours a pale yellow with bright carbonation. Taste is smooth with a dry crisp finish. Pale malt offset by slight hops. Smooth.
3.0 Light golden color. Med head. Aroma of grass or hay malts. Lite bodied, lite carbonation. Like other erie brews, this tastes like earthy grass. It may be old beer but not sure. Not impressed.
2.4 355 ml bottle. From Pottsville, PA. Clear pale golden colour with tiny white head. Malt, earth and farmyard in aroma. Malt, mild hops, dryness and farmyard in flavour. Not very tasty.
2.4 Presque Isle pilsner from my birth town. Pours a pale gold yellow and has a thin fading head. The aroma has a sourness or lemon zest aspect. The flavor is sweet up front but the sourness comes through at the back of the mouth. Finish is clean. Not bad, but different.
1.7 nice looking and nice texture, but the flavor has a distinct chicken coop funk.
0.8 Bottle "thanks" to jcwattsrugger. Pours clear gold. White head. Nose of apple, baby poo in diapers and rotten vegetables. Taste is grain, corn and cuttlefish with asparagus. Very off. Must be a bad bottle. At least I hope so.
2.4 Bottle. Aroma has notes of cereal malts and honey mead. Dirty golden hue with an average white head that fully diminished and left no lace. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Palate is medium bodied and watery soft. Overall a malty macro tasting pilsner. Kind of bleh.
3.1 Bottle, clear amber color with thick white foam, aroma is malty, cocoa, nuts, flavors of vanilla shake, caramel, some sour on the finish
2.7 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a tall mug. The label only lists the abv (4.2%) and gives no other info. Appearance: The body is golden with deeper orange like highlights and a slight haze. Its head is light, white in color and fades quickly. It leaves a thin film covering with a ring of lace at the edge. Smell: The aroma is a bit off. It has notes of white bread crust with old leafy and oxidized hops. Taste/Palate: Its flavor is off as well. There is a light base of doughy and bready sweetness with a stale papery cardboard character over leafy hops. It finishes flat and dry with minimal hop bitterness. Notes: As it is this Pilsner fails in every way. I would have to think that this was an old bottle but without a freshness date there is no way to know.
3.1 Rerate: 5/27/13 - Distinct molasses in the aroma. Light, tawny, clear gold. Improved label since 2011. Dark syrup flavors, kinda like sugar smacks. Not very bitter. Malt forward. Probably a good cooking beer. Silky, medium mouthfeel. ABC, Bull Run. Original Rating: Bad clipart label, hazy honey gold, thin head. Cakey (slightly sweet, vanilla) malt aroma with some grassiness. Grassy, a little briny, modest hop thrust. Some sourness in the finish that isn’t the best foot forward. Mouthfeel is true to Bohemian. Meh. Wine World, Panama City Beach.
2.0 Light, a bit yeasty and bready. Quite watery, but with an underlying maltiness and hints of sweetness.
2.6 Nice amber/gold color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of bread/malt, & hops; Flavor of slight sweet malt, hops, grain, and light citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; Overall, a bit light - but decent pils.
3.2 Bottle. Mild aroma, some citrus comes through. Pours a light golden, white head, relatively light-body. Medium carbonation, Smooth and lightly sweet, lacks any bite, short finish. Overall I like it and would drink it again. Nothing fancy but a solid session beer.
2.7 Poured from a bottle. Smells of piney salty popcorn. Nice tan color with little head but does not taste like a true pislner. Some citrus and pine with some floral hops but nothing that stands out.. Would not get this again unless I needed it as a session beer.
2.5 Aroma of hay, toasted bread, caramel. Appearance is gold with white head. Flavor matches the nose with a touch of honey. Palate is bubbly. Just average.
2.7 bottle: grassy lagery yeast, crackery malts, dry light earhty hops. medium bodied and smooth. decent light pilsner. better than BMC at least.
3.1 Draught from Rattle’N’Hum. Poured a mild gold, minimal quick disappearing head. Grassy a bit, not a lot else. Inoffensive to OK.
3.5 A: pilsner glass. pours a clear bright yellow color. nice white head, moderate lacing and decent retention rate. S: nice sweet malty aroma. some biscuits and cake notes. T: very clean tasting. clean biscuit malts, with some light hops, very light. some light banana notes as well. M: clean and crisp. smooth palate. mellow/good carbonation level. D: very drinkable and a good pilsner.
2.9 Yellow, clear, very thin white head. Very corny aroma, maybe a little bit of fruitiness, as well. Clean and crisp. Some vague sweet notes some corn or grain, too. A little on the bland side.
2.5 Pours and looks like a great lager, aroma of hay and wet grain, taste is corny and of wet grains, more malty than hoppy which makes it go down very easy. Not a true pilsner in taste
2.9 Bottle pours a clear light gold with thin white head. Musty, sweet malt scent. Taste is malts, some straw with a hint of hops. Light and refreshing.
2.7 Very pale straw coloured pour. The nose is lightly crackery with a bit of fresh noble hoppiness. Lightly grassy but there is an oddly distracting cattiness on the back end of the beer. Light and fairly crisp. It’s not terrible but it’s not great either.
2.6 Golden colored with a creamy white head, Aroma of hay and herbs. Very light hoppy taste with a light finish.
3.2 This is a pretty good P--much maltier than the Scrimshaw, which is a good thing--and with an interesting citrus-fizzy theme underlying the traditional battle between hops and malt. Quite drinkable, though not quite up to Czech standards
