2.1 500ml bottle as a gift and drunk on 11/04/2006. Fairly standard bottled bitter, pretty obviously pasteurised and force carbonated. Not horrible, but not great.
3.4 Nutty beer with a dark sugar nose. Nice head that fades. Sweeet malty enjoyable overall. Nice beer.
4.5 This beer looks robust in the glass, with a beautiful foamy head. Superb malty, nutty aroma. Malt taste, nutty, chocolate, long finish. Very nice beer!
3.4 Bottle, 50 cl, bought at Wally's, Cardiff. Pleasant ale, complex aroma, clear but a bit thin, some metallic features, hint of marzipan.
2.9 Bottle at home. Wow, that is a sweet beer! I would classify this as a very old school mild and it really wasn't my thing. Good mouthfeel, but the sweetness was too much,
3.0 50cl can from Home Bargains. Medium creamy white head. Clear amber pour. Good for 4.2%..
2.4 Big bottle from Beers of Europe cons 2018-06-10 Uddingston AR: bread, dry grass AP: bronze, frothy white head F: bready, weed, sour, citrus
2.6 Bottle - clear, reddish tinge beer with small white head. Sweet toffee aroma. Slight ting on tongue and in mouth. Again bit sweet toffee tasting - slight fruity.
2.6 Well rounded traditional beer. A bit thin in the bottle but tasty none the less. Decent biscuit malt and very refreshing, but I’d rather the cask (preferably whilst in west wales).
2.3 500ml bottle from Aldi. Poured a murky medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is light caramel grainy malt, weedy hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a skunky watery malt, metallic, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty awful. Poured most of the bottle. Might try again one day to check if this is really what the brewer intended or if this was just a bad bottle.
3.1 500ml bottle bought from the brewery. Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma malts - caramel and some fruit. Taste sweet followed by mildly bitter finish.
2.8 Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of nuts, some copper, slight fruit, a little toffee and subtle spicy hops. Taste of nuts, slight fruit, a little toffee and subtle spicy hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dryish, nutty bitterness in the finish. Not a bad bitter, nutty with slight toffee and spicy hops.
4.3 Home bargain had this 4 cans for the price of £4 thinking it was worth a try and indeed it was I love this beer smell was proper pub like lol taste was lovely will have again
2.5 Mediocre bitter. Light and golden. Aroma of grass and hay, light grainyness. Lingering sweetness.
3.2 500ml bottle from Aldi, Chertsey. Pours amber copper with a white head. Aroma of malt and toffee with dried fruit. Sweet fruity taste. Sweet finish.
2.2 500ml bottle. Copper coloured with white head. Smells metallic, with some slight spice. Initial taste is malt, slight sweetness, giving way to a watery, metallic alkaline kind of tinge. Feels watered down somehow, a distinct lack of body. Fairly bitter. Oddly reminiscent of Red Tizer. Proclaims itself "the National Ale of Wales". I feel sorry for them. Poor.
3.0 Clear pale brown color with a thin white head. Light grassy hop aroma and sweet malt. Flavor is malty sweet with more bitterness than most English bitters I’ve tried. Light bodied and slippery on the palate with a mild bitter finish. Nothing flashy but a decent, drinkable beer.
2.5 At Home amber colored body with an off white head and with a fruity malt aroma a fruity malt sweet taste with a light bitter finish
2.8 Bottle from Aldi. Pours clear amber with thick creamy head. Good lacing. Aroma sweet with plum, slight spiciness and a little woody.
3.3 Quickly getting through thirds of beers I’ve been gifted and are taking up room. Whilst pret t weak, there’s a pleasant sweetness to the aroma, makes me think of marzipan or a glue stick. Medium chestnut. Thin bright white head. Sweet and sour. Some bitterness into the finish. Fruit. Acidic berries. Quite light. Watery. Lively carbonation, gives the acidity some edge. Dry low key finish. Much better than I was expecting. Perhaps subdued but an easy drinker.
3.2 From old tasting notes. Tawny amber orange color with a creamy tan head. Bittersweet toasted malt nose. Tangy sweet malt flavor has a hint of sour apple. Zesty dry finish and aftertaste. Lightly carbonated.
2.9 Pours a clear orange amber colour with a small off white head. Caramel and nutty aroma, some desert apple. Some caramel malt sweetness, again some nut flavours but a bit watery and no depth of flavour or distinct bitterness.
3.3 Meh. Unusually for me I got quite a lot on the nose - nice almondy and fruity aroma. Tastes quite dull though with not a lot else to write home about.
3.0 (Bottle) Pours clear amber brown, with little head. Subtle aroma, slightly nutty, slightly appley. Medium body, good carbonation. Unusual and pleasant taste. Red berries in foretaste. Nuts and marzipan develop over this in the mid-palate, and dominate in the finish. Unusual, easy drinking.
3.4 Bottle. Dark copper/orange. Not much of a head. Aroma of malts, nuts, marzipan and wet laundry. Taste is malty, nutty and toffee. Some red fruits and a little sourness are calling from the background. Fruity and bitter. A little bit creamy and soapy. Medium carbonation. Smooth and refreshing. I like it.
2.8 Pours a brown colour. Aroma is of freshly mown hay and savlon. Taste is a bit chemical, some chlorine and medecinal. Not my kind of thing
3.1 Bitter klasyczny i konserwatywny, ale zbyt malo gozki jak dla mnie i na ten styl. Brak piany, prawie calkowity, na jeden palec byla. Kolor bursztynowy, klarowny. Zapach kory i lupiny kokosa. W smaku delikatne, malo slodowe i lekko gozkawe
2.8 500ml bottle from Aldi - Brown body, off-white head, crystal clear. Nose is caramel toffee heavy, with some red fruits in there. Taste is a little tart, again caramel up front, but with a malty finish which isn’t that pleasant. Watery. Endured it because I’d bought it attitude with this.
2.6 Can, 440 ml. Pours clear deep red/amber with a finger of very lively head and a lot of visible carb - large bubbles. Head doesn’t stick around long. Aroma is mostly light caramel-y malts with some molasses, dark fruits and a hint of ester. Very sweet. Taste is mostly (slightly stale) bready and biscuity malt with some slight fruity hints, maybe apple, and is quite watery and light again. Much less sweet though bitterness is very mild too. Body is light and texture is mostly watery with medium carb - though a little sticky at the end. Nothing wrong with it but fairly dull.
2.6 Amber brown colour, quickly dissipating head. Taste of rancid socks. .An awful drink for a lager drinker looking for a buzz with something else but fans of English mild ales might see the love. It offers nothing special. A typical mild ale.
