3.975cl bottle at home, bought at beerdome. Appearance: hazy golden to light amber with big white head. Aroma: bretty, citrus, slightly funky, coriander, peppery, wood/saw dust,
Taste: above medium sweetness and fairly high bitterness. Notes of brett, coriander, hard wood dust, slight citrus peel, resin and some pepper. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and soft to medium carbonation. Overall: solid and complex saison like ale. Especially that woody aroma that shines through retronasally makes this beer special. Good stuff
3.6One of the countless spiced Fantôme variations, with black pepper in this case; brewed for the Burgundian Babble Belt, like the famed Babillard from years ago. Thanks to Johan for sharing! Thick and foamy, egg-white, stable, mousy head, only slowly breaking in the middle, on a cloudy peach blonde beer with near-amberish tinge. Classic estery Fantôme nose: dried apricot, soggy sweetbread, cloves, pepper indeed but not necessarily black peppercorns, damp straw, banana peel, pineapple, dough, linseed, old dry cheese crust, apple, freshly cut grass, soap, ripe pear. Fruity onset, estery peach, banana and pear aspects, lively carbonated in a soft, refreshing way, sweetish but restrainedly so, soft ‘fluffy’ malt breadiness (feeling fuller than its ABV would suggest) with thinly nutty- and rusk-like edges, bit soapy, ending with strong spicy phenols (cloves, cumin seed) accentuated by a noticeable dry peppercorn effect which nevertheless refrains from becoming very prevalent – I probably wouldn’t even have guessed its presence if I hadn’t known, though ‘an’ added spiciness in general is of course clear enough. Lingering, long, gently drying, earthy and leafy hop bitterness also accentuates this pepper effect, rounding things off into an earthy and bready, but also very quenching and refreshing finish. This is about as Fantôme as Fantôme gets – no big surprises here, but a trustworthy, colourfully fruity and spicy saison worth recommending if you want a classic example of this brewery’s style.
3.8Bottle, 750 ml from Beergium. Shared with Bazz and Max. Cloudy dark orange huge white head. Spicy, malty, yeasty, some citrus, nice classic saison. Smooth. Medium bodied.
3.775cl Bottle @ Bier Huis, Osset, United Kingdom.

Taste follows the aroma.

3.9Hazy golden to orange colour, moderate sized off-white head; aroma of grainy, lemony, orange zesty and slight honey, taste has the same notes with yeasty and slight green tea notes, ad well as black peppery aftertaste; refreshing saison-ish Belgian ale; I like it - many thanks for sharing, Chris!
3.9Bottle. Hazy darker gold, a little head. Spicy yeast aroma. Fantome saison yeast, doughy fruity, malty. Really enjoyable Belgian Ale. At 5% it's delicious and super sessionable. The black pepper is not dominant at all, but it comes through a little in the aftertaste.
3.80.75l bottle thanks to Cristobal37. Hazy dark orange body with a white head. Aroma and taste of bread, orange zest, lemon zest, pepper and a hint of honey. Decent session ale.
3.4Bottle from Inoue. Spicy, grain, some manure, funkiness. A bit sour, crisp, very strange and funky and super dry. Grew on me, but not one of my favorites from him by a long shot.
3.075cl bottle at home. Murky amber, almost clear, foamy beige head. Grainy malts, light dried fruit, tea, weird notes, some funk, dry, citrus hint, light bitterness...Medium body and carbonation.
3.4Draft at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy dark orange, with persistent white foam, fine. Aroma is delicate citrus, peppery. Body is fairly dense, a full mouth, good carbonation. Taste is fairly sweet, interesting bitterness, nice peppery feeling. Finish is slightly long and peppery.
3.9the aroma is fruity and floral with hints of sweet citrus, plum, pepper, bisquit and some herbs... the taste is fruity and floral with notes of apple, prunes, pepper, bitter citrus and some spicy grasses... bitter, sweet and dry aftertaste...
3.8750ml bottle thanks to Craig pours out a amber copper color topped with a fizzy head. Nose is lots of black pepper wheat and floral notes. Taste is more of the nice pepper kick some other spices and a wheat backbone.
3.7750 ml crown-capped bottle with hidden cork bought at HK Brewcraft in Central.
Looks: Clear orange colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Explosive three finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 4 minutes; Very good sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant malt, with strong yellow fruits, honey, floral, sugar, peppers, spices, strong shortcake, strong Bel yeast, lemon and grass.
Taste: Close to light sweet light malt, with apricots, yellow fruits, floral, light sugar, strong peppers, spices, dry biscuits, Bel yeast, lemon, mid to strong bitter hops and grass.
Body: Light body. Watery and dry palate.
Mouth Feel: Light maltyness in a runny background. Very well attenuated as malt taste is still strong, very dry and low sweetness. Bel-yeasty, with yellow fruity apricot esters is very much evident. Flowery, peppery spicy with strong lemon to round. Very nice!
Hoppiness: Floral, spices, lemon and grass in nose and taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, close to high astringent bitter-light sweet light malty finish.
After Taste: Dry. Peppery lemon and bitter to mouth.
Comments: This one starts out with a nice cake-like aroma, and the taste is dry light Ale with malt / sugar / booze being sucked out as much as possible, but not is soul. It's Bel yeasty, boackbone malty yet very dry with moderate peppers. A Belgian Blonde with an attitude, well worth a try!
3.4On tap @Brasserie 4:20 (Rome). Ambrata, leggermente torbida, schiuma bianca media, discretamente persistente. Al naso note di malto, caramella zuccherata, bubblegum, erbaceo, leggera spaziatura. In bocca è dolce con finale appena amaro e acidulo. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Sui generis, non molto elegante, ma interessante.
3.2Draft - Black pepper and some funk. Clearish copper with a decent white head. Pepper and some funk with a light finish.
3.5Tap @4:20 in Rome. Hazy orange (dark) skin, quite bright. Medium off-white foam pretty adhesive. Nose: spices, pepper and sweet canditi cake. Mouth: soft carbonation, a bit thin, canditi and pepper mild finish. Esile in a way...

3.9Got in the mood for saison so decided to open one up from a classic saison brewery:
Fantôme Dark White 4.7%
Orange in color with a big thick beige head of foam. A catpiss, wheat, funk and mild spice aroma. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel, a bit of rich sweet honeycomb malt graham notes, funky, acidic, lemon meringue/egg tart and wheat cakes play as well in the dry finish. Tasty stuff, more challenging and complex than the Nanto one.
3.4Refrigerated 16 oz. green bottle poured into a tulip. Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, medium body, medium/well carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is caramel, yeasty, and a little fruity.
3.8Poured from a relatively fresh 750 ml bottle.
Aroma is fairly fruity with some red apple and pear. Medium light pepper notes with some light grain notes. Some nice Belgian esters and phenolics.
Pours a light auburn color with some amber hues and a large, frothy, light tan head that recedes steadily to a thin film that lingers. Medium light lacing and no legs.
Flavor has a medium light sweetness with a hint of acidity. Some light grain notes with quite a bit of red apple and pear notes. Light pepper and spicy phenolic notes. Medium low bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a really nice, super fruity and ester forward beer. Some medium light phenolic notes and malt that compliments the fruity esters well.
3.7Pours pale amber with a fast disappearing head. Malty yeasty caramel taste . Well balanced beer
3.5Bottle, courtesy of SinH4, many thanks! Pours cloudy amber with a big head. Aroma is pig stables, yeast, pepper, saison, cork. Body is medium, strongly carbonated yet still really sweet. Pepper indeed, also phenolic fruity. Typically Fantome, but light at it. Good!
