Evil Twin Ashtray Heart

Evil Twin Ashtray Heart

Danish: Usandsynlig tyktflydende, forførende mørk og smoking good.

Ingredienser: vand, malt, peated malt, humle, gær.
English Language Label: Amazingly rich, seductively dark and smoking good. Yes a real heartbreaker. We recommend only the truly skillful, heavyweight beer champions to battle this awfully addictive and overpowering smoked Stout. Be careful because this is the real deal with a minor Placebo effect. Makes invalids out of supermen.

3.5 Tasty smoked porter, pours a nice dark brown and has a nice smoky aroma, drink it at about 10 degrees.
3.8 12 oz single bottle from Molly’s Spirits. Black appearance with a light brown head. Aroma of smoked malt, roasted grain, oak, bitter chocolate, light coffee and light earth. Similar flavor, smoky, roasted and lightly spicy with moderate bitterness and light sweetness. Medium to full body with a dry finish. Nice.
4.0 This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a dark chocolate milky looking color with a sly brown tint to it. A thin edged off white to white foamy head started and dissipated. Spotty lacing runs here and there. The aroma starts off with some roasty coffee bean blending with some smoked malts. Sly sweet meat slides in to balance nicely. The flavor starts sweet and leads to a nice balance of smoke. Meaty portion tends to blend subtly with a crisp sweet aftertaste. Nice sweet and smoky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionably smooth sweet feel just rolling stealthily over my tongue. Beautifully and wonderfully done mouthfeel! Carbonation seems to hit spot on. Overall, damn nice smoked porter, watch out Alaskan Brewing Company, looks like you have some competition with this one.
4.0 the aroma is caramel and fruity with hihts of dried fruits, toffee, port and milk chocolate... the taste is fruity and caramel with notes of toffee, dried apples, dried plum, vanilla and milk chocolate... sweet and dry aftertaste... it’s not the smoked beer, it’s a good fruity porter...

3.9 12 oz. bottle. Opaque ebony pour with a thin film of cream on top. Aroma of smoky char, espresso, soy and a hint of caramel. Flavor has caramel, smoke with some bits of lean meat, soy, charred wood and a touch of apple. Medium-heavy body has too much explosive fizz but a pretty nice balance.

4.0 Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Dark roast nose, with smooth chocolate, berries, and licorice; also some phenolic notes with smoked fish and charred wood. Deep dark brown color with translucent edges. Flavors of boozy dark fruit, berries, burnt malt, fish oil, and soy sauce. Medium-heavy body, with a full, creamy feeling, a bit oily even, and lightly warming on the tongue. Very interesting nose and unusual flavors for a smoked beer.
3.8 Burnt coffee and chocolate aroma. Pours black with a tan head. Quite bitter taste, but nicely balanced. Smoke, coffee and dark chocolate. Feels rich and creamy, low carbonation. Not particularly long. Smooth and nice.
