1.0 Sweet, unrefreshing, chemical overtones. Reminds you of the cold, miserable end of a mug mulled wine from a discount own brand cardboard container.
1.2 It’s just bad. Weird sweetness with sofa taste. Ew.
3.0 Draught at Les Corruptibles, Colmar, France. Poured a crystal clear dark amber with an off-white collar that laced poorly. Carbonation rare, slow and medium. Aroma moderately strong of sweet caramel. Taste is sugary sweet with creaming soda flavours. Light body. Smooth with quite a sweetness on a lingering finish.
2.2 One of the staple beers of the old Brasserie du Pêcheur, now in the hands of Heineken; comes from a rather stylish bottle, doubtlessly to help justify the price. From some supermarket in de Dordogne region. Moussy, off-white, closed, frothy, papery lacing head, cristal clear orange blonde robe with salmon pinkish tinge. Weird and artificial aroma of rosewater, sugar syrup, 7Up lemonade, ‘cooked cloth’ pasteurization, violets, cherry essence, honey, orange water, sweetbread, carrots from a can. Very sweet and sugary onset, cloying and unpleasant with a perfumey note of orange water; canned pear and raspberry sweet notes as well, fizzy carbonation. Slick, minerally middle with a near-lemonade-like sweetness sticking to a cereally, thinly caramelly malt body, hardly any (hop or other) bitterness in the finish, with the sugariness – by this time fortunately in a rather diluted form – still dominating. Very sugary ‘ambrée’, almost Radler-like, probably intended to be as accessible as possible to consumers who have never tasted ‘real’ beer before – ghastly and way worse than expected, though this brand never brought me any joy ever since I first encountered it.
1.9 Clear amber red colour, dissipating white head. Sweet aroma, banana, candy. Sweet flavour, candy. Sweet finish. Bit disappointing, really, was expecting something different. (draught @ a local bar, Honfleur, France)
3.3 Trop sucrée, dommage.
3.2 Amber colour, white small head, artificial candy - sweet aroma, light body, quite watery.
Tres sucree. Sur les épices. Bonne mais trop sucrée
2.5 This was the second time I drank it. Color is amber, with a head that dissipates very quickly. The taste is at first sweet like red fruits Kompot and then nothing else. There is just this sweet blank taste. There is some bitterness in the end but not so defined. It tasted better the first time.
2.3 Bottle from Carrefour in Paris. Aroma cloying - sweet and medicinal spices. Might be better in winter!
2.6 Bottle at friends place in France. Nice ambar colour, not bad but not so special
Redelijk volmondig. Afdronk: zoet, mirabellen.
1.6 Bottle, 65cL. Home. A sparkling amber beer with a big off-white foamy head ; good retention. Light citrus, sugar, lemonade, candies notes, light caramel. Light to medium sweet, dry bitter note refreshing. Light to medium body, thin texture, soft carbonation, sweet short sugary finish. Overall, unpleasant, sugary. Alsacian hops deserve better.
2.0 Bottle at New Years party. Light amber with small off white head. Lots of skunky notes, sweet cardboard, cinnamon, cloves, sugar. Quite sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied. The spices are the only good thing about this.
2.2 Helles klares braun kaum schaum, Geruch karamell malzig, Geschmack ist sehr süß karamell leicht orange leicht frucht irgendwie lasch
2.5 Bottle - dorelei ambree, sweet aroma. Darkish amber, small off white head, constant carbonation. Bit sweet tasting, light caramel - too sweet.
2.8 650ml Bottle from Casino Supermarket, Place de la Bastille, Paris, France (2022) and Monoprix Department Store, Grasse (2016). Dark amber coloured with a thick white head of foam. It has a sweet apple and plum flavour with toffee and malt followed by a warming almond and fruity finish. Not bad but a little too high in the ABV for the flavour.
1.5 A pretty mediocre amber. Earthy, slick, and creamy. A little bready caramelly sweetness. Courtesy of Erol in 2016.
2.9 BBE 05/2017. 65cl pullo, Doreleï. Kirkas, heikon ruskea väri, ok vaahto. Tuoksu makean maltainen. Suutuntuma makea vetinen kurkku, liukkaahko, tahmeahko. Semiok.
2.6 650ml Flasche. Klar und bernsteinfarben mit kleiner Krone. Karamellaroma. Sehr suess.
3.1 Aroma: some malts and some caramel. Appearance: caramel brown; clear; head smallish, unstable. Taste: sweet, just slightly bitter. Palate: body medium; carbonation low; finish sweet, just a little bit herbal. Overall: not terribly sweet but still too sweet for my liking; other than that, not too bad.
3.4 way old bottle i had in my stash. clody to clear brown, smooth light brown to offwhite head. toasted sweet malty aroma. flavor is very sweet , malty, caramelly, slightly oxidized but that is probably the years it has had, pretty nice sweet malty brew, teaste almost bordering root beer.
2.3 Schöne 65cl Reliefflasche. Bernsteinfarbenes Bier, heller Schaum. Malz, Karamell und Kräuter in der Nase. Geschmack sehr süss.
