Evil Twin Even More Pecan Pie Jesus

Evil Twin Even More Pecan Pie Jesus

Imperial Stout brewed with Molasses and with Pecan Extract added

A few times in the history of craft beer a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, molasses, pecan extract and obviously only made in limited amounts. People – this is the taste of rare!

3.6 Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium size brown foamy head with OK retention with light lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate malt notes with some light hazelnut/pecan notes also perceptible. Taste is also a mix of sweet chocolate malt notes with some light hazelnut/pecan notes and heavy molasses notes can also be detected. Body is pretty full with oily texture and good carbonation with no real apparent alcohol notes. Not bad but a bit overwhelming.
3.9 Dark brown pour with slightly nutty nose. Roasted malts, toffee, coffee and a hint of the pecan: well balanced!
3.4 My least liked from the Jushka series. Infused sweet pecan and drying finish. Thin.
3.9 50ml can served in snifter glass. Purchased at La Mise en Bière - Lausanne. A: Pours a deep oily black color forming a medium and solid beige head with medium retention that forms and leaves some soapy spotty lacings in the glass. S: Sweet, roasted and nutty nose. A bit booze. Strong notes of roasted malts, licorice, pecan, black chocolate, coffee beans, sweet bread, earth and toffee. Light notes of grassy hops. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Again, strong notes of roasted malts, vanilla, licorice, pecan, black chocolate, coffee beans, sweet bread, earth and caramel. Becomes quickly quite bitter and dry. Great grassy hops and roasted bittereness. Strong lingering bitterness. M: Heavy body. Creamy and molasses. Looks like black oil. Medium to low carbonation. Roasted, grassy and very molasses aftertaste. Candi sugar. It lacks a bit of sweetness to balance. O: Good drinkability. Great Imperial Stout.

3.0 Can. A- Pecan pie. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Bitter, roasty, char, pecans, dry, cocoa. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Smelled like the name indicates but taste was not quite there. Did get some pecan and sweetness but this big old beer also showed showed it's booze and some bitterness. Molasses seemed to add to alcohol content rather than flavor. Okay but not my favorite Jesus by any means.

3.7 A 1 pint can, batch #001, but with no clear canned on or best before date. Poured into a snifter glass. It was black in colour with a one finger brown head that had decent retention while leaving some spotty lacing. Aromas sweet, caramel, toffee, chocolate, nutty, nougat, cocoa, light roast. Tastes moderately sweet, roast, butterscotch, toffee, caramel, vanilla, nutty, pecan, hint of dark fruits with a lightly bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall perhaps on the verge of being too sweet for me with the butterscotch and dark fruit flavours. Pecan extract was used but the nuttiness was not as strong as I would have hoped for.

Fina y cierta densidad. Seca al final. Bastante buena. Para repetir sin duda.
4.2 W aromacie czekolada, orzechy i karmel. W smaku orzechy, czekolada deserowa oraz nuty suszonych, czerwonych owoców. Na dalszym planie karmel. Na finiszu fajna palona goryczka. Piwo dobrze ułożone z niewyczuwalnym alkoholem.
3.9 Can. Pours opaque black, large creamy brown head, dissipates slowly leaving great residual and lacing. Aroma is quite nutty, roasty, bakers chocolate. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter. Full body, creamy and smooth in the mouth.
4.3 Inky black hue with a thin khaki colored head. Rich deep aroma of roast and cocoa and pecan and coffee and a little burnt toffee. Big full roasty flavor that’s got an inky sweetness and earthy molasses tones with black coffee and pecan back notes. Boozy black malty finish with bitter dark chocolate lingering.
4.2 Black pour, big brown head. Light nutty and caramelly aroma, big freaking flavor, with tons of pecan, nuts, caramel, toffee, chocolate, hints of butterscotch, vanilla, oak, brown sugar... damn this is tasty! Full bodied. A fantastic beer.
3.6 Batch 004. Wygląd: czarne z rubinowymi przebłyskami, piana drobno i średnio pęcherzykowa szybko opada do zera. Piwo nieco alkoholowe lekko rozgrzewa w przełyk. Osobiście melasa wychodzi przed szereg a gdzieś tam w tle czuć kawę i czekoladę - brak balansu. Orzechów nie ma tu wcale - rozczarowanie. Piwo mocno średnie nie warte swojej ceny.
3.6 Canette 473ml.
Bien mais ressemble beaucoup àa Even More Jesus originale.
