Flying Dog In-Heat Wheat Hefeweizen

Flying Dog In-Heat Wheat Hefeweizen

Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

2.4 Bland. Pours cloudy yellow, the head is thin. The aroma is malty but a little medicinal. The flavor is a little like a dry white wine up front; slightly fruity, but without much to comment on one way or another in the finish. It just isn’t much of a beer.
3.0 12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured a bit hazy, orange in color, small white head. Aroma of yeast, bread and bananas. Taste is also bananas, wheat and some bitter and sour notes. OK beer, but that pretty much it.
2.5 Botella 33cl en el lúpulo en noviembre de 2010. (R1374) con fech de cons pref para antes de 08-03-2011. Una de trigo algo amarga. Normal, ligera y refrescante.
4.1 Flying Dog is really impressing me here lately, and the In Heat Wheat is no exception. So I’m not sure why its not getting the love around here.
2.3 Anaranjada, ligeramente turbia. Dos dedos de espuma, poca para una hefe. Aroma herbal ligeramente agrio. Sabor claramente dulzón, con algo de fruta, naranja. Bastante carbonatada. No llega, ni se acerca a las buenas alemanas del estilo.
2.9 Bottle. Opaque golden color, white head. Slightly yeasty aroma, toasty and fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with bready notes. Medium-light body, medium-high carbonation. Pretty standard fare.
2.4 It's a fine hefe. Not super interesting burnt can see a lot of people liking it
2.9 Bottle. Nose is banana, clove, quite largerish, bland and unappealing. Taste is very spicy and peppery leading to emerging banana and cream with more cloves and spice to finish. Mouthfeel is what you would expect. The spice in the beer is nice, the rest of it is not. My search for decent hefe continues.
3.0 330ml bottle (Alus Celle, Riga). Slightly hazy light brown color. Medium size, white head, stays. Papery, straw, dead yeast in aroma. Smells kind of old. Slight sourness, raisins, straw, dead yeast in taste. Medium carbonation. Caramel mixed with dead yeast in aftertaste.
3.1 12 oz. bottle at Fries Cafe. Pours a hazy goldish orange with a small off-white head that doesn’t amount to much before settling into a small ring. Tons of banana in this, with plenty of wheat, as well as some tangerine, clove, and very light sweet bread and spice. Light-medium bodied, with modest carbonation and a wheaty, fruity mouthfeel. Not the greatest balance but not bad.
2.2 ヘフェバイツェン へんな苦味が残る 小麦の香りはするのはする
3.0 Old rating. Bottle from Old Town. Hazy dark yellow color with head that dissipates quickly. Banana, bubblegum, clove and cinnamon on the nose. Taste is more of the same with arugula and wheat standing out in front. Fairly sweet with a peppery finish.
3.5 Pours a clear yellow with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is banana, wheat, and some spice. Flavor is sweet banana and wheat. Not very memorable, but pretty tasty.
3.0 330 ml botle from Ammersin 5, Vienna. Dark golden, hazy body, with a big, frothy, quickly dissipating, white head. Aroma of grains, hay, clove, vanilla, some banana, orange. Taste is light, with about the same aromas and some more spices and hops. Quite light mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes a bit bitter, grainy and spicy. OK, but nothing special. Ordinary Hefeweizen aromas, but with a too light taste for my liking. Drinks easy at least.
3.1 I don't know , why ... But my bottle of "InheatWheat" looked more like kristallweizen . Yellow , almost clear , small white head. Fruity , yeasty aroma . Taste is fruity and spicy with high carbonation .
3.0 Bottle, Ship in a Bottle, West Kirby. Murky gold pour with a fast fading white head. Wheaty beak with citrus and yeast notes. Flavour showed some clove, banana, lemon, wheat and a little spice. Gentle carbonation. A bit on the thin side and not really enough going on here to get the juices flowing.
3.9 Butelka 0.33L.
3.5 I had this at Global Brew. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Taste wheat, banana, fruity. I thought this was good. I could drink this again.
2.3 another non-descript wheat ale, better than some, but absolutely nothing that stands out. some weakish bubble gum, clove, and banana flavors. did nothin for me."
3.4 Bottle. Hazy golden body. Aroma of weat, clove and some banana. Floral taste, banana wheat ans yeast. Short finish with some hops. Medium carbonation. Nice beer.
2.6 Aroma of wheat, banana, citrus, spicy yeast. Flavour is similar, fruity and light sweet. Palate is a bit watery. Mediocre Hefeweizen from Flying Dog.
3.1 33cl bottle at home. Pale orange with a medium white head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Sweet with some nice herbal bitter tones. Yeast, wheat, fruits, citrus and herbs. A decent weizen!
3.0 Bottle. Clear light gold with very little head. Aroma is wheat and banana. Taste follows pretty closely but there's a strange rubbery aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel and carb. Competent for the style but that aftertaste kind of ruins it.
2.3 Bottle at Harry’s IAD. Cloudy orange yellow color, small white head. Aroma of orange peel. Taste is dilute orange juice with a bit of bubblegum at the finish.
3.1 Bottle from Appellation Wines. Hazy yellow body with a thick white head that quickly fades. Nice lacing. Aroma of straw, grass and lemon. Flavour of lemon and custard sweets and green banana. Thin body with a watery texture. Lively fizz. A bit bland and thin for a Hefeweizen.
2.6 Bottle. Hazy liquid, mustard color. Small head. Medium to light body, medium carbonation. Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Watery.
5.0 This taste almost exactly like Odell's Easy Street Wheat. My only complaint is the addition of citrus peel. If you add citrus peel you can no longer call it a hefe, it is now a witbier.
3.4 12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, best before 7/25/2014. Pours hazy deep gold color with a small foamy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing. No glass lacing, and a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light bready tartness and yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice complexity and solid robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with a good yeast/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly watery/bready mouthfeel that is ok. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a pretty solid hefeweizen. Good balance and solid robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink. It was fairly enjoyable.
