Farsons Hopleaf Pale Ale

Farsons Hopleaf Pale Ale

The Hopleaf Pale Ale origins go back to the days of the British Empire. It is a typical British pale ale, straw-coloured with a light hop resin and biscuity malt aroma. Juicy malt and spicy and peppery hops fill the mouth, with good hop bitterness in the finish.

2.8 Decent enough for style. Some light pine and decent malt complex. Pours golden amber with ok head. Bottle in Malta.
1.8 Can. Pours Light amber with an off-white head. Aroma of unmalted grain, slightly hoppy. Taste is sweetish, low bitterness. Flavors of malt, barely noticeable fruity hops. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Lacks the character of a pale ale.
3.1 Can, Malta. I had this last time I was here, but the rating appears to have been moved or deleted. I like this beer. Fruity and pleasant. I could settle with this during the week. Old fashioned, but that suits me.
2.8 Wenig hopfiger, eher trockener Antrunk. Spritzig mit leicht zunehmendem Hopfen, herb-würzig, rund. Süffig, mittellanger Nachhall. Gelungen. 9/9/10/9/8/9
2.4 Złotej barwy, piana szybko opada. Oblepia szkło. Aromat słodowy. Trochę słodki. W smaku nie ma tragedii. Ogólnie przeciętne.
1.7 #1690 Bottle. Clear, golden body, small white head. Aroma of metal, touch of fruit. Taste id insipid, sweet, lightly bitter. Metal and malt, overriped apples. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Meh...
1.8 Bottle 0.5l. Clear, deep gold to light orange colored. AROMA- metal, malt, touch of peach and apricot. FLAVOR- dry, lightly bitter, water, metal, malt, spicy hops, cardboard. Light to medium bodied. Bad.
2.1 Clear pale yellow liquid, hardly any head. Aroma of yeast. Light body, average carbonation. Taste of lager.
3.2 Dorada, clara. Espuma poco duradera. Aroma escaso, malteado. En boca base malteada, notas de madera y final de amargor considerable, herbal. Sabor y cuerpo con muy poco alcohol.
2.4 50cl bottle in bugibba.Light amber color, big white head, reducing to a thin leftover. Aroma of unmalted grains and light hops, thin body, average carb, not really much hops there stl there’s an herbal thing. A bit weak, easy to go, forgettable.
2.1 Smell of starch. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of malt, paper. Mildly bitter. Medium body. Prime bulk beer probably describes this.
2.3 330 ml can. BB Dec/17. Thanks Kirsi L! Clear deep golden color with a small white head. Sweet floral hops, cardboard, sweetness and malt in the aroma. The flavor is floral hops, mild bitterness, biscuity maltiness, sweetness and mild peppery notes. English style.
2.0 F: big, creamy, white, average retention. C: gold, clear. A: malt, grassy, hint of grainy, caramel, citrus. T: malt, metallic, undefined harsh bitterness not like hoppy, grassy, wet cloth, medium body, medium carbonation, not good balanced and not enjoyed, 330ml can from Chain foodstore in the Point Shopping Mall in Sliema.
2.2 Bottle This kind of beer is simply not my style. It’s like old woman sharing boring story and on top of that she falls asleep in the beginning. Nope.
3.3 Pale golden colour, medium sized dense white head; aroma of grains, some floral, fruity and maybe biscuity notes; taste is the same with moderate bitterness; correct ale, but nothing special
2.3 (M’dina / Malte) . C’est ce que j’appelle une bière de soif. Pas d’ambition au niveau du goût , très peu alcoolisée, mais elle désaltère après après une journée d’été. Ni plus ni moins.
2.0 Golden to amber beer with not so fine head. Good carbonation and a fairly full body considering the low alcohol content. Taste is quite sour with appropriate bitterness. Hops are there, but nothing fruity, just grassy and not very special. Malt flavours dominate. Doesn´t look like there´s any good beer brewed on the island of Malta (not counting Gozo).
2.4 Can 0.33l sample at Samo Pivo Belgrade, Serbia. 20.07.2016. Small tasting with Ogi and Vlada. Pour it clear golden color with small white head. Aroma soapy dishwasher. Taste sweet honey, funky, ah.
3.1 A good looking beer with a refreshing palate, but one that lacks any remarkable taste.
3.2 Can at Malta. Clear golden/amber - white head. Bitterness. Light caramel. Toasted. Bisquit. Nutty notes. Light citrus. Peppery notes. Spicy notes. No balance - just bitter. Lack of flowery dryhopping.
2.5 fagyasztott keserv kukorica és gríz, az angolok az égegyadtavilágon semmi de semmi köze
2.2 Sampled from a can. Light amber colour with a thin white head. Very slight hint of caramel in the malt taste, but little evidence of hop flavour. Some metallic flavours. Not horrible, but not much flavour or personality.
2.2 Bitter from Malta. Bright color, carbonation medium. In aroma and taste mainly malt - a little bit cookie. Hard to find hops aroma and bitterness.
2.1 330ml can. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is mainly malt, bit of floral hoppiness. Light bitterness and sweetness. Watery, drinkable.
2.0 Bottle shared by ippopotamo36 (thanks Alberto!). Pours clear golden with a medium white foam. Aroma has notes of dishwashing, malt, butter, some metallic. Flavour is malty, unbalanced and unpleasing. Light body, light carbonation. Undrinkable.
2.0 At the multi-national tasting held in Rome-Italy on 29/08/2015 (Jow, Mortlach, ippopotamo36 and Marco). Bottle courtesy of Sylvan, thank you. Pours golden clear bright color, white foam. Nose: bad feel of rinse dish washing, really bad. Mouth: malty but awful.
1.2 Hopleaf is a golden pale ale with good aroma of lightly floral hops. The taste is only much water and have little fruity tang. The only additional taste is a little fresh flavor of hops, which unfortunately does not keep me excited too long. The finish is dull and slightly bitter and so has the canned lens slightly metallic taste. Not a convincing pale ale.
2.6 1)275ml bottle. First beer in Malta, first beer in a week overlooking the escaped hotel. Dying orange with a slim white lid. Nose of raffia table mats. Suck of caramel boiled sweet partnered with licked cardboard, envelope, paper hand towel. Little suck of bitterness on the end. Very anodyne tinned English bitter in feel, maybe John Smiths. That said at least it attempts a variation on corn flavoured gold fizz. 32428. 2) Can on Mellieha beach. Cruelly underrated it last time. Or is there no glycerine in the can? It certainly doesn’t taste like glue. Almost Shep’s sherbet and attempted violet floweriness. Dough and dunked biscuit finish. Watery but pleasant.
2.9 Bottle 25cl. @ bar in Valletta, Malta (26/8/15). Clear pale amber, good frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing; malty nose, caramel, light brown sugar, grass; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, mild dry bitter finish, bit spicy; ok Pale Ale.
