Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale

Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale

Fish Tale Organic India Pale Ale is a medium-bodied beer with a rich golden color. The organic pale and crystal malts lay down a firm malt body. This provides the backbone for an assertive hop profile featuring organic Pacific Gem. The moment the Mighty Fish Brewers sampled this pungent and resinous New Zealand hop, they knew it would be perfect for their Organic I.P.A. The result: A Cascadian treasure.

3.4 Bottle to shaker, pours hazy orange gold, One finger frothy white head. Some lacing and retention. Aroma grass and oranges. Taste is on the sweet side, some citrus hop bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation, mouth feel is slick. Finishes lightly bitter. Tasting notes of pine, lemon, grass, hay, caramel. This is more of a pale ale to me, but drinkable.
2.9 Bottle. Murky orangey brown. Smells of citrus, rotten banana, acetone, and dark fruit. Taste is dark fruit and citrus.
3.5 Rating #1139 - 27.06.2014 - On tap @revolutionyeg. Pours a golden amber - bubbly white head. Grassy malt aromatics - some citrus, some pine, floral. Palate is a little unbalanced - lots of grassy, herbal notes, sharp bitterness that overwhelms.
3.2 Mild and earthy, a bit dry with subtle grapefruit and hops. A bit dirty and trashy, though. The finish fades rather quickly. A bit bland for an IPA.
3.3 22oz bottle picked up at Yokes Pours clear golden with a medium sized frothy white head, lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet, caramel, dusty and herbal. Taste is malty, caramel, earthy, grains and resin It was just OK, wouldn’t buy another one though
3.4 Hazy orange pour, quick off white head. Nose is slightly woody malt. Bitter. Middle is lightly caramelized malt and citrus. Finish hasa cedar like bitterness.
2.7 A nice hoppy and bitter IPA. Malt heavy and also has notes of pine with a good hop bite.
3.6 An average IPA that kind of looks like an Amber Ale with a malty color, but it was very smooth. I had it on tap at California Craft in the Bay Area, CA and I’d probably have it again on tap. Not sure if I would ever get it in the bottle though...
3.0 "another aerage IPA from Fish. Not bad at all, but very average. The "new hop" Pacific Gem is fairly indistinguishable, and the malt is too much of the flavor. An underhopped IPA. That said, it was enjoable enough, but not one I’d get again."
2.5 This is a particularly malty IPA, I think to its detriment. Rather smooth, mellow; a little citrus.
3.3 NW IPAs, getting difficult to keep track. Nice amber body, soft airy head. Hoppy aroma, citrus/pine taste, but very smooth.
2.4 Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy yellow to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing involving itself around the glass. The smell had a weird grainy / grassy sort of bitter citrus thing going on. The taste was mainly the same. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and did have a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed alright. Overall, this was a mostly decent AIPA that I probably wouldn’t seek out again.
3.3 Draft at Olympia brewpub. Pours clear amber with nice lacing. Caramel, pine; muddled. Toasted thick grain cereal. Some citrus and green apple. Taste: caramel sweetness with bitter finish. Classic IPA. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.5 Overall not a terrible IPA. the flavor is a bit weak and so is the aroma, but the pour is a nice color with a nice head.
3.3 Pours pale orange-gold with a white head. Aroma is pretty solid malt backbone. Grain, biscuit, and caramel. Floral, overripe grapefruit and oranges, a little earthy. Taste is grapefruit, orange, bready malt, earthy, mineral, and medium bitterness. Seltzery carbonation, light-med body, resinous with a dry finish. Overall a pleasant IPA.
3.6 On tap at the brewpub. Clear yellow pour with an off white head. Citrusy hop aromas. Mild citrus and fruity hop notes. Good balance with a sturdy malt backbone. Average body and mouthfeel.
3.3 22oz bottle 4/13/14 (Crown Liquors #15-Fishers)-39° in Shaker-Pours a murky orangish amber with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and malt. Taste of hops, malt, and bitterness. This medium bodied brew is not too shabby.
2.2 Hazy orange color, has a decent size head that holds strong but little lacing. smells of mild hops, floral, citrus and floral. flavor is very mild/ orange peel, hops, herbs and slightly bitter. somewhat of a dry finish. I am not a fan would not recommend and I probably won’t drink this beer again.
3.6 Bottle. Nose has some citrusy grapefruit notes to it and just a slight bit of floral hoppiness underneath. Taste is somewhat bitter, but not overly fresh or clean. an alright ipa.
2.9 Pours clear yellow, finger white head Smell grapefruit, fruity Taste fruity citrus, melon, fairly hoppy with a decent malt backbone Lighter body Decent
3.9 Cloudy orange. Skunky hop aroma. Sips full and smooth. Nicely Hopped And We’ll balanced. Nice slight citrus hop flavor and sugar sweetness. Surprisingly good ipa.
3.2 Bottle. Nose has some citrusy grapefruit notes to it and just a slight bit of floral hoppiness underneath. Taste is somewhat bitter, but not overly fresh or clean. Decent drink, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
2.7 Bit of bitter sage, grapefruit, and floral tones with only a mild hoppy aroma. Slight lemon grass with sweet notes in the end.
3.5 355ml bottle. Somewhere between hazy and clear, amber and gold. Soapy, whipped foam on top. Grassy, resinous hop aroma plus caramel maltiness. Tangy orange, hop bitterness. Nice tropical linger. Not a stand-out in any category, but solid stuff all round.
3.3 On tap at the brewery. Sparse note: copper pour minimal off white. Lemon bitter. Little mineral, herbal, pine. 6.6
3.1 12oz bottle. Poured a relatively clear copper color with a medium sized foamy white head. Aroma was a touch of light sweet malts with plenty of earthy hop notes. Flavor was light hops, sweetness, plenty of earthy notes with a touch of herbal notes in the mix.
2.9 12oz bottle thanks to buckeyeboy. Pours a light gold with a small white head. Taste of light fruit with a bit of a fresh water.
3.5 Bottle. Salem Oregon, Oregon State Fair. This is a good beer. citrus aroma, with a copper amber color. Medium to heavy hop, and a mild aftertaste. Pretty good beer, would like to try it on draft to get a better feel.
2.4 Bottle 355ml @ Hotel Room, Courtyard Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa, CA Pours clear golden with a white head, Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, floral and grass. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a grassy, caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
2.8 Bottle, 12oz. An unclear, orange beer topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Citrus peel and some pine cones and a generic fruityness in the aroma, rather boring and uninteresting. Lacking on most things. That goes for the flavor too, where there’s also some caramel hints and bitterness. Quite dry on the palate, medium body. A superbly boring beer. 130806
