Flying Dog Numero Uno

Flying Dog Numero Uno

Introducing Numero Uno Summer Cerveza, our just-released summer seasonal that begs for warm temps and long nights. Originally released as Agave Cerveza in the summer of 2014 as part of our Brewhouse Rarities program, it’s the artisanal answer to the easy-drinking, south-of-the-border slammers the younger versions of ourselves knew and loved.

Flaked maize makes up one third of the malt bill and highlights the distinctive corn and cracker flavor traditionally found in Mexican lagers. Agave is added at the end of the boil and the lime peel post-fermentation to impart a distinct, zesty character and a crisp, clean finish. Your new Summer Cerveza clocks in at 4.9% ABV.

2.8 35,5cl Bottle @ La Tienda de la Cerveza, Madrid, Spain. Golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is grain, citrus, hints of spices. Taste follows the aroma. Medium to light body, average carbonation.
3.3 Light clear gold in the glass. Warm clean beer aroma. Flavor is corn, some citrus zest that's a little uncomfortably close to Lime Tostitos for my taste, long sweet finish. Pretty decent.
2.9 Pale yellow, light fruit aroma. Taste is slightly sour fruit, but largely it's quite sweet. A touch of hop but this is thin and meh and the weakest thing Flying Dog have done.
2.7 Botella 33 cl XIII cata Ratebeer Asturias en el Kraken 16..10..2017. (r119). Color rubio amarillento transparente con espuma blanca. Sabores suaves herbáceos secos con toques especiados y ligeramente picante al final, pimientas y callen a. Amargo suave final seco. Cuerpo ligero algo aguado y con algo de gas. Original.
2.9 Botella. @XIII Cata Ratebeer Asturias, 16/10/17 Color amarillo dorado, espuma blanca, aromas especiados cereal, sabor herbal, cereal especiada, cuerpo medio.
2.4 tomada en cata ratebeer Asturias XIII. Aguada. suave. No destaca el Agave. Sencilla. Poca cosa.
3.0 Can. Bronze and poured with a medium head. First impression was that it strongly resembled a lager and lime -not my favourite drink. Second impressions was even worse. How can a brewery that has produced some impressive beers brew this drivel? Surprised I gave it a three when its probably worth less. Think its because I have pleasant memories of many of their beers. Aim for the drain.
3.2 Heldere gouden kleur en een goede kraag. Ruikt fruitig, citrus, pilsner. Smaakt bitterzoet, fruitig, limonade.
3.1 Tap @ the brewery. Pours clear straw with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops and yeast, with malty touches. Bitter flavour of hops, with notes of yeast and malt and pronounced touches of citrus. Lingering, rough and acidic aftertaste. Well, more interesting than good but definitely drinkable.
2.5 Can from Tesco. Moderate fizz in quite a soft mouthfeel. Sour lager whiff up front. Taste is better than the smell, with light lemon and lime, a little biscuit and an odd slightly cloying milkiness in the finish (is this the influence of the agave? I have no idea what agave tastes like!). The flavours aren't overdone, and it's certainly more drinkable than other mass-market flavoured lagers I've tried. It's not great, but it's certainly better than I expected.
3.0 (Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 27 July 2017) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of herbs, grass, sugar, bread and flowers. Fruity taste with citrus, herbs, soapy flavours and a mild grassy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and refreshing, but on the sweet side. Quite enjoyable.
1.9 Underwhelming like a caguama of Sol with bad tacos at a fake Mexican restaurant. Pours golden. Agave gives slight character to otherwise boring lager. Bottle.
2.6 Basically drove home my belief that anything with the word "cerveza" on it is really not worth drinking😕
3.2 Bottle. Pours light golden color. Small head. Aroma of lime. Light sweetness. Average carbonation. Taste is lime and plants. It's pretty refreshing.
3.0 refreshing good for summer days
1.8 355 ml can @home,bb 22/02/2018. Pale golden, clear, quickly vanishing thin white head. Somewhat artificial lime zest and corn nose. The same taste. Soft carbonation.
2.1 12 ounce bottle. Aroma was mild. Lime hints. Best part was a good mouthfeel. Reminded me of a Tecate knock off. The question is, Why even brew this beer?
3.6 Glinting, clean, pale gold color with a thin whispy head of white foam. Definite lime zest while not being overbearing on the agave. I was a bit timid to try this one with the agave in it because of the only other beer I ever had with agave unit made me sick. But this was done just right.
1.1 Una de las peores cervezas que he probado en líneas generales. Muy pobre en todos los sentidos valorables.
2.0 slightly opalescent pale yellow colour, moderate sized and quickly collapsing head; aroma and taste of a grainy lager with wet cardboard, metallic and slight lemony notes; not better than a cheap lager
2.8 Dorada clara. Aroma ácido poco agradable. En boca desaparece. Refrescante, punzante de gas. Lima bien presente sin molestar. Objetivo conseguido. Informal y refrescante. Sin más pretensiones.
2.8 Color amarillo, translúcido, con capa de espuma blanca de dos dedos de grosor (no mucha retención). Carbonatación alta. Textura acuosa y algo chispeante. Aroma a lima, limón, ligeramente herbal y especiado.
3.2 Great for hot summer days. Nice sweetness from the agave nectar and a nice finish touch from the lime.
2.4 33 cl bottle at La tienda de la cerveza, Madrid, served in tasting stemmed glass. It pours pale clear golden, whitish short-lived head. Aroma is lemon, lemon drop, lemon soda, lemon fizz. Mouthfeel is fresh, nice carb, no bitterness at all. Long refreshing finish. Simple yet nice in its simplicity.
3.4 Crystal clear light golden color with off-white head. Aroma has clean malt and fruity agave notes. Taste follows with clean malt and light lemony and agave notes. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Quite interesting, easy drinking, aromatic lager.
3.0 Can @ Hampton by Hilton Hotel, Luton Flying Dog - Agave Carveza - Lager beer brewed with agave nectar and with lime zest added. Kolor słomkowy z białą puszystą, średnio i drobno ziarnistą pianą. Aromat mocno lagerowaty, słabiutki, płaski. Czuć nikłe zboża i po ogrzaniu miniumum limonki. W smaku płaskie, słodowe, lekko kukurydziane z minimalną limonką tle. Delikatny goryczkowy finisz. Tekstura wodnista. Słabe, płaskie, a agawy w ogóle nie czuć.
3.8 Clear yellow color, small head wi¡th short retention. good lace. Aroma has some hints of tequilia: cactus, cellar, wood. Then there’s flowers, lemon, white liquor, Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Taste is floral , tequila, caramel, lemon. Good one.
2.4 355ml bottle, as Agave Cerveza, 4.9 % abv. kindly shared by Finn. Filmy white layer leaving spotty lacing down the glass, clear straw coloured body. Lightly spiced fruity nose. Lime, apples and juicy malts to the flavour profile. Oily hops to the ending. Soft carbonated. So and so. (Rating session at Finn’s in Tromsø, 18.05.2017).
2.6 Bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden beer with a medium sized, bright white head on top. Aroma has hints of tequila, stone fruits, lager notes in there as well. Flavor is a bit bland, lots of the agave returning in the flavor palate, also som cardboardy notes in there, probably of the lager yeast. Carbonation is medium high. Not too impressive, not so nice.
