3.9 Draft at Moriartys. Murky/opaque orange pour with a soft soapy white head. Lots of lace. Feels thick and creamy. Navel oranges. Mango. Pineapple. Passionfruit. Pink grapefruit. Some florals. Some pine. Medium-full body. Big but not over the top. Easy drinking. Not particularly challenging but a solid NEIPA.
3.9 Nice super light, crisp and dry, piney. Pours a hazed golden color with white head. Leaves you thirsting for another sip. Notes: on tap at Fools Gold NYC, Jun ‘21
5.0 Fruity and hazy. Great flavor. Not to bitter. I can’t wait to drink more.
3.5 On tap at Stonecutter’s Pub. Pours hazy straw yellow with a white head. Citrus and yeasty aroma. Light bitterness. Pretty good.
3.3 On tap at Bukowskis. Pours hazy yellow. Grapefruit, orange zest, light bitterness, tangerine, citrus juice, grassy. Medium body. Fine.
3.7 (Can) Cloudy yellow-orange body with a medium, dense, white head that slowly recedes with thick lacing and stuff peaks. Aroma and flavor are moderately sweet and juicy, with citrus and tropical fruit; orange, mango, melon, light papaya. Light body with soft mouthfeel and some soft carbonation.
3.8 Sharp citrus and floral hop aroma Cloudy fan yellow color with a medium white head. Lightly bitter in the beginning that gets stone in the finish. Slightly sweet in the end.
4.2 Very nice hazy.Light crisp citrus, blend of pine & resin.Great casual beer
3.8 Hoppy dank aroma. Cloudy and gold in color with decent head. Taste is of grapefruit, tangerine, pine, light resin, faint tropical notes.
2.2 Four-pack of cans from Super Buy Rite, packaged over a week ago. Nose of heavy resin, touch of musty tropical fruit and lotion -- something off here, it's not diesel like hops can sometimes put out, but it's not good. Pour opaquely hazy golden, dirty looking, soapy bright white head. Taste lightly sweet, lightly tangy, excellent juicy natural fruit throughout with a long bready finish that doesn't just taste like raw yeast. Pineapple, tangerine. Lots of citrus, some malt, a hint of musty dank-adjacency. Medium body, maybe lighter, light alcohol presence and warmth throughout. Crisp and clean, with very pleasant lingering tanginess. Doesn't do it for me. [2020.10.09: 2.2]
3.7 Draft at Tony C’s in Boston on the water. Pretty much your classic hazy, New England IPA. Mild bitterness with some dank, almost skunky, earthy mineral notes. Balanced nicely with some sweet citrus and malt. Mild bitterness. Very easy drinking. 20oz draft disappeared easily. Very enjoyable.
4.1 From a 16 o. can stamped 08/10/20. Hazy yellow-peach colored pour with a modest white head. Loads of floral, grassy, and fruity hops in the aroma. The body is light. The taste really juices up my senses with a sweet beginning and a finish of grapefruit, grass, and tropical fruit.
3.7 Can (6/12/20) pour from a trade with Johnnnniee--thanks, John! Appearance is opaque dark yellow with tons of sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width fizzy white head with fair retention and nice leggy lacing. Aroma is resinous pine dominant over onions and milder biscuit and citrus. Taste is strong bitter resin, mild herbal and cracker backbone. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, frothy texture, average carbonation and dry finish as taste with bitterness the dominant feature. Overall, well crafted and basically true to the description, but smells and tastes like a West Coast IPA. It's like if you were at a party where they were serving NEIPA's but you liked West Coast IPA's and wanted to look like you fit in. More bitter than I'd like (and the 53 IBU would suggest).
4.0 Pint can. Pineapple aroma with notes of mango, grapefruit, orange and some floral hops. Pours hazy pale golden colored with a large white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with juicy pineapple, mango and grapefruit citrus flavors. Finishes smooth and a touch dry with orange and floral hop flavors. Wonderful hazy ipa.
3.9 Written a few days after I had it - didn't realize initially it was different than the second-fiddle. I will go back and write a better review sometime soon. Gold-mustard, lightly cloudy, thin white head. Aroma/Flavor have a moderate crisp bitterness with some piney notes to compliment big citrus and somewhat tropical fruity notes up front. Some ultra-fresh hop-pellet flavors (think fresh wort without the cloying sweetness). Pretty heavy. Like this better than the double fiddle - I nice meld of west-coast and New-England IPA styles! Cloudier than the second fiddle.
4.5 On tap at hills country bar in Chepachet RI - strong citrusy iPA…
4.1 Hazy golden color with a medium white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Floral hops, pine, citrus, orange and a bitter grapefruit finish.
3.9 Draft pour. Really juicy pineapple aroma. Very hazy yellow with a hint of orange. Flavors of pine resin, pineapple and nice light biscuit notes. Nicely done.
3.6 Tap at Mission Bar and Grill. Murky burnt gold with a small, foamy, white head that lasts and laces well. Aromas grapefruit, pine, bread, light peach and herbal notes. Flavor is the same, citrus front, bread in the middle and bitter pine and herbal notes on the end. Medium bodied, soft and smooth with a dry, bitter finish.
3.5 On tap at The Blue Tusk (Syracuse, NY). Cloudy golden body with an average, lasting, white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with herbal hints. Its good malty/hoppy taste carries herbal and melon notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish.
3.8 From tap at Fools Gold, New York. Aroma is lots of orange, some tangerine, tropical notes, mango, grapefruit, light pale malt. Light to moderate sweet, fairly bitter finish. Quite tasty, well-rounded IPA.
3.5 Draft. Hazy golden beer with a cream head. Tropical fruit and grapefruit aroma. Tropical fruit and grapefruit flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. tropical fruit and grapefruit linger.
3.8 On draft at the 2019 Levitate Music Festival. Most of the tents had the Fiddlehead pale which was pretty tasty in it's own right but we lucked out and found one beer tent with this IPA which was superior. Very hazy, juicy and dank. Excellent IPA.
3.0 Quite bitter. Served nice and cold, mixed with the sharp taste made it refreshing. Good for sipping, harder to drink.
3.4 Pours a soupy banana peel yellow-golden color with white head. Cream, passionfruit, mango, and pineapple aromas. Creamy oat flavor carries the estery qualities on the palate.
3.9 On tap at Church Street Tavern in an economic tall pour (23oz) for $8. Great NE IPA with a traditional hazy, orange pour and spidery lacing. However, the citra finish for this style is not overpowering; it has a “wet hop” funky, earthy finish that is both surprising and enjoyable. Cheers for the craft brew Mecca of Burlington, VT!
3.9 Optisch trübes typisches NEIPA, in der Nase Zitrus, im Trunk leicht itchy, trocken, Mango, hinten leicht bitter.
3.8 On tap at Bukowski’s, Boston. Super hazy, almost milky. Strong aroma of weed. Tangy fruit up front, nice bitter finish. Very good.
3.5 On tap at The Ginger Man, NYC. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Tropical fruit, citrus, pine. Good.
3.3 Pours hazy and straw. Aroma isn’t too strong, citrusy. Flavor is pleasant mild bitter with fruity sweetness.
