Flying Dog Dead Rise

Flying Dog Dead Rise

Dead Rise was brewed to highlight the indelible character of Old Bay through bright and refreshing citrus hop notes and a crisp tart finish. Our brewers worked with the spice experts at Old Bay for over six months to develop the recipe and craft a beer that will quickly earn its spot alongside the iconic yellow, blue, and red tin.

3.4 Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of malt, spicey yeast, white pepper, ester and orange zest. Taste has herbs, malt, white pepper, yeast esters, something ginger-ish and a mild spicey afterburn in the throat. Weird, but interesting and not unpleasent.
3.2 Bottled 355ml. -at Pivoteka Zagreb. Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, mild spicy citrusy nose. Light spicy, notes of grapefruit and citrus with touch of herbs and subdued ginger. Light bitterness in the finish.

3.0 12oz bottle at Thames Oyster House. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Pale malt, orange, floral hops, ginger, spice, black pepper. Grainy, spicy finish. Interesting beer, good with food.
3.2 Una experiencia muy productiva. Se aprecian potentes cítricos, quizá pomelo. En boca es de cuerpo medio que tiende a ligero, buen balanceo y muy refrescante en líneas generales. La he disfrutado.
3.2 Net iets te weinig pfissh. Kruidig zoet-zurig biertje. Vol mondgevoel dat snel vervaagt.
3.3 MDATE: July 8, 2017... OCCASION: at Gil and Becky’s shore house for the weekend, enjoying a beautiful day... GLASSWARE: Jersey Shore pint (paid for in Jenks tickets last year)...pours a light golden body with sparse effervescence from a growler... head is white, swirling, and quickly out of its juice... definite peppercorn, mustard, clove, ginger and allspice cocktail... the inhalation is enjoyable, if accurate... first sip is medium-bodied, lightly textured, but overall swift in its draw... the finish lingers with the weight of caramel and bread malts... the "old bay" makes for a ginger and allspice, while lemon and orange peel suggest a pale ale hides somewhere in here... applaud the idea to introduce these elements into a beer... willing to attempt a pairing with dogs, burgers and fries... as a stand alone, reasonable and not outside the realm of enjoyable....
2.9 Bottle shared with my colleague Kees @ De Beyerd, Breda. Clear orangy color, medium to full sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, moderately herbal / spicy, sweet herbs or spices, spicy hop bitter but sweetness dominating. Body is decent, carbonation is medium to firm. Hmm no t a fan. Too much herbs / spices for me.

3.8 Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 12.05.18, 33 cl sample. Ingredient list doesnt say spices, which is strange (and not allowed according to Dutch law, unless there is homeopathic amounts of spices in it). Hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma of grassy hop, lime, some spicy note. Soft bitterness, coriander?, lime. Its slightly spicy, but also refreshing. I quite like it, after a bikeride in blazing summer.
