Evil Twin Aún Más Café Jesús

Evil Twin Aún Más Café Jesús

Imperial Stout with Coffee Added
On a pilgrimmage for immortal craft beer we tripped on these heavenly coffee beans -- threw them in and created damn good aromas, a thick fudge-like body, pitch black color and obviously only made it in limited amounts. And the taste.... furthermore Jesus!

4.0 Really nice beer. Espresso and fudgy chocolate and some roastiness. Very rich and velvety smooth. A touch of booze heat, but his well in the darkness and sweetness.
3.6 Bottle thanks to Dennis. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong roast and cocoa. Slick, spice, roast, cocoa, bitter finish, very good.
4.0 11.2 oz single bottle from Bottles & Bitters at Sloan's Lake. Thick, black colored appearance with a thin brown head. Pleasant aroma of gourmet coffee, fudge, chocolate malt, mild roast and a light earthiness. Similar flavor, rich, dark and moderately sweet, balanced by a mild bitterness. Full body with soft carbonation, a smooth feel and a lingering finish. Pretty nice overall.

3.4 Bottle. Black, dark brown cream. Strong coffee nose, meaty chili and espresso, light gurkengose somehow. Medium full body, creamy mouthfeel. Full on chocolate and coffee, resinny hops, berrylike, wooden, a bit topsy turvy - unbalanced. Agressive roast/choc/coffee finish, sticky. only consumable in DK pints.
3.6 Bottle, many thanks anstei! Brown color with tiny head. Green pepper aroma, coffee, roasted. Taste is green pepper, coffee ground. Silky mouthfeel. Doesn't work out completely.
3.6 (bottle) pitch black in colour with a very small beige head. aroma of fresh coffee beans and moist earth, with a hint of toasted malts, some dark chocolate and brown sugar. flavour is mostly hazelnuts and vanilla icing, again rather earthy, with lots of ash, toasted malts and a semi-tart coffee bean finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation. too much coffee.
3.8 Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting. Pours black. Aroma is coffee, green peppers, ash, burnt malts. Body is heavy and strong, quite sweet, but also very bitter and burnt. Still coffee, also chocolate, but too much roast. Some spiciness. Good, but a bit too much on the burnt side.

4.3 Al club de tast de l’Olut. Sensacions inicials picants, com que portés jalapeño. Després s’esbaeixen i apareix el cafè extraordinàriament ben integrat igual que l’alcohol.
4.2 Shared bottle at Olut Sabadell. Black with vanilla head. Spicy and chili with some coffee aromas. Well balanced, not too sweet high alcohol but not too noticeable.

4.1 Sample at Lizardville Westerville during the Evil Twin Beer and Doughnuts Night event on 05/16/2017. Brown-black color with a medium foamy khaki head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate fudge, malt, roasted coffee and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
3.7 Bottle at Max’s Taphouse. Pours jet black with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Huge malty chocolaty notes on the nose and tongue. I can’t say I’m getting much coffee action out of this. It does hide it’s booze well but this has been my least favorite, though still quite good, of this series.
4.2 330ml bottle courtesy of Steve. This was the booziest o the Jesus lineup. Pours out black with a small beige ring. Aroma features lots of coffee, dark roasty malts and some semi-sweet chocolate. Taste brings more roast malts and coffee, mildly sweet finish and lots of alcohol heat.
4.1 Bottle from Gambrinus. Pours a pitch black with no head. Big milk chocolate and creamy marshmallow nose with some faint coffee. Soft carbonation with more marshmallow cream, cafe latte, & cacao. Endless cream, coffee and milk chocolate...some ovaltine in there as well. Great stuff.
4.1 Pours black with mocha foam head that is fine and leaves a ring of foam hugging my glass. The aroma is of smoke, chocolate, booze, earthy coffee, and a sugary sweet scent. Tasting is rather smooth with a full body and mouth feel. I picked up on a mildly bitter roasted coffee taste. There was also flavors of chocolate, sweet sugary malts, and a pleasant booze taste. Overall this is a nicely done coffee stout. For a 12 abv brew it was balanced and goes down well.
