3.6 47,3cl can from Alko, Helsinki. Pours very dark mahogany, close to black, with a beige head. Roasty and quite hoppy aroma with licorice, dark fruits, pine, some citrus and hints of herbs. Moderate to medium sweet with a quite pleasant mixture of hoppy and roasty flavours and a balanced bitterness. Easy to drink, well integrated alcohol and certainly enjoyable.
3.5 Can at Örebro Ölcafé. Malty smell with chocolate. Similar taste, light roasted. More malty then hoppy.
3.8 Medium/strong and balanced black IPA that combines nicely roasted and fruity flavors. Dark berries, dark chocolate, slightly roasted malts, some coffee and some earthy notes. Averagely hopped. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, good performer though a bit simple.
3.8 Can 1 pint. Pours a clear black with a deep burgundy red and a beige head. Amazing aroma, citrusy hops blending in with subtle roast. Medium body, discreet sweetness in the malt balanced out by a dry bitterness - but everything is so subtle and refined. One of the best Black IPAs I’ve ever had. 291116 8/4/8/3/15
3.7 Can. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Dark red amber colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter nice roasted flavor. Average heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.
3.7 on draft that poured a dark brown but not quite opaque, nice malty nose with the hop accent. the flavor surprisingly was more wheat that I expected and blended with the hops it was very good. so good I had two. nicely blended between the roast and the hop. very good job.
3.3 1 pt can. (Alko) Tampere, Finland. Black color with a big foamy tan head. Roasted malt, caramel, marmalade, mild hops and some licorice in the aroma. Doesn?t smell that fresh. No freshness information in the can. The distributor says it?s BB next June. That?s a lot for an IPA. It might be brewed in June this year... unfortunately. The flavor is roasted malt, licorice, salty licorice, dryness, some caramel sweetness and not-that-fresh hops. Some spicy and metallic notes there too. Maybe better when fresh?

3.9 This rather adventurous brew reminds me of saying: “"One person with passion is better than forty people merely interested." -E. M. Forster
2.3 500ml can (The Beer Shop, St Albans) Messy soapy aroma. Can’t prepare me for the taste. Really messy taste, metallic, a bit of iron and burnt cabbage. Dead palate, smoothish with the sweetness. Finish has burnt cabbage too. Nasty metallic mess.
3.3 500ml can (thanks FatPhil). Black color. Small size, brown head, stays. Malty, fruity, citrus, sweet in taste. Malty, sweet, nutty, grassy, malty and roast in taste. Grassy, malty and roast in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Soft plus bitterness. Alcohol is kind of hidden. Solid brew.

3.0 The aroma is full of hops, chocolate, earth, yeast, pine, citrus, dried fruits and caramel. The color is pitch black and the head is minimal and brown. The taste is full of hops, chocolate, earth, coffee, yeast, pine, citrus, caramel and dried fruits. A decent beer!
3.3 Darkk brown body, light brown head. Aroma has roasted malts, coffee, dark boiled caramelly fruits. Flavour is heavy with some unpleasant fruitiness. Not the best black IPA I’ve had.
3.4 Can. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has some milk chocolate, pine, orange, clementine and a whiff of coffee. Not sure about the palate, it feels quite thin. After taste is lovely and layered, sweet chocolate and bitter coffee, very nice. Flavour more complex than aroma, I taste coffee, chocolate, orange, grapefruit. A nice beer.
3.4 Keg at Taphouse, CPH, 12/08/16. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is tangy red berries, charr, light roast, peppery spice. Taste comprises brown bread, cocoa powder, grains, light roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, earthy hop bitterness in the close. Ok CDA.
3.3 Can. Dark brown close to black with a large dark brown head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Roasted malt, citrus, pine, mild chocolate in the nose. Good. Flavour has roasted malt, charcoal, light soapy notes, citrus, citrus dish washing liquid. Medium body, lively carbonation, medium sweet and bitter, somewhat acidic. Odd, but not that bad.
3.7 Really dark brown color with light brown head. Aroma has earthy hops, resin, chocolate malt and generic sweet malts. Taste starts with roasted, resiny hops, medium bitterness throughout, roasty finish but also some grapefruit pith underneath. Medium to light body and medium carbonation. Quite bitter black IPA but I like it.

3.3 From tap. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is peachy to grapefruity hoppy. Crisp hoppy, slight fruity. Toasted malty, perfumed. Floral. Toasted malty and solid hoppy into the finish.
3.5 1 pint can. Black, with a massive tan head. Roasted, sweetish malty aroma with grapefruit and notes of resin. The flavour is roasted malty, with chocolate and coffee, and a bitter piney-hoppy finish. Pretty good stuff.
3.7 Canned. Pours deep brown with a large, lacing tan head. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, chocolate notes, citrus and earthy notes. Sweet flavor that ends up being more dry and pleasant bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice BIPA indeed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
