2.9 Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a lot of sediment and thin white head that disappeared extremely quickly. Aroma is orange peel, yeast a hint of lambic basement. Flavor is malt, orange peel, sparkling wine, strawberries. Quite dry.
1.1 amber orange color with lots of junk floating inside. Weird roots aroma. Taste of something root-y and for sure a bit of ginger. really bad aftertaste. I did not like this beer, at all.
3.3 355 ml bottle at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 7.5% Bright golden orange colour on the body, with a very froathy off-white head on top, that disappears in seconds just like a soft drink’s foam. Big chunks floating around in the beer’s body. Aroma of juniper berries, oranges, spices, white pepper, laurel. Taste is sour and bitter at the same time at first, strong taste of laurel leaves, white grapes, light alcohol, spices. Bitter on the aftertaste with good duration. Thin to medium thin body, quite carbonated. Dry and tart on the palate. Tastes like home made strong wine, kind of weird those flavours in my beer but very interesting as well and the final result is not bad at all, on the contrary.
3.1 12oz bottle. Pours a clear amber-orange color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is very spiced and floral. Taste of spruce, heather, biscuit, sour, spicy, and earthy, with a woody finish. Smooth, medium body.
3.2 Bottle at Delirium Hoppy Loft. Clear amber - white head. Arome: Tea. Herbal. Licorice. Bay Leave. Candy sweetness. Taste: Spicy. Caramel. Rosemary. Bar leaves. Cocoa.
2.6 Bottle at Delirium. Orange-brown with lace. Big herbal nose, spices, menthol, ginger, medicine. Very herbal flavor, mint, caramel, pepper. I see what they were trying, but the result is almost undrinkable to me.
3.6 Reminiscent of an herbal cola in aroma and flavor, balanced by herbal bitterness and sweetness. Very drinkable.
1.4 Hazy amber with a fizzy, disappearing, tan head. When I poured it, large chunks came out which I guessed were ginger. When I re-poured it, they had mostly dissolved with a few gelatin bits left. Strange. Smells like a traditional ale, with spices - ginger and fruit with an herbal nod. Malt, caramel, wood. Medium thin body with soft carbonation. Tastes of grapes, vegetables and wood and the finish is consumed with cloves, cinnamon, orange peel and lemon. Overall it feels very syrupy to me with so much ginger and alcohol that I can’t really enjoy it and I like ginger beers. Sweet with a dry grassy finish. Eventually it got a bit sickly and I couldn’t really finish it.
4.0 A hazy, orange red beer with a weak white head. A spicy and fruity aroma, plus a light herbal nose in the background. Dry mouthfeel. A bitter hop flavour, that's bolstered by a potent herbal flavour, thyme and burnt rosemary, plus a grassy element thats. Reminiscent of "Bärwurz". This is then followed by a sweeter orange peel with clove and cinnamon spice. All vying for attention right the way through to the finish.
Pivo má velmi originální chuť a aroma, velmi mile mě tímto překvapilo, nicméně, vzhledově bez pěny a s velkými cucky kalu nevypadá příliš chutně.
3.0 Hmmmm. Rusty orange pour, no head. Aromas of cola, malt, coriander, spice. Interesting. Not sure how many I could drink but an interesting example of a hopless beer.
1.9 Aroma of oddly, parmigiano cheese. Cloudy, mid-color pour with discernable particulates. No head to speak of. Creamy, medium carbonation. This is the first beer of this style I’ve had that hasn’t sucked.
2.4 Amber color, small head. In aroma some malts with herbs and spices. Taste is very intensive with full of herbal notes. Alcohol in background. It’s not easy to drink. One small bottle is totally enough. Zero IBU IPA from Brewdog is much easier too drink.
3.1 A bottle at home, and a glass at the ’24 uurs van Maastricht, the bottle at home was less great but still it was an interesting beer, what you can do without hops, overall a decent beer;
2.1 Very scent of bay leaves. The taste is very sour unfortunately. Long and rather dull finish. Nah man can be without this beer. Yes if you do not like sour beers ie. Follow me @ Kung av öl / King of Beer @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.6 Tap at Leids Bierfestival, Leiden: Hazy orange coloured brew with an load of taste of citrus fruits, different kinds of berries. Enjoyed the tangy bitter taste.
2.3 Poured a murky light amber with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops. Medium body, flavour is fairly unbalanced, not a good attempt at anything.
2.7 Aroma is of rosemary and bay leaves (spaghetti bolognese or beef stew), but the taste is flat and bitter. I think the combinations of herbs clashes. Big disappointment. Update: we let the beer breathe for over two hours. Afterwards, the taste was much better. I recommend drinking this at room temperature.
2.2 ivory white head that disappears fast slight lacing. amber clear colour. aroma of clove, and clove, and even more clove and some rose water. taste of clove. medium carbonation and body. better than the brewdog one, but by a marginal distance. almost wish i could un-drink both :) bottle 33 cl
3.5 Bottle. Slightly cloudy with some sediment floating around. Quite spicey but in all honesty not one of their best. A bit dissapointing.
3.6 Bottle. IPA with spices is a good idea. Nice appearance, nice flavor. Would definitely buy more.
3.3 bottle. Amber with small head. Gruit style with plenty of herbs. Seems a bit smoother and more balanced than the Brewdog version. Perhaps a bit less distinctive, but I think the flavors here work a lot better together. I could drink a lot of this.
2.3 from tap @ 24uurs of maastricht. this is a once but never again beer. all those herbs, it’s just to much. smells weird and it taste weird.
3.7 Like no other you better cook with all the herbs and spies to like this one. Aroma is sage, thyme and pepper. Full of flavors that are kitchen oriented. Very good beer but ones is enough for me. A must try at thanksgiving with the turkey.
3.6 Bottle. Appearance: clear caramel, no head. Aroma: super malty, chartreuse, pumpkin, rosemary, mint, flavour : rosemary, mint, chartreuse, spices. So odd. Good though.
2.7 Pours golden orange with a fleeting white head. Smells of grass and spices. Tastes mellow, with spices, mint, and pine. Watery on the palate. Not a big fan of either of the International Arms Race beers, but I have to say that Flying Dog’s is better in my opinion.
3.0 Tap @NBF’13 oranje en niet heldere kleur, ruikt en smaakt naar PEPER, kruidig, prikt op je tong, licht fruitig smaakje, maar de peper overheerst de smaak
2.5 Tap @ NBF13. Very hazy, opaque orange with a medium, creamy white head. Smells a whole lot of pepper. Way too much. Blows away all other smells. Tastes bizarre. A mix of non-warming peppers and green twigs/leaves. Herbs. Medium body, soft carbo.
2.9 New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($3): Pours a weird cloudy orange with no head. Aroma is ginger, juice, and more ginger. Taste is a bit sweet. Heavy ginger undertones mixed with a berry flavor. This doesn’t really taste like beer. It wasn’t bad, but I think we need to experiment a whole lot more before hopless beer takes off again, which I hope that it does. Perfectly drinkable though and alcohol is covered well.
