Evil Twin Lil' B

Evil Twin Lil' B

Shall one compare thee to a fair beer,
Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice.
Thou art more complex, brave and cunning.
Thou have changed more than a brew will ever.
Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

3.8 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malts, oak and bourbon, complex malty. Taste is moderate sweet dark malty, treacle, vanilla and bourbon, very good.
4.1 Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 23.04.18. Ebony. Small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and perhaps bourbon. Sweet taste, with dark malt, prunes, dates and still a hint of bourbon. Round and creamy mouthfeel. Good!
2.1 Too sweet, a bit bland taste, taste of high alcohol. Chocolate cake beer, lots of vanilla
4.0 Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with little beige head. Aroma of raisins, cherries, whisky, dark chocolate. Tastes sweet and fruity. Medium bodied.
4.3 Pours virtually black from the bottle. The thin, tan creamy head soon fades. Some beers of this style have notes of prune in the aroma but I don’t remember one with as much prune as this. Smells like prune, more prune, and apple juice. The roasted dark chocolate first starts to compete with the prune on the swill, and underneath it all lingers a pervasive note of apple juice. Finishes much the same, full of apple, prune, and roasted grains. Body is thick and oily, carbonation is mild, alcohol is hidden. Reading this all back it doesn’t sound especially appetizing, but the chocolate and fruit work very well together. Dangerously drinkable. Nice.
3.6 355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11.5%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, molasses and oak, a hint of whiskey. The flavour is fairly sweet, with loads of molasses and chocolate, also roast malts, oak and whiskey. Moderate bitterness.
4.0 Bottle. Opaque black color with tanned head. Aroma has dark malt, raisins, dark fruits, cocoa, coffee. Taste is malty with long a bit sweet aftertaste. Flavors of ripe fruits, coffee, cocoa and vanilla.
3.9 Nice imperial porter. Lots of flavour but stays quite a same. Full body. Quite boozy. Needs more flavours and less booze.
4.0 Donker bruine tot zwarte kleur met kleine beige schuimkraag. Geur is melkchocolade en het zoete van dadels. Smaak is melkchocola, rijpe banaan, zoet, creamy en een tikkeltje koffie.
4.3 Bottle. 2014 Vintage . Pours black , medium sized, medium low stability, mocha colored head. Smell is roasty, very minor booze notes rising up. pure cocoa as well ( the very, very intense chocolate ) thus, not sweet at all ( in the perception of the scent ) . Taste is full, roasty, tad bitter, very creamy, dark chocolate ( not as pure as the scent provided, a much more balanced, more 'sweeter' chocolate now, without being sweet overall. dark fruits, some berries as well. very intense taste, very complex and simply put, very very good ! doesn't show any age problems (yet?) which is also proving the brewer's skill ( or luck ? ;) ) allround, this is indeed a great beer. Body is medium-thick to thick ( for the style, overall, this is syrupy ) and carbonation is medium low to low ( the way I like it) . This ain't a dissapointement at all !
4.1 Czarne nieprzezroczyste piwo z kremową obfitą pianą. Aromat czekolady, pralinek z alkoholem. W smaku czekoladki, trochę ciemnych owoców, bourbon, lekko alkoholowe. Słodkie, goryczka na niskim poziomie. Przyjemne rozgrzewające piwo
3.7 Pours black with no real head. There is a real sweet aroma of chocolate. Flavor is more of a cherry flavor with hints of chocolate and roasted malts with some booze. Overall a real good Porter but I'm real picky when I get a porter and I have other favorites.
4.3 355ml bottle, a little over a year old I think. Pours black with a thin tan head which quickly disappears. Aroma of dark fruits, molasses, chocolate. Taste is sweet, dark malts, dark fruits, berries, molasses, chocolate, some coffee, slight booziness and warming sensation but it's well hidden considering the ABV. Full bodied, soft carbonation, smooth velvety mouthfeel. A fantastic imperial porter.
4.0 On tap @ BierCaB. Very dark brown with a small tan head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, fruit, caramel and hops. Full body with a long bitter / fruity finish.
4.5 Pours black with brown head. A strong bourbon, coffee and chocolate aroma. A strong mix of flavors - coffee, chocolate, bourbon, malts, and light vanilla. A balanced afteraste of malts, bourbon, and chocolate.
3.7 A rich and high ABV brew for after dinner nightcap. A nose of rich resin. The tongue of tenacious prune aftertaste. Lovely, if there were a smidgen more sweetness and thickness for the tongue... well that would be lovely.
4.5 330 ml bottle,bb 01/07/2026. Black,thin tan head,minimal lacing. Aroma - dark chocolate,coffee beans,port/sherry. Taste - sweet sherry/port,dark chocolate,dark fruits. Oily,creamy. Fantastic.
4.0 Svart med lavt beige skum. Lukter søt engelsk lakris og lett kaffe. Fyldig. Engelsk lakris, svisker, portvin og masse fyldig alkohol som sitter helt ut
4.4 Aroma; roasted malts fruity style, fruit bowl incl berries, pruney malts, a super blend, mature with oakey dokey edge. Look; black, it’s a porter! Taste; roasted malts, malted dark syrup, sweet nut, dark fruits blended with chocolate bites, sweet liquorice fudge - lingering sweet solid finish. Feel; completely! Overall; and it’s not hard to get it either. WOW-Porter! [Btl@Agenturet]

4.0 Aroma dominated by chocolate and warm alcohol, faint toffee and cocoa. Same for the taste. Medium carbonation and medium body, oily and a bit creamy. Nice long and warm finish of sweet molasse and alcohol.
3.8 Bottle from the HAND ,Falmouth , black with beige head with a dark roasted malt , toffee , dark chocolate and molasses taste with a aftertaste of dark malt ,dark chocolate and molasses mainly but a truly awesome porter .
4.3 Pours black and dense, with a small brown head, which faded quickly, slimy lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruit and vanilla. Tastes boozy, medium sweet, low bitterness, notes of vanilla, roasted malts, ripe dark fruits and molasses. Full body, slick feel, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall a very stout-ish porter, thick, tasty: a silent (not too silent) killer.
4.1 Bottle from Utobeer Market Stall, Borough. Black pour with a tan head. Coffee, licorice, cola, dark chocolate, caramel aroma. Flavours of dark roast coffee, raisin, cocoa, cola, dark chocolate. Coffee roast linger on the palate. Dry, sweet smoky finish.Lovely stuff, right up my street.

4.3 Piwo skonsumowane. Ocena na podstawie retrospekcji w celu uzupełnienia profilu.
4.0 Bottled (backlog). Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some raisins, plum, ripe fruits, mild ashes as well as some slight coffee and nutty notes. Flavour is syrupy, some roasted malts, nuts, mild toffee, coffee and some alcohol as well as some dried dark fruits to it. Overall rather sweet, but still quite a pleasant one.
4.0 Klares, sehr dunkles Braun mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Röstmalzig, süßlich, dunkle Schokolade, leicht fruchtig, Waldbeeren, etwas alkoholisch, leicht bitter.
3.8 Pours a very dark brown or black color. Maybe half finger brown head. Poor retention, very light lacing. Not much to see here. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, caramel, brown sugar. Lots of dark fruits, especially prunes. Dark roasted malts. Lots of malt. Whiff of alcohol. Taste is burnt brown sugar. Dark fruits, especially prunes. Chocolate, caramel. Not too much coffee. It actually reminds me of a barleywine. Quite sweet. Mouthfeel is full bodied, no doubt about it. Sweet, sticky, thick, heavy. Also a little alcohol bitterness. Overall, I initially rated this quite low, but it has grown on me. It took a while, but I like it quite a bit. No, I wouldn’t recommend this to most people, but I would buy it again.
