4.2 Cata ratebeer Asturias.Imperial stout envejecida en barril de Four Roses.Tiene miel aunque se apodera el bourbon.Cremosa.Potente.
4.2 Cata ratebeer Asturias en el kraken 07..05..2017. Botella 66 cl. Por aňo 2014. Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro poco persistente. Aromas y sabores intensos maltas tostadas suaves con ligeros toques ahumados. Ligeras lactosa y frutos secos. Final con intensa sensación de licor bourbon. Maderas empapadas y ligeros caramelos tostados algo carbonizados.
4.1 Coffee, peanut hull, walnut, raisin. Black, medium tan head. Raisin, charred oak, . Medium body, soft carbonation.
3.5 Bottle pour at The Sycamore. Malty semisweet aroma, flourless chocolate cake, mild spirit notes. Flavor is disjointed, heavy bready wheaty malt without the smooth chocolate and oak I expect from a 3-4-year-old bourbon barrel aged beer. Carbonation is also coarse and distracting.
4.1 At Sycamore, vintage 2013. Pitch black as all of them. Strong bourbon, lots of wood, caramel, some vanilla, boozy. Intense but not overpowered, surprisingly drinkable, some booze though. Strong bitterness, still sticky. Good.
4.0 Poured from a 2010 vintage bottle. Aroma is malt forward with moderate chocolate notes, some light roast, hints of leather, tobacco and honey. Light oak notes with medium light bourbon character. Some light dark fruit notes. Pours black with a medium small, thick, mocha head that shows excellent retention as it slowly recedes to the edges where it lingers. No lacing and medium legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with a lot of dark chocolate notes. Moderate roast with some light tobacco, leather and ash. Moderate bourbon notes with some light oak. Light honey with hints of anise and dark fruit. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice stout but the age has lightened up the malt profile a bit too much and added some anise and dark fruit. 2010 vintage is a 3.8. 2011 vintage has a lot more malt character in the form of richer chocolate notes. There are less honey notes, tobacco and leather as well. Bourbon notes come through cleaner as well. 2011 is a 4.0. 2013 vintage has more dark fruit and leather/tobacco notes than the 2011. The chocolate is also not as rich, but there his a bit more bourbon character. 2013 is a 3.9. 2014 vintage is more similar to 2011 with lots of rich, creamy chocolate notes. Less dark fruit and more bourbon. 2014 is also a 4.0
4.0 (FiftyFifty Imperial Eclipse Stout - Four Roses Single Barrel) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a snifter, marked 3/2013, ABV 11.9% on the bottle. Black coloured body, one finger of dark brown head on top, with good density and retention. Aroma has lots of bourbon and vanilla on the front, then alcohol, some chocolate. Very nice taste with roasted malts and chocolate and plenty of bourbon, light tanines, vanilla. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice.
4.1 2014 Bottle at Cafe Sara, february 19th 2016. Black body with a small beige head. Roasty aroma with bourbon, mild chocolate notes. Taste is clean coffe, vanilla and chocolate, medium sweet, light alcohol notes, with a cookie aftertaste. Impressive and good, though there are other ’less hyped’ beers just as good out there.
4.5 Aroma: Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla, wood, coconut, bourbon, chocolate and roasted malts. Appearance: Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown/dark brown beer. Taste/Palate: Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, vanilla, wood, coconut, bourbon and chocolate; ends slightly bitter with roasted malts. Overall: This beer is intense, complex and balanced. The flavour is amazing, with both the bourbon and Imperial Stout flavours being noticeable. The aroma is too bourbon focussed however.
4.0 Smell has cocoa, cake and is pretty barrel forward. Somewhat oaky. Taste is great but already has small hints of dust and cardboard due to cellaring. Might have sat on it a year too long. Not underwhelming in any way though. Rounded and oaky actually with a smooth lingering bourbony dark chocolate aftertaste.
3.9 Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver, bought in 2014 Tagged "2/2013" Black color with beige head; largely carbonated. Very nice stout with nice bourbon character, well blended together, moderately sweet, some chocolate, quite rich, but not as deep or interesting as the Rum 18y tasted side-to-side, and within the series quite simple.
4.0 22 oz bottle with 2011 red wax via trade from notes. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have bourbon on the nose but not as much to the flavor, roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruits, molasses, brown sugar, a hint of smoke, bourbon, some vanilla and wood, bourbon barrel works pretty well with this some warming alcohol.Another solid offering in this series.
4.0 Very dark, thin bubbly head. Has a sweet barrely character, sweet brown sugar, and this is complex toasty character.
3.9 Neggro opaco y espuma beis. Aromas de vainilla,  maíz y bourbon. Cuerpo denso, sabor de bourbon, maíz y final de amargor quemado y trago cálido
4.3 Black with beige head. Bourbon, coffee, bitter roasted finish. Vanilla, wood, tannines. Sweet aftertaste.
3.6 Comparative tasting of 9 different Eclipse Stout variants. All beers small to rather good yellow-beige rim over jet-black beer Spicy nose, a little young oak, perfumey, hair tonic. Little Bourbon - where’s the vanilla, where’s the young oak? Sweet-flowery, nectar, roasted retronasal. Medium to well-bodied, high alcohol(heat). Incense warming up. Not convincing, compared to the others. Ditch the Four Roses, there’s better around.
4.3 2013 Vintage. 11.9% abv printed on bottle. Inky black, with a creamy chocolate colored head, good retention, thick lace. Aroma is charred oak, smoke, coffee, dark chocolate, prune, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is sweet, rich bourbon, vanilla, spice, creamy chocolate, oak, char, caramel candy. Mouthfeel is full, round, and creamy. Nitro stout like smoothness. There is a touch of boozy heat, but still enjoyable.
4.5 Bomber @ FiftyFifty Charity Tasting: Vintage 2013: Served in a taster: Black body with light brown head/lacing. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, roast, earthy, light soap, liquorice, Flavour is roast, fudge, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, light liquorice, light chocolate, fudge... Aftertaste is roasty, whiskey, bourbon, molasses, vanilla, fudge... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Delicious!
4.1 From a 22 oz bomber, red wax, dated 2013. Bottle run is hard to read...handwritten looks like 307 for date 2013. Other side has handwritten "Rin" or something similar with 2013 date. I see no specific barrel mentioned, but it’s 11.9%, so I’m not sure if this belongs in an existing listing. There were a few 11.9% Eclipse ratings but none mentioned honey and 2013. Ah...the beer...poured in a Des Rocs chalice looks black with light brown head and lace. Aroma of dark roasted malts and dark chocolate. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of dark roasted malts, burnt malts, dark chocolate, molassas, perhaps some sweet vermouth, bitter nuts and herbs, funky tropical fruit rind. Overall big, bold, complex, after a few years still a bit hot but stimulating and tasty.
4.0 May 29, 2015. Bottle, vintage 2014. Black with a very small brown head. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, vanilla, baked apples, dark fruits, oak, chocolate and some dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet, soft roasted bitterness. Finish is sweet malty, soft roasted bitterness, caramel, baked apples, raisins, vanilla, and some warming bourbon alcohol. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation. Nice!
Birra quasi poetica, molto buona.
3.3 Smooth malty chocolate beginning. Rich but the wood and the Bourbon are quite rough, not too intense. The picture is not as round as with other Bourbon-verieties. Probably because Four Roses ist quite a cheap Bourbon... Smooth and fresh, hints of wood, hints of chocolate, Very rich but not too smooth. Sad.
4.4 22 oz bottle from Vail fine wines. 2014 edition drank on 1/1/2016. Overall taste was outstanding. Excellent balance, smooth, and easy to drink. Very enjoyable.
4.2 Bottle shared with Koelschtrinker and Beerhunter111. Black-brown color with tan ring. Aroma is spicy and fruity, but still lots of chocolate. Much rounder than the other Eclipses I’ve had this evening. Awesome!
3.8 Süßlich malziger Antrunk, schokoladig malzig. Sehr weich, geringfügig herb. Intensiv würzig, Bitterschokolade. Bis in den Nachhall nicht alkoholisch. Rad brotig, Noten von Vanille, vergoren fruchtig. Sehr gut! 12/12/12/12/10/12
4.9 I aged a 2013 bottle until December 27th 2015 and oh boy........the taste of this guy was PHENOMENAL. Worldclass by far cheers my friends.
4.0 Bomber sampled right after the 12yr Elijah Craig version. The latter has the upper hand, but this version was top notch, as well. Never thought I’d say this, but maybe it was a bit too bourbon-heavy.
4.4 Bottle from Craft (I still have one in reserve from Jersey) Drank With Dennis Bell. Beautiful notes of bourbon, dark chocolate, smoke, vanilla, bread, wood and coconut. What an amazing blend.
4.0 Black, tan head. Aroma of bourbon, caramel, chocolate, vanilla. Sweet flavour, vanilla, bourbon. Finish cacao, bourbon, loads of vanilla. (from 66cL bottle @ abijen’s Christmas non tick tasting)
4.3 Bijna zwarte kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt vol vanille, koffie, crème. Smaakt vol vanille, koffie, crème alcohol.
