Fish Tale Organic Wild Salmon Pale Ale

Fish Tale Organic Wild Salmon Pale Ale

Remarkably bright with a crisp hop finish, Fish Tale Organic Pale Ale is a beautifully balanced jewel of brewing. Its four organic malts impart a mellow sweetness that’s amply matched by Yakima Cascade hops. Pale ale enthusiasts will treasure this ale as much as they love Cascadia, the beautiful land that inspired it!

3.3 Pours a cloudy dark copper colour. Microhead with a little lace. Taste starts with sweet malt up front then pine and faint citrus, followed by bitterness that coats your tongue. I’d have it again
2.2 Bottle from Wegmans. Pours clear golden with very little head that dissipates quickly to a few bubbles. The aroma has floral notes, a bit of a citrusy note, but nothing defined. The taste is lightly bitter with a toasted malt balance. Meh.
2.3 "a little thick and overly malty for the style imho. didn’t really care for it. seems to me like this brewer is hit or miss but the couple organics i remember off hand were a slight miss."
3.1 A little light on aroma and flavor, and light on hops too. Good hot weather beer, nice mouth feel. Malty, close to amber ale. Small creamy, tight head.
3.5 Draft at brewery. Pours clear amber with white head. Citrus, resin, caramel on the nose. Taste: toast, cereal, biscuit/cracker. Lightly sweet, light-moderate bitterness. Medium- body. A bit floral. Pretty nice pale.
2.8 Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy orange colored body with a one finger white foamy head that rapidly dies within about twenty seconds, clingy lacing circles the glass and takes a while to spider web, though a hazy body, some carbonation is seen rising. The smell had burnt citrus, and a little bit of biscuit. The taste was mainly sweet through the citrus, tries to be bitter but kinda comes through in a bland way, slight citrus aftertaste, slick finish. On the palate, it was light, sessionable. Carbonation is pretty light and smooth, different for the style, but not bad to me. Overall, this is not bad for an APA, but not the greatest APA on the market, would I have this again? Unsure for the most part, but I guess the thing its got goin’ for it is that its organic, that’s if you like that sort of thing.
3.0 Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a mostly clear light amber color. Nose was pretty light on this one, though I could get a little bit of floral elements to it. Taste was decently bitter with a nice bite. OK.
2.7 Bottle courtesy of Pedro. Pours a hazy brownish orange with thin, diminishing beige head and soapy lace. Nose of caramel, bread, citrus. Medium to light body, more citrus flavor than aroma but dominated by the malt.
3.0 Hazy orange pour with frothy head. Nice fragrant aroma mainly from the hops. Not much flavor though. A little malt and a little more hops. Dry finish & high carbonation.
2.4 Pours bronze gold and hazy, almost caramel in color, with a fat, foamy yellow-white head. Some nice webbed and wet lacing. Aroma is mildy earthy and floral but there is not much to it. Taste is quite subdued, though creamy, with only a touch of caramel malt and some hop bitterness towards the finish. Improves with warming, but just drinkable (and sessionable) and not memorable. Chug - no need to sip!
2.4 Bottle. Slightly hazy dirty yellow pour with a small head. Hops taste a bit old. Bit of cardboard over the top of some muted floral and citrus hops. Pretty watery as well.
3.1 Pour from a 12oz bottle. Slightly cloudy amber brew with off white head. Somewhat weak aroma of citrus and green fruit. Taste is dry and light, the faintest hint of malt at the start with a finish of tart fruit and citrus. What is there is great and this could be a fine refreshing brew on a hot day - but, it is a little tepid and weak.
2.9 Serving: Bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a light amber color with a small white head. The nose is rather subdued with a little fruitiness and slight florals. The flavor is a little sweet up front with a hint of peach and florals. Weak flavor wise and flabby on the tongue. Mediocre.
3.9 Great micro. Drink this with any meal...well not pasta. Still a great all around Beer!
2.7 bottle. deep golden with small head. mild malt base and moderate hops. a bit of a strange earthiness to this.
3.0 12 ounce bottle. Pours golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and florals. Taste is lemon, florals, and malt. Average APA.
2.7 12 oz. bottle. Pours pale amber with a large foamy off white head that slowly fades and leaves a foamy tight film and some lacing. Aroma has some muted earthy hops and sweet malt and light citrus rind soapiness in the end. Taste is bitter soapy and lemon with watery gritty malt. Palate is thin gritty and dry.
2.9 Clear orange yellow color. Very mild aroma, maybe some mild red fruit tones. Clean body. Short crisp finish. Not overly hoppy. Good and easy drinking.
3.1 Bottle sample at Calgary beer fest. Hazy amber color, white head. Aroma of perfume. Taste is floral and bitter.
2.1 Further proof that just because something is organic does not mean that it is good. +++ Sampled form a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-apricot color with a small soapy tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy, sweet sugar and very faint tropical fruits. The flavor was tangy table sugar, a hint of tartness, cardboard and very faint tropical fruits. Short finish of sugar and fruit. Medium body. Disappointing.
2.7 Pours clear orange with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is pine and floral hops with peach and pear esters and cookie malt. Flavor is medium hops and bitterness, light malt and clean with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.
3.5 Orange, foamy head, watered down, mild flavors, hops are well done. Could used more malt balance.
3.1 One finger head, light amber color, floral aroma, light but delicious flavor. Nice citrusy notes.
3.8 Nice hoppy aroma, not as strong as desired but sweet mild and pleasant. Average lasting head on beer. Taste is hoppy enjoyable a bit watery in mouth feel. Nothing special, but certainly not bad a decent beer.
3.2 Bottle. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Crisp, earthy, hoppy aromas and flavors. Very drinkable but unspectactular pale ale.
2.7 Somewhat hoppy. Otherwise fairly plain pale ale. Some notes of malts as an afterthought.
2.9 Bottle from Darby’s, Vancouver Hazy amber color. Mild aroma of hops, malt, fruits and cereals. Some malt and cereals flavor; ordinary bitterness; dry finish. Simple Pale Ale, not very aromatic; it may be not fresh anymore.
2.9 355ml bottle pours a golden color with a finger of white head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is bold grapefruit with some cereal grains and mild caramel. Taste is a malty sweetness up front with a lingering hop bitterness that was not in my comfort range. Light to medium body with light carbonation. I found the hoppiness to be quite harsh which detracted from my rating.
2.7 Slightly tart, malty, and earthy. A strange finish that is not at all crisp or hoppy. Okay, but certainly not a standout for the style.
3.2 150712. Tap@Fish tale pub, Olympic wa. Pours clear golden with a minimal head. Aroma slight hops, crystal malts. Low palate. Easy to drink.
