Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail

Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail

English: Did you like Before During and after Christmas? Maybe thought it pored brilliantly, the alcohol was admirable well hidden and you loved how the arrogant amount of hops numbed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscure amount of hops that went down this explosive fella – it’s a tour de force in hoppyness and by far the craziest beer ever made from Evil Twin – but not the last.

3.7 On tap at Royal Albert Hotel, Surry Hills. Aroma: Candy orange, biscuity malt, mild tropical notes.Taste: Candy orange, sweet lemon, biscuity malt, mild pine, mild pineapple and pineapple flavours. Moderate to high sweetness. A bit too sweet. Moderate carbonation. This was decent.
4.2 From can in tulip. Pours clear deep gold with white head. Citrus fruit aroma that blends well into the taste and finish. Nicely balanced for a 12%er
3.9 Keg at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. A hazy golden colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of pine, resin, grapefruit, some orange, slight nail varnish and subtle spicy, herbal hops. Taste of pine, resin, grapefruit, some orange, nail varnish, alcohol, slight nutty malts and subtle spicy, herbal hops. Full bodied and an oily texture. A long, dry, alcoholic, resinous hop bitterness in the finish. Booze, booze, booze! Today’s standards this is an imperial WCIPA on speed. Massive bitterness, lots of pine and resin but boy is it flavoursome.
3.4 Pours yellow orange with a small head. Fruity aroma with cheese, vanilla and alcohol. Tastes fruity with alcohol, cheese and orange notes. Medium body
4.0 DATE: May 4, 2018... OCCASION: mulching dump, day one complete... May the Fourth be with me as I take on this beast of a beer!... GLASSWARE: Duvel snifter... pours a murky tangerine body, thick with bubbles that build a reasonable ring of white head... handsome fresh from a same-day grunt... the IBUs on this must be set to kill, as mango, tangerine, pineapple, dense swampy basement, berry, and bourbon-like sweetness... the sweetness extends to the mouthfeel, a syrupy heaviness that sips like a bourbon, with the threat of 13% haunting in every waft... each sip coats like a scotch, with an appreciable burn that cautions... an orange, pineapple and mango citrus kick hits immediately in the flavor profile, while vanilla, oak, resin and caramel... loaded for bear, this one explodes out the bottle as its name aptly implies... at this ABV, the only knock may be that it is too much...too much like cough syrup in some moments, while confidently a tuned-down whiskey... great name, worthwhile payoff, dangerous strength--I was talked into this by the Liquor Factory bartender, though I did intend to pair this with a Macanudo... Evil Genius strikes again with a heavyweight...
3.7 from can to glass. clear light amber color. whitehead of big bubbles, disappearing quickly. aroma of tropical fruits, mango and hops. rich bitterness from first sip until aftertaste, quite high carbonation. solid imperial ipa.
3.7 The first touch is too sweet and boozy but give it a chance. After a few sips it gets much more sessionable. Aroma is overripe mango, apricot, malt and booze. Full body, avg carb and sirupy mf. Taste boozy, rich and intense with sweet dominating the bitter. Hints of orange bitter, overripe mango and apricot liqueur. Same follows in the aftertaste.
4.0 19.04.2018 -- a 12oz can from qoqa. pours a hazy golden with a big frothy head. aroma of apricots, mango, flowers. flavour of christmas pudding, oranges, vanilla. lots of hops. not balanced, but crazy in its own way.
4.5 This one is a head-scratcher for sure. I have a circuit of stores I traverse because it is always out of stock. If you are looking for normal or easily defined beer then stay away. It is sweet, syrupy and opinionated as hell. Closest thing I can think of in terms of comparables is Lagunitas Brown Sugar - another polarizing beer!
3.6 3/31/18 With A watching the office and cooking burgers after a lazy Saturday. Poured from can. Hazy bright orange with a medium head that fades quickly but leaves some lacing. Nose is lots of sweet citrus hops and bready malt. Strong and smells good. Taste is tons of bitter citrus hops and biscuity malt sweetness. Lots of sweetness with a fair bit of bitterness. Orange and maybe lime coming through. Alcohol comes through as well. Lots of good flavors but it’s not as clean as it could be. Overall, maybe the extra alcohol makes it tough but this is much rougher and less cohesive than many of the other ~10% DIPA’s I’ve had. Not a bad beer but I’m honestly not a big fan.
3.1 Can 0,33. Pours clear orange with large white head, good retention. Malt, caramel, honney, hops. Taste is heavy on honney, tropical fruits, alcohol is noticeable. Medium to full body and average carbonation.
4.0 can. slightly murked gold. small head that fades away quickly. aroma: massive malts, honey, sherry, peppery hops. full body. taste: clean, malty, somewhat fruity. background bitterness. peppery. more sweet than bitter. unusal.
4.1 Tap at Casc Aberdeen. Pours like a thick spirit. Light haze to an orange amber colour. It looks packed with alcohol seriousness. Nose has superb orange citrus and tangerine sweetness. Boiled sweet sugar and strong alcohol vapour right at the end. Taste has barley sugar and citrus fruitiness that feels surprisingly balanced for such a big beer. Soft, full paraffin-like body. Gentle sparkle has a sharp touch to it for refreshment. It warms the chest in a very good way. I was expecting warm alcohol and it delivers but in a balanced and drinkable package. Really tasty mega-IPA.
3.2 Piana znikoma, szybko znika, barwa złota, opalizująca, z pływającymi drobinami. W zapachu mango i trochę cytrusów. W smaku dość słodkie, likierowe, pomarańczowe, ze średnią, żywiczno grejpfrutową (bardziej albedo) goryczką. Niskie do średniego wysycenie, nieco oleiste i mocno rozgrzewające w odbiorze. Wyszło z tego coś na pograniczu IIPA i ABW, mocne, charakterne w ustach, za to trochę rozczarowujące w aromacie.
1.7 This beer smells delicious but the alcohol is not very well masked at all and the beer is sickly-sweet - tastes like someone has taken a load of vodka and mixed it with a really sweet tropical fruit juice. Very poor.
4.4 330 can, from Beervana in Santiago. Adorabe strong smell, at first smells more like a high yeast beer rather than an ipa. Cherry and pepper on top. Great. Dark Golden look, not very carbonated. Nice. Taste is strong, not at all what i expected. The mango and orange are details, it doesnt have that taste at all. Reminds me of Trois Pistoles. Tell me ignorat or whatever, but wouldnt say it's an IPA to be honest, very different from what i expected. Give it a try, it's really really nice.
3.4 On tap. Very strange and unbalanced but enjoyable in its weird way. Honey sweet and a big alcoholic kick. A barley wine in disguise?
4.2 Degustada en Olut Sabadell club de cata, con cuerpo, color anaranjado, algo de dulzor por el exceso de maltas(tiene 12°)pero bien equilibrada con el lupulo.
2.0 Can. Translucent juicy amber in the glass with no head. Aroma of malt, noticeable alcohol, and a touch of red fruits. Taste is very sweet with an average bitterness. Flavors of barley malt, intense hot alcohol, slight red fruits. Meidum body, slick texture, flat carbonation. Feels much more like a boozy, awfully sweet barley wine than an Imperial IPA. Not enjoyable.
2.2 Can. Tough aroma of malty base with boozy, winish notes and some red fruitiness in the back. Amber to reddish in the glass with almost none head. Taste is sweet with a bunch of red fruitiness, tough malty base with horrible boozy notes. Hard to drink, closer to janky Barley Wine than DIPA. What a shame.
3.4 31-12-17 // bottle from Getränke Stumpf. Liquid bread, heavy malty sweetness. Some dried fruits strong bitter finish.
2.9 12/20 no mucking about with this one - incredibly strong taste and booze kick, dry bitterness means it's hard to get through
4.1 Strong, bit wierd but nice
4.2 Can. Pours hazy dark amber with a minor white head. Citrus aroma, somewhat sour. Taste is smoothly sweet with a refreshing bitter kick. Clear fruits, clear hops and a smooth bittersweet and fruity (somewhat orangy) aftertaste. Nicely balanced. Full bodied with a somewhat thick and syrupy texture. Smooth carbonation. Clap, clap, clap. This truly is a good one indeed.
Alkohol prawie zupełnie ukryty, piwo pijalne, zdradliwe, uderza do głowy. Bardzo Dobre.
4.5 Pino tropical, con alcohol muy muy notable. Que cosa mas rara y tan buena 🖤
3.7 (Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 28 July 2017) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, orange peel, tropical fruit and some vinous alcohol. Malty, fruity taste with orange marmalade, grapefruit, caramel and a generous citric, resiny bitterness in a vinous finish. Full body, with a slight sweetness (but dryer than expected). An explosion of hops and alcohol, actually more bitter than strong. A bit unrefined and unbalanced, but tasty. Nice one.
3.7 Tap, ADT. Clear orange amber with a small off-white head. Lots of citrus and tropical fruits, citrusy hops, pine, syrupy resin. Soft carbonation. Long resiny bitter finish, and the ABV is all there. Nice.
3.8 Piwo skonsumowane. Ocena na podstawie retrospekcji w celu uzupełnienia profilu.
4.4 25cl on tap at beer temple. Pours a clear amber with little head, doesn't dissipate though. Beautiful aroma, loads of pine needles, resin, some citrus fruit; loads of hops. Big body, thick hoppy herbal mouthfeel. Flavour is heavy and boozy. Really intense hops but with a huge sweet malt base. Great balance, impressive at 13%. Herbal and resin hops flavours are so intense. The more I have of this the more I like it. One of the nicest IIPAs I've had. Don't understand the critics!
