Evil Twin Even More Jesus

Evil Twin Even More Jesus

Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

3.9 Can shared with Grumbo and SHIG. Aroma of plum, vanilla and liquorice. Taste is liquorice, fudge, dark fruits and ashy. Very good.
4.2 Can shared by Grumbo thanks to Dan: Poured a black with a light brown head. Aroma is rich roasted malts, chocolate, boozy, coffee. Taste is sweet toffee, roasty malts, chocolate, boozy, caramel, licorice.
4.1 4/9/2021. Can shared at Suffolk’s RateBeerian gathering. From Hopsters, Ipswich courtesy of ITFCdan. Pours black with a frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of liquorice, ash, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, slight peppery notes. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Good stuff.
4.1 Roasted leather aroma. Oil. Dark roast espresso. Licorice and smoke. Full. Intense darkness.
4.3 Can from Eltham Wines. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is Turkish coffee, smoke, muscovado sugar, dark chocolate, cola. Taste is dark chocolate, more Turkish coffee, profiteroles, brown sugar, liquorice toffee. Rich, uber warming finish.
3.9 473ml (US pint) can – Pours black with an average sized long lasting light brown head. Aroma is rich sweet roasted malts, dark bitter chocolate, burnt coffee, prunes and alcohol notes. A sweet, full bodied, rich roasted malt taste, caramel, dark chocolate, liquorice and dark fruit flavours with a warming roasted bitter finish. Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth and velvety. Nice.
3.8 Beautiful black pour w/ a retaining beige head & some lacing. The aroma is quite roasty w/ a hint of booze. The flavor is very roasty w/ almost no sweetness. Kind of an old school Russian imperial feel to this. Big, bold, & powerful.
4.2 US Pint Can from beerhop. Consumed greedily on my 41st birthday during lockdown 27. Fantastic. Thick. Raisins, coffee, whisky, nuts, chocolate. A really good long smooth burn. Great
3.3 Pours deep black with a great tan head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, and just hints of vanilla and dates. Taste is big roasted malt and coffee. It overwhelms most subtlety and delicate flavors. Full bodied, mildly creamy. Booze is very obviously present. A fun try but there are other big beers that I like more.
4.1 Can 0,50L. Pours pitch black color with small, creamy, light brown head. Aroma is (surprisingly) weak: light chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, wood. Taste starts moderate bitter with chocolate and tobacco, while finish is heavy bitter, slightly spicy with peppery touch. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Really rich and smooth stout with warming finish.
3.5 Well stored bottle. Black body under a thin, beige head. A bit light in aroma, dark malt, coffee and pine. Taste is smooth for the high alcohol, much malt, chocolate, coffee and warming alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste.
4.1 Can at Home. Roasted malts, coffee, dark choc, heavy bodied, slightly alcoholic, bit of vanilla, wood. Purchased at Village Beer Merchant
3.2 Smell-weak, malt, roast, some chocolate. Foam- medium-thick to thick, alcohol, malt, chocolate, roast, bitterness. Head is medium-large, very dark brown and nice looking foam. Appearance-simple can. Blac, weak carbonation. From - stout glass Taste - sweet, bitter-sweet, malt, alcohol, some caramel, bit acidic tones and faint sourness somewhere. Still plenty sweet, roasty, and boozy, not the best, but drinkable for sure. Was expecting more.
3.9 Can. Aroma- cocoa powder, dark chocolate, some ashy notes. Deep composition. After some time, you can feel also pine hoppy notes. Black, unclear, with a medium-low, but short lasting head. Taste- classic, distinct, even aggressive approach to the Imperial Stout. Strong cocoa, coffee, maybe some dark chocolate and subtle forest berries in the background. Medium-high, hoppy, long lasting bitterness in the aftertaste. No alcohol feeling. Medium bodied, with a minimal, just right carbonation. This is an icon of an Imperial Stout. Awesome, without any drawbacks.
3.9 samen met yves bij mij thuis een zwart kleurig lichaam met een bruinige kop en met een geroostende mout koffie aroma een geroostende mout koffie chocolat zoet alcoholische bitter smaak met een alcoholische bitter einde
4.1 Shared with Wim at his home. Black colored beer with small brown head and no carbonation. Malty coffee aroma. Finish is malty coffee mucca bitter.
3.9 Can at Fortnight Wine Bar (only 4$!) in downtown Providence, RI. Black with a 1-inch medium-brown fine head with moderate retention. Aroma is soy sauce, chocolate, some brown sugar, some BBQ sauce. Bit of chocolate milk (like a yoohoo carton.) Body is medium-medium-heavy weight, syrupy, bit oily, carbonation is medium-fine, medium-light burn, silky mouthfeel. Flavor is huge mix of chocolate, and a sort of BBQ/soy chewy burnt toffee that I would have difficulty describing - it's not really salty, but has a dark richness to it. The finished has a burnt / dark-roast coffee note that's light but finishes the flavor profile well and lingers a while. My very desensitized palate still finds this incredibly strong flavored! Overall, this is an impressive non-bourbon-barrel-aged stout that still has the qualities of a bomb meant for aging and sipping.
3.4 @home. Look: Pours sunblocking black with a small not long lasting tan head. Nose: Coffee, burnt sugar, malts. Taste: Oily liquorice, some sweetness, medium bitterness in after where I also get a faint coffee. Light but noticeable carbonation. The high alcohol is not very noticeable (in the taste). Overall: A nice drinkable but also medium heavy imp stout.
4.0 Copenhagen 24/6 2020. 47,3 cl can from Vild med Vin web-shop. Evil Twin's shining motive done in black and dark grey with the weird and twisted name in gold letters. Pours opaque dark brown with a fairly big, dark beige head. Settles as thin but creamy layer of foam managing to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of. roma is intense wit a strong sweetness and a more earthy, spicy odor rummaging just behind. Sweet brown sugar, chocolate, dark roasted malts. Leather, wet soil, tobacco. Medium strong carbonation. Thick, viscous, soft smooth yet tingling texture. Slightly sticky. Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger, dry bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingring. Finish is dark and dry. Quite bitter Imperial Porter where I hardly noticed the prominent ABV.
4.5 44cl can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Pours cloudy black with a very thin, lasting, beige head. Aroma of candied fig, melting toffee, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate sauce, biscuit, vanilla, toast, coffee & cream, brown rum, sweet tobacco. Taste is full-on maltiness: sweet candied fig, prune, thick toffee, chocolate, candied nuts & cream, subtle vanilla effect by result, softly bitter spices & toast for balance with a sweetish-umami element of steak sauce throughout. Dry, toasty, peppery hoppy finish, more chocolate sauce & dried fruit in combination with coffee roast & heating whisky-like alcohol. Full body, oily-creamy texture, soft carbonation. Decadent Russian Imperial Stout, sweet & creamy but not yet pastry style, complex and heavy to drink.
4.2 Dark color with lasting head. Great mouthfeel. Aroma is thick og burned caramel, molasses and dark roasted malt. Rich, balanced and complex taste of caramel, coffee and dark chocolate mixed with the bitternes of the roasted malt. Very intense but delicious stout.
5.0 Liquide noir huileux mousse courte marron profond. Nez puissant sur le chocolat noir et le pruneaux. En bouche c'est huileux et ça nappe le palais avec un chocolat noir très amer et une pointe boisée. Superbe imperial stout que je considère comme LA RÉFÉRENCE !
3.8 Dark and strong!
4.0 Black body with tan head. Aroma caramel burnt caramel plums sherry some booze in the background. Taste is caramel red wine wood dried fruits roasted malts. Aftertaste is malty booze some sherry.
3.5 Zwart bier met ruime Mokka schuimkraag. Dikke siroop achtig bier met een zwarte chocolade bittere afdronk
3.1 Draught. Sherry, brown sugar, pumpernikel, esters, chocolate cream. Full, creamy. Big potential ruined somewhat by green apple acetaldehyde.
3.5 odd carbonation. lasting head. a bit old. a bit sour. more drinkable than initially. fine.
4.5 deep rich stout. not super overwhelming either for 12% rich chocolate darkfruit flavors, a little woody, very thick and oily. just overall tasty stuff.
4.4 Black color. Medium sized , beige head. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and prunes in the aroma. Well balanced taste where sweetness and roasted bitterness just complete each other.
4.0 Jesus, what a beer. Pitch black, sweet roasted malts nose. Chocolate, coffee tones, nicely balanced out with some sweetness.
