3.5 From tap. Pours hazy yellow, small whitehead. Aroma is grapefruity. Crisp hoppy. Grapefruity, citrusy. Mild dry and light fruity. Grapefruity hoppy finish.
3.1 Bottle from Trenton Road Takeout. Poured a good looking, although a bit think but this is a session IPA, deep burnt copper with a smaller bright white head. Aroma of soap, wet malts, dry citrus, biscuit and some odd fruitiness. Flavor is medium toast, caramel malts, older citrus and finishes with a touch of dry pine needles. Body is thinner to medium with softer creamy carbonation.
3.8 Bottle at Bok Bar with Andrew, PJ, Dilemmi, Petillo and the rest of the Bucknell crew. Nose is dank fresh pine and light citrus fruits. Mouthfeel is medium to light bodied with fresh pine, dank herb, citrus and soft fruit.
3.2 Bottle. Nose lovely citrus essential oils, orange, grapefruit both strong, tangerine, etc., with some passionfruit and melon rind, bit of pine, medium musk. Pour clear orange with a sudsy off-white head. Taste bone-dry with very strong floral component and strong citrus oil, strong floral with medium floral/spice, have to go slow or it readily becomes too much. Cleansing and soapy, strips the tongue with low resin and leaves behind some of that citrus (and a bit of quease), soft medium body but heavy, with prickles of fine carbonation. Stands up well against food, but a bit forward for me. [2017.05.24: 3.2]
3.8 Bottle pours clear orangey bronze with fat head (get it?). Muy dank aroma, nut, caramel, pine hop and hay. Crisp, clean and short finish. Hardly bitter. Sweet and malty finish with some dank.
3.7 Draft... Pours clear and brilliantly amber with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma features big-time citrus fruits, tropical fruits and melons - mango, grapefruit, passionfruit, cantaloupe. There are also some honey-like malt characteristics here. Full-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is a medley of fruits and melons almost perfectly balanced by modest bitterness and moderate sweetness. Lengthy, bittersweet finish.
3.5 Draft at Muuy Biien (that’s how they spell it) concert at MOTR Pub on January 15, 2017. Somewhat cloudy dark golden hue, moderate bittersweet nose with lots of citrus and most mustiness, taste much the same. Drinks more like an APA but definitely a good session beer.
3.5 Draft: Poured a golden with tan head. Aroma is nice citrus fruit. Follows into a nice mellow but hoppy citrus.
3.6 Bottle 12fl.oz. @ Craig’s House - Edinburgh. [ As Fat Head’s Sunshine Daydream Session IPA ]. Clear medium yellow color with a small to average, open and frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate hoppy, tropical fruit, pineapple. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, tropical fruit, sweet malt, fruity hops, fruity malt, pale malt, tangarins. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160319] 8-3-7-3-15
3.9 golden pour at the saloon. citrus and tropical fruits. ample bitterness. light malt. light to medium body. long finish.
3.6 Lots of grapefruit similar to trail head. Some rind and pine. Golden hazy pour with decent head and lacing. Bitter finish. Tap at brewpub.
4.0 White fluffy head. Clear draft. Wonderful tropical fruit and citrus. A little under carbonated.
3.9 Crisp golden coloured body with a pale white head, only about a centimetre tall. Bright hoppy nose with grapefruit, pine and resin all noticeable and only a touch of malt with some lemons and other fresh scents - very nice. Light-bodied; Sharp pungent hoppy flavours with some great lemon, grapefruit and resinous notes and hardly any weighty malts, makes this go down very easily. Aftertaste is relatively straight forward with hops, but there are a few mild sweet elements, some of fruit and some of caster sugar also noticeable. Overall, a very nice Light IPA with some subdued sweetness, but this is all about the hops; the easy-to-drink, liquid hops. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Gat Beer in [NorthEast] Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for US$3,00 on 02-July-2016 sampled a few minutes later from my hotel room in [NorthEast] Philadelphia on 02-July-2016.
3.6 Draft at Mad Mex. Nice looking clear golden color. Medium head. Nice tropical hop notes. Medium bitterness. Slight pine notes. Average carbonation. It's pretty good. I like my session beers a bit less hoppy bitter but it's good never the less. Fresh.
3.6 At the Pittsburgh saloon: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit and tropical fruit. Nice level of bitterness. Ample body for the style. Pretty good.
3.5 12 oz bottle. Gold with a slight haze and and average with head. Aroma is grass, earth, dank hops. Taste is pine, resin, dank hops, and herbal.
3.4 Bottle. The smell is dank, hops, pine, grass, resin. The taste is much the same. Good. The look is clear, golden, white head. Decent.
3.8 Tap at the OBF. A: Semi clear orange with a thin white head. N: Orange syrup, pine, pineapple, earth, damp leaves, weed, biscuit and toast. T: Substantially bitter and lightly sweet. M: Light body, crisp carbonation, no alcohol. O: This is a very nice Session IPA. Great hop flavor backed up by the taste. Compares well to the Boneyard.
3.5 On tap at Quaker steak and Lube Sandusky Slightly hazy golden orange color with a thin wisp of white head on top. Citrus and pine with some earth and faint tropical fuit against a thin bready malt background. Decent session IPA.
3.8 Aroma tropical fruits, resin, Appearance golden, clear, white foam, Taste lightly bitter, Palate medium body, Overall a nice lightly bitter beer that is refreshing with flavors of tropical fruits. I would suggest this beer to a friend on a summer day.
3.5 On tap at the Blue Dog. Poured a golden color with a smaller sized head. Pine, toasted grains, and some earthiness.
3.1 Location: sample on tap at Fat Head’s Saloon Pittsburgh Appearance: Lighter orange amber. Very small ring of white bubbles. Nose: Light hop nose of citrus and pine. Lightly sweet malt. Taste: citrus hops on the front with a bit of sweet malt behind. Flavorful without being strong Body: Light to medium. Smooth. Parting thoughts: A very nice session. Drinkable and tasty.
3.5 Pours a clear orangish amber with a thin white ring. Light carbonation and some lacing. Nice aroma of sweet citrus. Crisp, clean, and refreshing. Flavors of light citrus peel with some pine notes. Finishes just a tad bitter with some lingering flavors. Pretty enjoyable.
3.7 [ keg ][ 12oz ][ @Fatheads (Pgh) ][ $6 ][ snifter ][ 12.24.15 ]Hazy amber, thin white ring head, great lacing. Resinous orange nose, biting with low sweetness but considerable caramel malt presence. More tangerine resin up front, malt lighter than nose, dry with dusty mid palate, grainy paper dry bitterness lasting through softly tangy finish. Body is perfect, smooth with lower carb, balances malt profile so not too filling.
3.9 Bottle. Pours golden with off white head. Aroma is citrus orange and grapefruit zest. Taste is sweet and bitter hops grapefruit and lemon with grapefruit piney finish. Very good session IPA.
3.9 Sixer from Wegmans. Let me first say that i don’t like Headhunter. I’m that guy. Pours slightly cloudy dark yellow. light frothy head and lacing. Dandelion nose. Mouthfeel is light with a little too much carbonation. Flavors are minerals, peach, lemon. Just enough bitterness to keep it interesting. Really liked this one. barely a session IPA but even for a regular IPA, it’s a good one. i’ll buy again.
3.6 Pours a cloudy golden yellow. Aromas of citrus and a little of the tropics. Smooth easy drinking with flavors of citrus, grass, and yeast.
3.6 Draft at Tippe and Drague. Pours a cloudy pale orange-y amber with a sudsy white head. Big citric nose, lots of grapefruit and orange. Creamy light body with lively carb. Lightly toasted caramel, bit of carbonic bite, lots of grapefruit and orange on the mid palate. Long dry bitey finish.
3.8 Bottle. Golden-orange with great clarity but almost no head. Snappy aroma: tangerine peel, grass, just a bit of sweaty funk. Flavor kicks off with a similar blend of grass, citrus and garlic; pine needles rise mid-palate and carry through to a bitter, dry, saltinelike finish. Very clean, very crushable.
3.8 12oz bottle pours clear amber with 2 finger head. Nice midwest style ipa that packs good flavor into the "session" package. Pleasant juicy melon and round citrus with just the right amount of sticky malt and bits of sweetness. Finishes with good piney bitterness, citrus, light caramel toast malt, melon. Nice beer.
