Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5°

3.8 Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5°
3.5 Wine Warehouse, bottle. Pours orange, slightly hazy, with an inch of light orange head. Tremendous amount of oranges in the nose, along with pine, grapefruit, grass. Flavor is somewhat soapy... pine, grapefruit, orange peel, along with burnt caramel.
3.7 Tap at churchkey. Orange copper pour soapy head. Nose is hoppy and candy. Tastes of oranges, grapefruit, malty, pine, caramel and brown sugar. Decent
4.3 Bottle. Light copper color - clear. Aroma is quite hoppy. Really good. Good balance of hops and malt, but with the hops dominant.
3.8 Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate cooked orange for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with date and toffee in the background. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is slightly hazy, dark amber. Flavor starts moderately sweet and slightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy with a soft to lively carbonation and a moderately astringent finish. Definitely one of the heavier weighted and thicker varieties of DIPAs. A slow sipper for sure.
3.7 Draft. Pours burnt orange with thin white head that dissipates. Above average carbonation. Citrus aroma. Some complexity but underwhelming for a dipa.
3.4 A lightly hazed golden DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, loads of doughy caramel malt with resinous pungent floral hops, nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. On tap at Local Tavern, PHL.
3.6 [7628-20150910] 12floz bottle. Grainy boozy caramel aroma. Hazy, dark amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Grainy boozy caramel toasted malt flavour. Medium body. Interesting but possibly starting to suffer from aging. (7/3/7/3/16) 3.6
3.6 Pours a very hazy amber - looks like it is unfiltered, lots of stuff floating around. Nose is tropical fruit and citrus. Taste of grapefruit and some bitter hops. Definitely tastes better than it looks!
3.8 Dank aroma with a lot of citrus hops, nice citrus flavors and a good malt balance, pretty good. Bottle like 6 months old, would like to try more fresh
3.6 Growler from Pip?s. Lots of green, oily hops in this, and a touch of metal. Pretty strong presence on the palate. Grapefruit with brown sugar, a little yeast, leafy greens. Possibly the best thing I?ve had yet from Evolution.
4.0 For a double IPA this has a pretty smooth taste and doesn’t wreck your palate like some ofther double IPA’s
3.8 Draft at Tyson’s. Pours clear bright amber with a fizzy, bubbly off white head and lots of lacing. Tastes like caramel malt, booze, resin, grapefruit hops, and pine. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like orange, caramel, citrus hops, some booze, and some grapefruit.
3.5 2015-09-10.Hazy dark amber body, nice creamy beige head. 3+ Aroma of moderate green hops, Flavour is fairly bitter throughout, moderate resin and green hops, moderate citrus notes . Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop, Frederick, MD.
4.1 Beer from Beer and Wine. Bold orange body with medium head. Nose is nice and fruity and hoppy with grapefruit notes. Taste is lots of hops, some honey and spices. Really nice texture with pine kick in the hoppy finish. Really nice.
3.7 Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Appearance is murky dark orange, one finger head. Aroma is whiff of grapefruit and lemon. Taste follows with hit of citrus hops with generous amount of bitterness but not off-putting. Good balance. Palate is medium body and light bitter aftertaste. Very good IIPA.
3.4 12oz bottle from Joe Canal Fire Rd. Poured a dark amber body with a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma/flavor of amber malts, toast, grains, citrus rind and alcohol. Body is a bit on the harsh side with lingering bitterness and some alcohol heat. Meh
3.5 12 oz bottle. Tasted on 6/17/15. Bottle from Total Wine Orlando. Drank from a snifter glass.
3.6 On tap, hazy copper hue with thick white creamy head, some lacing, pine and caramel malt dominate what was slightly underwhelming, medium body resin with some sweetness at the end, maybe a slight bit of citrus, balanced and drinkable but nothing really stood out
3.9 Very nice. Smooth nice taste. Great citrus pine hop blend. Good matching aroma. D
3.9 Hazy amber/orange appearance with an average size, off white head and a fair amount of lacing. Straight up hop aroma of tropical fruit and a bit of resin. Deliciously out-of-balance taste dominated by the piney, fruity hops. The modest sweetness provided by the caramel malts only make a minor dent. Alcohol becomes more pronounced in the aftertaste. Full bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leading to a lingering finish.
3.4 From the tap the pour is cloudy with an burnt orange color, the aroma is fruit hops and almost a lychee hint, the taste is sharp sweet with a strong carbonation forward presence and good hop balance, the finish is a fruity and sweet.
3.7 Bottle. Golden, cloudy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light caramel and some tropical fruitiness, grapefruit - some piney hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel and light tropical fruitiness, piney - light grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and light tropical fruitiness with lots of piney - light grapefruit hoppyness, faint alcohol. Really well hopped IIPA. Could be little bit drier with less caramel.
4.1 Cloudy orange. Crisp flavor. A dry finish. Not much smell. Aroma of Orange, Citrus hops, coriander, grapefruit Really easy to drink.
3.7 Aroma of citrus and dried fruit, pours a caramel color with a lasting white well laced head. Medium body oily slightly dry feel with a balanced taste of dried fruit with a hint of citrus and a slightly dry bitter finish.
3.8 Amazing IPA. Recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. Will prioritize this one
2.8 Hazy orange with a thin white head. Malty nose. Smooth sweet start. But grassy with a dry dull bitter finish
3.8 Pours cloudy copper color with thick off white head. That hold form well above the rim of the glass. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit, and pine. Caramel malt start with citrus and some fruity notes finishing with pine resin bitterness.
3.0 Aroma: Grapefruit, citrus (orange), caramel. Appearance: Opaque, cloudy, flat orange. Almost cider. Taste: Grapfruit front. Bitter, does not sweeten up. Lacks enough balance. Palate: Not too dry. Flat. Bitter. Overall: Meh
4.0 Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach, no bottle date. Orange pour with an off-orange head, leaving some lace. Aroma has sweet fruits, pine and garlic. Later some caramel shows through. Taste is of citrus, heavy pine, some resin and some caramel. Thick and syrupy. Finishes bitter and sweet, with length. This was rough and tough, and enjoyable. 14.9
