3.8 Lovely gentle brown sour. Rich dried fruits, figs, some overripe fruits, decent maltiness in background, toast. Light sweet with mild tartness, almost no bitterness. Liked

3.4 Flaska från Beergium. En söt rödöl med mycket mörkt socker i smakbilden. På plussidan finns mycket fatkaraktär och fin fruktighet med främst mörka syrliga körsbär och krikon. Också fin mjuk syra. Trevlig
3.1 Very dark ruby brown with beige head. Aroma is sour yeasty leather. Light tartness, cherry coke, light yeasty character. Finish dried my mouth out. Similar to the Duchesse du Borgogne however I preferred that one. Thanks for sharing Kapusil!
3.8 0.25l bottle. Hazy deep ruby body, beige head. Aroma of sour cherry, cocoa and chocolate. Taste is the same as the aroma with a quite noticable balsamic vinegar character. Nice one.
3.3 Klare dunkel rötlichbraune Farbe, geringe beige Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen roten Beeren, Wein, holzig, trocken. Geschmack nach roten Beeren, trocken, holzig, rote Weintrauben.
3.4 The color is brown, with a beige head. Nice sour aroma. Taste is a bit vinous, but the sourness reminds me more of cider. After the initial sourness, the taste completely vanishes. Would have loved it, if the sourness lingered around more in the aftertaste.
3.4 Small beige head dark brown pour mild carbonation aromas wild yeast cider grape dark fruit caramel the flavours sour too sour for me but will mark accordingly to the good taste as I suffer from migraines and these beers are a spark for them
3.6 Bottle at Cafe Frape. Dark brown, beige foamy head. Typical oud-bruin sour cherrie fruity and vinous character, quite spicy. Watery body, medium carbonation.
4.0 04/04/2015 - 25cl bottle @Priorij van Elsegem, Oudenaarde. Hazy brown with small easy dissipating head. Aroma & taste : sour, red fruits, cherry, caramel.
3.2 Clear caramel brown colour, beige head. Aroma red fruit, caramel, light lactic acid. Light sweet flavour, light sour. Finish light sour, light sweet, light fruity. (from 25cL bottle @ home)
3.6 beige head leaves no lacing. red brown colour. aroma is metallic, caramel, lactic sour, cherries, bit of glue. taste like aroma, nice sour-sweet balance, hint of vinegar, finish is a bit wry. medium body and carbonation. pitty of the metallic taste, still nice though! bottle 25cl / bbf jun-2016
3.0 250ml bottle, BBE 15/04/16. Pours a dark auburn brown with a good-sized, latte-colored head. Aroma is burnt cigarette, some vinegar, light berries. Taste is somewhat swet. Vinegar, caramel, light berries, light yeast, brown sugar, light oak. Fairly strong carbonation.
3.9 Bottle 25cl. Clear dark ruby red color, big creamy light tan head, collapses slowly in a fluffy way, good flocky lacing; aroma sweetsour, cherries, woody, vinegar, fruit syrup, brown sugar; taste mild sweet and sour ; medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, finish mild sourish, hint of bitterness, sour cherries, bit woody; overall a very nice oud bruin, good balance of sweet and sour, never gets too sweet or too sharp; I like this style.
2.8 small bottle bought in belgium. gushed and I lost 1/3 of the bottle. huge head, thick bubbles that left a nice lacing. Totally an oud bruin in appearance. dark brown with red hues. The nose is pretty week, I get red grapes, some other tropical fruits and malt vinegar. Taste is also pretty weak. thin cherry soda, cherry cola, kiwi and pineapple with very little else going on but it is easy drinking.
3.0 Bottle (250 ml). Dark ruby red with a huge slowly diminishing beige head. Aroma is of balsamic vinegar, oak, caramel and light red fruits. Taste is of caramel, vinegar, light ketchup, light oak, ketchup and hints of red fruits. Thin body. Watery. Moderate carbonation. Caramel and oak finish. Not really complex. Too much vinegar and too much caramel. Weak.
3.7 Bottle 0.25l from De Hopduvel beer shop Ghent Belgium.Pour it dark red color with small white head.On the nose red wine.Taste of cherry, raspberry, grapes.Very interesting.
3.7 Sampled at Bierweekend de Lambiekstoempers 2014 . Pours coca-cola like colored . Small white head . Smell is fruity, sweet, some funky FOB character . Too high carbo . Spices ( again, coca cola pops in mind ) some fruits, some oak . only slightly sour . Doable, but not great
3.6 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Streekbierweekend 2014. thx! for sharing people. Ruby dark wood brown, small mocha head. Nose is sweet cherry, syrup, cough syrup, dark wood,… Sweet cough syrup, wood, cherry, candy, mineral, mahogany, light sour in the back,… Odd syrupy body,… Pretty strange mix of sour & cough syrup,… Sort of liked it but an odd brew overall.
3.7 The current version of the classic Felix oud bruin, brewed by colleague Verhaeghe since the very regrettable shutdown of the Clarysse brewery in 2002. Light beige, creamy, moussy head, dark brown colour with warm ruby hue. Sweet fruit aroma suffused by a soft sourishness, impressions of raisins, passion fruit, sweet honey, brown sugar, sour cream, brambleberries, medium dry sherry, some oak. Soft malty and fruity taste, initially sweet but turning lemon- and even a bit vinegar-like sourish which never becomes really sharp, just a mellow, fresh tartness, slowly merging with a caramelly and somewhat toasted maltiness, finishing in a dry sourishness, complex, bit woody and very agreeable. Definitely different from Clarysse’s original version, but in good hands, as Verhaeghe is still one of the leading oud bruin makers - fortunately.
3.5 Bottle from Willems @ hotel room, France. Clear dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark sugar and balsamico. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Sweet and moderate acidic finish. 130714
3.3 Pours clear dark brown with a small, tan head. The aroma contains malt, cherry, vinegar, raisin and bread. It tastes light fruity sweet and medium sour with a light dry finish - good balance. Medium body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Decent. (Edited 25/7/17)
3.4 Bottle. Deep amber color with a thin off-white head. A bit sour aroma of dried apple, caramel and raisin. Sweet taste with some sourness. Medium body.
3.5 Medium brown head, black colour with a slightly red glow, sweet fruity soft cherry sour winegum smell, medium carbonation high sour fruity wine cherry taste
3.5 Vintage somewhere in the 1950’s. Flat, no carbonation. Aroma of port with sour fruity notes. Very drinkable. This beer aged very well.
2.6 Bottle from Geers. Dark almost black pour with thin light brown foam. Aroma is super acetic, balsamic vinegar, garlic, oak, ketchup, brown sugar, rich italian food aromas that are a bit too overwhelming here. Taste is tart but with a rich malty body, quite acetic with tons of oak tannins and a sweet ketchup-y finish. Not one of my favorites for sure, bleh.
3.0 Flasche (33 cl) von Hopduvel, Gent. - Dunkles Kastanienbraun, rasch schwindender beigefarbener Schaum.
3.7 Sharp, sour old Flemish brown beer. Drunk from 25cl bottle in Brasserie de Cridts in Oudenaarde.
3.8 The strong sour aroma is scary. The head is not even white, maybe a light beige. On the direct light the color is dark red. The taste is frizzy, sweet and sour, somehow refreshing. I like it on the palate. It’s really an interesting drinking. I don’t know exactly why but I want to drink this beer again.
