1.6 bottle. golden with small head. thin body with off flavors abounding -- especially a metallic unpleasantness. not good.
1.8 this beer was terrible...from the start it was bad....smell is awful taste is awful....yuck....i did not like!
2.7 Bottle. Yellow with slight haziness and light beige spongy head, doughy aroma with a hint of hops, medium carbonation, slightly bitter taste with a metallic tinge at the end, longish finish. A bit thin bodied and bitter.
2.5 Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour. Yeasty metallic aroma. Rather malty palate. Moderate bitter hoppyness. Not horrible but not really very good. Meh.
2.4 This batch was contract brewed at River Trent Brewing co., Ukiah, CA via Trader Joes. Bland and uninteresting amber ale. Malt is primary feature here, metallic finish.
2.6 12 oz. bottle poured to a fest goblet showing a hazed, amber color, with a quickly diminishing layer of off white head foam, but decent persistence to the doily-like lacing. The nose was sweet grain & caramel, with some metallic scent. The hop bitterness in the taste was lingering, earthy, rind-like, and somewhat over done. Medicinal hints followed, with some malty sweetness, and noticeable alcohol. Medium bodied, with lively carbonation, but a finishing aftertaste that was a continuation of the bitterness, rind-like astringency, with a little sweetness & booziness, and not all that favorable.
2.3 12 oz longneck bottle. Unusual but not unpleasant aroma. Pours a cloudy amber with very little head. Not a beer I would buy again.
2.6 Pours a slightly hazy light amber color with a thin finger of foamy, white head. Moderate lacing. Nose is grain and a little funky yeast. Taste is mild bitterness, sort of grapefruity. High ABV comes through in medicinal booziness. Fuller than I expected in mouthfeel. Not bad brew, but not particularly good.
2.2 12oz bottle from Trader Joe’s in Tally. Gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is medicinal, grain, caramel. Tastes are a vast improvement on the aroma, though not saying much - sweet malt, overripe fruit, grainy, tea vibe. Kind of a mess.
2.8 Tallahassee, Fl - Trader Joe’s - 12 oz bottle. Hazy medium orange pour, soft white head that sticks around a while Aroma leans to the sweet side with some scuppernong grapes, a light touch of dates. Flavor is just a tad muddled with some light molasses notes, a touch of orange marmalade, some coriander spice. Not sure where this one is going. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it.
2.5 A weird, but not really unpleasant aroma - reminded me of toasted artificial coconut, powder and dry malt. OK label, but a little clip-arty. Standard US longneck, clear, light orange-yellow beer, thin white head. Nothing: I get nothing. I can best describe this beer in terms of what it is NOT, rather than what it is. Not sweet, not hoppy, not unpleasant, not fruity, not astringent, not toasted/roasted/dark, not syrupy, not boozy. The only thing I can come up with to describe it is ’slightly tangy’. Medium body, next to no finish. Probably best used as marinade. Glad it was cheap. Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.
1.9 12 oz bottle. Not very good. Has a creamy almost vanilla taste to it. I wouldnt get again.
2.4 12 oz. bottle from local Trader Joe’s. No bottle date. Hazy amber/ gold color with real small head. Nose is light caramel and toffee malt tones. The flavor is really odd. Old malt flavor with an Earthy bitterness and a fizzy carbonation. If you are looking for cheap beers at Trader Joe’s, grab a different one. Not really amber like at all. What the hell is this?
2.5 $1.09 bottle from Trader Joe’s Charlottesville. Looks like murky apple cider in the glass. Dusting of froth for a head. Smells of sweet malts and caramel. Tastes of an overpowering fake candied caramel, glue, grass, and metal.
2.6 November 2012 from bottle. Amber color, white head. Caramel aromas with malt and yeast. Medium carbonation, not a whole lot going on in terms of flavors. Bland and boring.
3.0 Cool name, average beer. Pours yellow gold. ample white head. Not much aroma,. Taste is slightly bitter with a slightly malty center, and a little funky. Palate has a nice body. As others have noted, has a nice kick at 7.1 ABV. Just OK.
2.4 Mild beer with a medium body. Not very distinctive. Slight apple flavoring.
3.1 Bottle from Trader Joe’s, Naples. Coppery orange, decent white head. Grainy, lightly toasty aroma, with a touch of caramel. Some mild hops, too. Caramel flavors with a light hoppy finish. Eh...
2.1 Surprisingly high alcohol content for an ale...slightly bitter and peppery, especially after electrolyte replacement of salt and vinegar chips
2.7 Light Hazy Amber Color, Good Foamy Head turning into Lots of Lacing. Sweet Malt, Yeast Sour, Light Hop Bitter Finish. There Was a Brief Moment when alcohol was shining although it went away. Just OK.
3.3 Fat Weasel Ale is a lively golden ale topped with a soft, creamy, white head. It leaves thick sheets of foam on the glass. It has a light aroma of citrus and wood. It has a smooth, medium body with a chalky finish. It has a sweet and sour malt flavor. It’s tangy and the bitterness is ample and wooden. I guess this is a Scotch ale.
3.1 Slightly hazy honey colored. Aroma and taste slightly indistinct and tannic with some sweetness. Not sure what to think of this. $2
2.6 Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a slightly hazy amber color with moderate lacing. Aroma is an ok mix of hops and malt. A mediocre amber ale
1.9 Bottle. Cheap and powerful. That’s really all there is to say about this stuff.
3.5 This is a decent beer, its flavor is mostly bitter but not much hop aftertaste, it does have some hop aroma though, and its a little sweet, and there’s a tiny bit of hot alcohol taste. It’s an average tasting IPA-Amber.
2.7 Golden orange pour with a white head. Lemon, grass, and sweet grain on the aroma. Some hints of yeast, metallic notes, and some damp straw. Tastes of bread, grain, lemon peel, and grass. Lightly metallic on the palate, some weak floral hop notes, and very light bitterness on the finish.
2.3 Bottle->SA. Light orange gold with frothy white head. Aroma: grains, some malt. Taste: hops and bitter malt. Fairly unpleasant.
3.3 Bottle from Trader Joe’s. Aroma of spicy hops. Taste is sweet and hoppy up front with a a heavy bitter finish.
2.6 The aroma is weak, caramel, noble hops. The appearance is a clear amber, fluffy white head. The flavor is weak also, caramel, light fruit. The finish is noble hops, also weak. Medium in body, creamy mouthfeel. The aroma, flavor and finish are low in intensity. But overall, not objectionable, and not terrible.
2.2 Bottle from Trader Joes. Light color for amber ale. Aroma is malty/bready with some toast highlights. No hops or esters. Alcohol is quite evident for a 7.1%abv beer. Flavor is lightly toasty with no hop flavor. Finish is dry from alcohol. Cleanly fermented. Medium body and carbonation. Alcohol is far to dominating as a flavor characteristic. Bittering just keeps it from being sweet.
