Fat Head's Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale

Fat Head's Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale

Honey Blueberry Wheat. Brewed with fresh harvested spring honey stolen from some very angry bees (we have the welts to prove it) and infused with fresh blueberries. Creating a light, refreshing ale with a nice blueberry aroma, crackery malt flavors, a hint of sweetness and a refreshing blueberry finish. Get yo buzz on!

3.6 Quite heavy on the blueberry, however it is a nice fruit beer. I think it is really good within the style. Fatheads portland
1.0 Boring. Pointless. Sorry, I had to upload these old ratings. They were for me, not for uploading. And also I need 75 characters, hence this sentence.
3.1 On tap at the Portland brewery. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Comes with a blueberry floating in it. Big fake blueberries on the nose, smells like a blueberry muffin. Grain, wheat. Medium bodied, soft blueberries, soft fruit. Grain, soft and easy enough, light fruit. Grainy, blueberry extract through the finish.
1.0 Draft at the Philly Airport. Cloudy like a NE IPA. Something might be wrong here. Tastes like a mimosa or something. Orangey. High carbonation. Abyssmal.
2.4 Aroma and taste is citrusy with some wheat. Overall light and just a bit bland.
2.9 From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is blueberry. Floral. Fruity. Medium dry. Slight estery and mild fruity finish.
2.9 Pours a pale golden copper with a thin white head. Aroma is strong blueberry and honey with some malts in the background. Flavor is dry blueberry, honey, and bread malts. Softly carbonated and light in body. Okay.
3.0 From tap at Fat’s Head, Portland. Aroma is lots of blueberry and lightly malty with more blueberry in the finish. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. A bit onedimensional, simple, but I found it drinkable.
2.6 Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Aromas of blueberry and malt. Decent beer. Light palate with little to no lacing in the glass.
3.4 Aroma is berries and citrus leaf. Taste is mostly wild berry followed by its bitter leaf. Slight retenation to the tartiness. Pretty basic but refreshing. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains OK.
2.4 from a 12 oz bottle. I didn’t think I’d like this one... and I was right. Tasted like a crappy red ale with blueberries tossed in. Way too much carbonation too. Eh, I’d pass.
2.9 Pours clear light Amber with a rim head. Not a looker. Aroma is blueberries and grass. Taste is blueberry upfront with a tangy malt middle and a mildly bitter grassy honey finish. The blueberry flavors are well done but overall this is an average ale at its core. I agree that it is decently refreshing.
3.7 On tap at Fat Head’s. The blueberry aroma is amazing, the flavour is restrained and well balanced, good stuff.
2.8 Good for what it is. Lots of blueberry and some caramelized malt. Golden pour with decent head and lacing. Sweet finish with touch of mash tang. Tap at brewpub.
2.6 RB rating 5505. Bottle. Sweet nose heavy in artificial blueberry syrup, or concentrate, or whatever blueberry is supposed to taste like, but doesn’t in reality. Pour lightly hazy orange with a soapy beige head. Taste lightly sweet (but it accumulates), very low bitterness, full body with sharp and fizzy carbonation does refresh. Blueberry is strongest and the sort of jammy ooze used for pie filling, perhaps even with some strawberry highlights, but there’s also some stiff malt, wheat, low-grade caramel, touch floral and lemon. Clean but covered-over. Pretty easy to please a general audience with this one, but not really for me. [2016.07.30: 2.6] Fresh bottle from Wegmans in State College, this one is absolutely identical to the last, so they really do have process down. [2018.07.25: 2.6]
4.1 Nice sweet honey and blueberry fruit aroma. Bright clear orange color. Taste is sugars but a little malt and hops that match the ale style. Crisp up front and fills mouth with sugars towards end. Blueberry is decent.
3.6 Pours golden with a white head. Blueberry aroma. Flavor is light malt followed by blueberry fruitiness. Tart blueberry finish. Very crisp and refreshing brew.
3.4 On tap at Quaker Steak and Lube Sandusky, I didn’t mean to order this, but they sent it by mistake. Slightly hazy deep golden color white head. Faint berry aroma and flavor sweet bready honey maltiness. Not horrible for a fruit beer.
3.3 Pours cloudy gold with a fluffy head that dissipates to a filmy lace. Aromas of blueberry, citrus and honey. Flavors are honey, citrus, berries, a bit of grassiness and a bit of bread. Slightly tart. Low to medium carbonation. Slightly watery mouthfeel. Not bad, but not great.
3.3 Draft: Poured a hazy yellow orange with a white head. Aroma is very berry. Taste is very blueberry and a mild grain tartness.
2.7 Poured from a bottle. Pours a dark golden amber with a thin white ring. Light carbonation and plenty of lacing. Aroma is of tart fruit with a hint of honey and blueberries. Flavor is very light blueberry with a flowery imitation taste. Not nearly as good as I had expected. Fairly thin and ordinary.
3.5 You can really smell the blue berries in this wonderful beer. The aroma is the best thing going for this beer A little carbonated with a deeper yellow tone, this beer goes down smoothly. You can taste the berries a little bit and can feel the bubbles on you toungue. Over all you could drink a six pack of this beer. Would be a nice summer beer!
3.3 Clear golden pour with white head. Aroma of blueberry and cereal. Sweet blueberry flavor with honey and grain. One of the better blueberry ales I’ve had.
3.6 @ Fat Heads 16-3-10: Stora toner av blåbär. Ölen är ganska torr med en fin balans.
3.2 On tap at Fat Head’s Portland. Golden with a white head. On tge sweet side with blueberries and some light malt. Soft and easy to drink.
3.5 Bottle in hotel room Orlando 2016... Copper big off white head... Sweet berry fruits nose... Light tart fruits.. Zezt tart berries.. Sherbert zezty blackberry linger... Ok for what it is
3.6 Tap in Philly. I really enjoyed this one. Sort of classic fruit beer done well. Honey, Blueberry. Straight up, but good.
2.7 Bottle that was a little old. Pours a clear golden color with lots of white chunks in it. Aroma was pure berry and pretty nice. Flavor fell off a bit with over-powering berry flavor and crakcer malts. Light body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation, sweet finish.
3.3 Draft at Moriartys. Aug 2017. Clear dark gold pour. Nice full blueberry flavor. Medium body. Honey waffles. Nothing particularly wrong with it but meh. UPDATE: Aug 2023. Draft at Finn McCools. Rated this poorly before. Still not a great beer but bumping it up a bit.
3.3 Strong fresh blueberries. Clear amber, medium head. Tastes as it smells, lots of blueberries. Medium body, soft carbonation One note, but enjoyable....if you like blueberries.
