4.3 Bomber @ FiftyFifty Charity Tasting: Vintage 2012: Served in a taster: Black body with crey beige light brown head. Aroma is bourbon, roast, liquorice, liquor... Flavour is roasty, brown sugars, molasses, bitters, wood, light malt roast... Aftertaste is bitter, roast, bourbon, spice, liquor, light laurel, liquorice, some wood... 3.6 dark brown black .. medium foam ring .. rich barrel, grit, wood, tar, and bourbon heat .. mouth is full .. deepens as it warms .. nice but age didn’t seem to do much in the thumbs up department . . .. i don’t often pee my pants, but when i do. i drown babies.
3.6 2012 vintage with blue wax - bottle at home. Pours deep dark brown with a creamy light beige head. subtle nutty aroma, fruity milk chocolate... Medium body, perhaps a bit watery, alcohol glowth, spicy and green coffee beans and coffee roast. Nice.
3.1 2012 bottle. Blue wax. Nose is huge in the fudge and vanilla. Light booze. Nearly black. Garnet highlights. Minimal head. A lightly oxidized lightly papery mouthfeel. Fudge and light chocolate with that still lingering paper oxidation. Light alcohol warming. Overall the mouthfeel and oxidation kill this beer. I have had many other 5050 BA Stouts that are way better.
4.0 2012. Bottle to glass. Pours a pitch black color with a creamy light tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, whisky, dark fruits, touch of vanilla, molasses. A bit smoky in the flavor. Creamy body. Very nice.
4.2 2012 bomber bottle with blue wax shared by a friend. Poured a darker black colour with a slight tanned ring on top. Nose of sweet sticky chocolate, vanill, dark toffee, roasted nuts, oak, and sweet bourbon. Taste is sticky and full bodied, with roasted malts and more sweet bakers chocolate. With sweet marshmallow and bourbon. Pretty Nice!
3.7 22 oz bottle shared by Spencer. Vintage 2012. The pour is a dark brown, light black color with a thin light khaki colored head and some spots of lace. The aroma is a little boozy that comes through with a nice chocolate and some roast. It's pretty bland. The flavor has a little oak but pretty dominated by malts and roast. It's disappointing. The mouth feel is thin and light with a lingeringly roasty aftertaste. It's good, but disappointing.
3.7 Bottle shared with koleminer20. Vintage 2012. Aroma is bourbon barrel, oatmeal with sugar, roasted malt, sweet malt, milk chocolate, very good. Appearance is black, light brown, great pour. Taste is booze, some roasted malt, chocolate, slight vanilla, pretty bland. Mouthfeel is thick, viscous, flavor is hanging and the carbonation is slightly off. Overall, I thought it would be better but it’s pretty bland.

4.4 Killer! 2012 Barrel 1, Old Fitzgerald. One of the truly great barrel aged Imperial Stouts out there! Aroma is bourbon and vanilla and the flavors are roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla and subtle oak. Very sweet, smooth almost syrupy....in a good way. Very big, some booziness. Exceptional!
3.6 22oz bottle, thanks to DanielCoor for leaving the most of this bottle with me. 2012 vintage, blue wax. Near totally black color. Ring of tan head, leaving decent ridges of lace. Some mild dark fruit, moderate roast, touch of licorice. Bit of dark chocolate. Some barrel heat. Mild spiciness and oak, Some vanilla. Rich dark chocolate and barrel aromas. Biger body. Lighter carbonation. Good thicker viscous chewiness. A solid, potent BA stout, but the heat, mild licorice and mild molasses kind of distract a bit. Some nice brown sugar, though. Very enjoyable to sip on overall. A big, tasty beer.
3.9 Bottle split at the Cotteridge Convention, massive thanks to GT2 for gifting me this one, 24/01/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is light chocolate, big roasted notes, spice, hint of coconut, dark toffee fudge, woody barrel tones. Taste comprises dark malts, rich chocolate, liqourice, molasses, toffee melt, subtle well tempered bourbon tunes. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, subtle BA wash in the close. Solid BA impy, good balance, easy drinker.

4.0 24th Jan 2015. Bottle at Cotteridge Wine meeting: cheers Colin for bringing this beauty. One of the best beers of the day in my opinion. Deep brown/black pour with a thin tanned head of a creamy texture. Aroma had a coffee, chocolate and bourbon smell, the taste similar with vanilla also within the rich flavours. Really smooth and full bodied, a really nice beer.
4.1 Boittled, sampled at The Cotteridge Convention, many thanks to Theydon_Bois for this. Black with tan head. This was a big, full beer, cocoa nibs, dark malts and roasted coffee bitterness. Lasting on the palate. A really decent beer.
4.0 Bottle share. Cotteridge Beano. Dark brown. Tan head. Rich, woody, boozy, thick, chocolate malts. Some dark truffle fruitiness. Full. Warming. Very nice.
