Inspired by a mind blowing dessert created by a Nordic eatery that popped up in the middle of the Mexican jungle. Pasilla mixe chiles, honey, cocoa nibs and tangerine peel. It’s wild. Oh yeah, baby.

3.6Deep brown pour, small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, honey, roast, spice, fruit. Taste follows. Certain plenty of chocolate, and the honey sweetness and chili spice too, with some tangerine notes. Would have preferred it without the honey. Maybe a bit thin but long sticky finish.
3.5Black with a fairly tall brown head. Decent lacing. Aroma: Dark chocolate, liqourice, roasted malt and coffee. Taste is bitter chocolate and liqourice with a tiny bit of heat from the chili. Thick mouthfeel.
3.412 oz. can. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, with moderate lacing, over a clear dark brown (SRM 35) body......nose is roasted malts with cocoa, chocolate, coffee, caramel, licorice, citrus fruit notes, slight herbal hop tones, balance to the malts.......taste is roasted malts with cocoa, coffee, caramel tones, honey notes without sweetness, moderate chili notes, dry throughout, moderate hop bitter finish, malts dominant.....mouth feel, medium body, mild alcohol warmth, mild carbonation. The very high alcohol is quite hidden by malts The aroma and taste are moderately simple given the many ingredients. It is drinkable, but not the superb complexity of the style of Imperial Stout.
2.6355 ml can ordered online from the LCBO. Pours a very dark brown colour with modest-sized light tan head. Aroma is licorice, chilli, roast and cocoa. Flavour has overwhelming chilli heat, some roast and cocoa as well as licorice. Lingering chilli heat. Way too much chilli!
2.2Black colour. Brown head, three fingers, short retention. 10 seconds and the head is gone, as fast as a Coca-Cola. You can hear the same sound when the little bubbles disappear. Dirties the glass. When the head is gone, you can see the oils at the top of the black. Difficult to see the carbonation because of the darkness. Oily texture with little fizz. Aroma is spicy, sweet. Caramel, honey, chili, weird spice note. Taste is chili, weird spices, caramel, honey, roots. Traces of cedar wood or something like that. Sweet. Soft bitterness at the end. Lingering spicy note in afertaste. Alcohol well integrated. It's wild and stupid, oh, yeah, baby! Weird and the opposite of quaffable, almost disgusting. Incomprehensible brew; the price is offensive. Two sips of this pandemonium are enough.
3.3Aroma: Medium-high coffee, roasty, Medium vanilla, leather. Medium-light molasses, licorice.
Appearance: Small to Massive bubbles. Low retention. Opaque black body.
Flavour: Medium-high pepper/chili (no heat). Medium licorice, Medium-high bitterness. Dry finish with licorice.
Mouthfeel: Light warming. Medium-full body. Medium-low carbonation
Overall: The chili present on first sip, but otherwise little. A nice beer. Fair spice notes
355 ml can, poured.
Fruit/Spice beer (chili)
20C. Imperial Stout
3.2Canette 33cl.
3.6Can. Aroma.of roasted malt , caramel, cacao, chili and orange peel. Heavy sweet and bitter with lingering orange peel notes. Full and sticky. Descent.
3.6Can. It pours jet black with a creamy beige head. The aroma is peppery, herbal with notes of oranges and light roast. Little spice. Some licorice. The flavor is quite bitter and moderate sweet. Light chili burn. Roasted and herbal notes into the far finish.
4.0Can. Dark brown, brown foam. Aroma: mandarin and chilies, syrup, honey and cocoa, a bit of strong alcohol, caramel and pies. Taste: strong, warming, chili, candied mandarins, berry jam, cocoa, slightly bitter chocolate, bitter finish, wery warming.
3.0Oily black pour with almost no head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate and hints of honey. Flavour is chocolate, coffee as well as hints of tangerine peel. Not much honey or chilli. Average.
3.6Sweetish more than the heat, a decent drink to have once. Can from Premier Gourmet. No alcohol felt until finishing the can.
3.8Lata 33 CL en el Lupulo Feroz Oviedo 28..12..2018. (r161).
Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro que desaparece al poco tiempo casi por completo.
Sabores intensos maltosos tostados con buena dosis de especiados, suaves cacaos y final ligeramente picante terrosos de chiles. Cierto dulzor.
Cuerpo medio con bastante sabor con suave a Margo final algo seco.
3.62018/12/22 - Pours a black motor oil colour with a frothy, dark brown head that slowly reduces and leaves ample lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, coffee, vegetal chili, tangerine and dark cocoa. Taste is dark cocoa, lots of chili, toasted malt and roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is medium to full and oily with soft carbonation and a drying, light chili burn finish. Pretty good, but I think it would have been better if the chili was a little less prominent.
3.2Can. Pours a black colour with a medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, tangerine peel, some cacao, chilli and subtle earth. Taste of chilli heat, earth, some smoke, slight coffee, cacao, a touch of honey and subtle orange. Full bodied and moderate carbonation. A sweetish, chocolate and chilli heat finish. TOO MUCH CHILLI! Burnt my mouth for ages so flavours described are what I got mainly in the aftertaste. A touch of honey sweetness but not enough. Couldn’t finish.
3.6The description explains the aroma. Honey, cocoa, tangerine, not really getting any chilies. Black, bubbly with a dark brown head. Tastes of heavy roast, some coffee/cocoa flavors with light honey and tangerine in the aftertaste. Good but too bitter. May taste better with some age. Palate is smooth but could use more heft. ABV well hidden.
3.5Can. Jet black with small, tan but not very solid head and some lacing. Medium aromas of cocoa, dar chocolate and a bit of coffee. Taste is spicy like hell, with a bit tart and ashy finish. Interesting, a bit tiring but exactly as promised.
3.5Enjoined from a can at home. Big bubbly head . Very dark and pretty in color. Orange peel and chili in aroma. Too bad I can't find them in taste. Taste is medium bodied, rich in coffee and little chocolate. Missing some depth in aftertaste. A nice beer but I expected more.
3.6During Black Christmas 2018. Very dark brown. Some fruits and roasted malt. Ink notes. Pretty good.
3.3Burk krokius .
4.0Bought online from the LCBO, this was my third tasting from our gathering last Friday. I was afraid of this one as it contains some chilli, but this beer is not spicy at all, just like a good Thai meal. Complex, well-balanced and amazingly tasty. Well done.
4.0Appearance: Deep brown black. finger of tan foam.
Nose: Rich chocolate. Deep roasted cocoa. Strong coconut hints.
Taste: Sweet dark chocolate, coconut, touches of chili heat. Sweet malt.
Body: Fuller and smooth. Soft bubbles
Parting thoughts: A pretty complex and powerful flavor palate. A lot going on. essentially chocolate coconut with just a little spice mixed in for fun. Hefty. Feels every bit of it’s ABV. Price point is a bit imposing, however.
3.90,355l can shared @ Malja. Pours very dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with some coffee, cacao nibs, perhaps some chili. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, coffee, cacao, chili, hops. Very good.
4.312 fl oz can. Appearance of the pour is a dark brown black with one finger of tan froth, which dissipates to almost nothing quite quickly. Aroma is rich dark chocolates, some roasted malt. Taste is sweet, as described on the blurb, mainly cocoa and chocolate flavours. The honey and tangerine peel is not obvious, unfortunately. The chillin burn lightly at the back of the throat, almost like an alcohol burn. Great, smooth, rich mouthfeel.
3.6Bottle. Opaque black with bubbly brownish head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, can, alcohol, a bit "green", chili, earthy. The flavor is mild bitter with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roast, chili, a bit hot, alcohol, "green". Full-bodied.
3.3Sampled at Ace & Kees festival. Very dark brown with dark beige head. Molasses, chili 🔥, earthy chilies, cocoa, licorice, roast, some coffee. Medium sweet and over medium bitter. Over medium bodied with lots of chili heat. Way too hot.
3.4Sampled at Ace&Kees. Pours black with a tan head. Quite a chilli burn, vegetal peppers, roasted malts, cocoa, molasses. Bit heavy on the pepper.
