Flying Dog The Truth Imperial IPA

Flying Dog The Truth Imperial IPA

Full Disclosure: This beer came to fruition because we saw a gap in our portfolio and we wanted to increase our market share.

Sometimes the truth hurts. But most often, it’s damn refreshing.

The Truth Imperial IPA--the latest addition to our year-round portfolio-is a hop bomb of some of the most distinct Pacific Northwest hops available today. Its sharp hop bitterness begins with huge pine notes on the nose, which evolve into bright citrus (think grapefruit) and subtle stone fruit flavors.

3.8 Bottle 33 cl, poured into a Jopen glass. Pours a clear copper with a small white head and an aroma of pine, citrus, toffee, ripe fruits, syrup and sweet malts.
3.5 Dark orangey colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have piney hop notes. A little caramelised citrus peel too adding a bitter twist.
3.1 Can into tulip. Dark tan with decent head. Smells like a citrusy DIPA with a combo of tropical hoppy notes and undertones of malt sweetness. Taste is less exciting. No real tropical notes and more muted generic IPA. borderline to become too bitter for me. Some will like that, but I probably won’t get again because of that.
3.2 Pours a hazy deep amber, with about one finger of white head. Decent enough persistence and lacing. Quite simple but nicely bright aroma shows a bit of a sweetish foundation followed by a relatively strong resinous/piney feel and citric notes (most notably grapefruit). Taste follows the aroma closely, with a bit less "brightness" and definition to it. Medium sweetness and medium to high bitterness in the mouth, and a bitter edge in a semi-dry finish and aftertaste. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Goes down easy, super-drinkable for such high abv. Overall enjoyable.
3.7 355ml can. Bought online. Heavy hops sweet smell, nice looking amber/golden color with big head. Taste not as sweet as expected, good almond taste in the middle and fades quickly. Good beer tbh.
3.9 Twelve ounce bottle bought as part of mixed six pack at Hyde Park Remke, tasted on January 3, 2021. Gold/amber color, good bittersweet aroma with prominent grapefruit, big well balanced bittersweet flavor with nice citrus and resin, long pleasing aftertaste. The honest statement on the label bears repeating: "FULL DISCLOSURE: This beer came to fruition because we saw a gap in our portfolio and we wanted to increase our market share." Well, they produced a brew that's much more than a market niche. This is a first class beer.
3.8 Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a pint glass. Hazy pale amber colour, good frothy pinkish head, good retention, good lacing. Aroma pale malt, grain, citrus, caramel, resinous. Taste medium bitter and sweet, malty, grain, caramel, pine resin. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, malty bittersweet aftertaste, orange pith, pine resin, kinda rustic impression, good imperial ipa.
4.7 Simply a perfect imperial West Coast. No showing off just an extraordinary quality of brewing
3.4 Mild hop profile with a sour body for an IPA and a clean yet peppery finish.
4.0 Color taronja. Dit espuma amb bona retenció. Aromes a préssec, pi. Maltosa i afruitada en boca, final amarg. Equilibrada. Clàssic, sempre agradable de repetir
3.5 Bottle from McCaffery’s. Red amber clear with brief head. Some woody aroma. Quite grassy and some dry peach. Solid
4.0 Twelve ounce bottle -I am sure that this will easily be one of the best three IPAs that I will have in 2020, if not the best. A wonderful, luscious taste with a great mouthfeel, nice and full. I could buy a case of this and savor it.
2.4 narucio u Goblet store ...super brza dostava i komunikacija ... nazalost previse zahmeljeno..okusi nisu izbalansirani dovoljno dobro...ne osjeti se alkohol unatoc 8,7% ...gorcina se osjeti ..aftertaste cudan ..ok
3.7 Clear golden pour with an off-white head. The aroma has citrus and pine. It has a full body with lively carbonation. The taste is bitter with noticeable alcohol and a semi-dry finish.
4.0 I would drink this again, good solid ipa. Could have more heft and layers but bitterness is good enough.
4.0 Tap, on nitro. Moderate malt and hop aromas of roasted, caramel, pine and herbs, light dough for the yeast, with some tropical fruit notes in the background. Head is tall, creamy and cascading into the beer, with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is opaque medium amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, creamy, with a soft carbonation with a silky finish. Excellent well balanced DIPA made even better with nitrogen charging.
3.5 Bottle at trailer park tasting. Brilliant light amber color with white foam. Nice floral, spicy dank hoppy aromas. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Same floral spicy dank hoppy flavors with a light toast maltage___good
J'aime bien.
3.7 Medium amber light head. Drank at Mom's house 2019 Christmas week before. Aromas pine, citrus, light pinnapple, slight pina colada. Flavors pine, pineapple, citrus, slight grass. Medium sweet light bitter finish.
4.0 Good tasting beer. Nice hopes light. Good alcohol content.
3.7 Bursztynowa barwa, niemalże klarowne, niezła piana, ładnie krążkuje na szkle. Dość intensywny aromat, sporo białych owoców, nut kwiatowych i odrobina karmelu.
3.3 12 oz bottle. Big cotrus scents. Balanced hops up front with a short bitter finish. Okay.
3.1 Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of pine resin. Taste has nice pine notes, cedar and hoppy resin. Palate has alcohol. Heavy but tasty.
3.4 Deliciosa de gran vuerpo y aroma intenso y persistente. Muy buena espuma permanente. Toques citricos esperados sin excesiva acidez amarhor jusgo. Muy buena.
3.5 12 oz bottle. (Heinrich's) Kornwestheim, Germany. Enjoyed on Jul 18, 2019. Slightly cloudy deep amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet dark fruity hops, mild bitterness and caramel malt in the aroma. Sweet fruity hops, mild bitterness and heavy caramel malty sweetness in the flavor. Sweet and one-dimensional. Probably not the freshest bottle.
