3.2 355ml bottle at home. Clear golden with a medium white soapy head. Light to medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Nice bitterness with some sweet tones. Grass, citrus, malts, hops an hay. A nice refreshing lager.
3.1 Bottle @ home. Aroma is fruity yeasty esters, some malt, hint of caramel. Some fruity hops. Flavour is malty at first, then light bitter fruity hops. A bit boring.
3.1 Clear yellow body with a medium but diminishing white head. Aroma is malt, yeast, some spice. Sweet taste, mild bitterness. Long finish.
2.9 12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained white head head, with slight lacing, over a clear, yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is light malts, hints of cereal, no esters, light herbal hops.....taste is light malts, no esters, leading to a moderate hop bitterness, hops slightly ahead.....mouth feel, light of medium body, light acid, moderate carbonation. This meets the insipid style quite nicely with light malts, hops, no esters, reasonable balance, making for a crisp, refreshing, but uninteresting beer. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7
3.7 Pours golden with a sticky white head. Soft wheat taste up front but without the usual metallic taste that lagers have. A lingering slight hop taste long after swallowing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
1.3 Can. Corn, cereal. Empty, corn syrup mouthfeel. Carbonated, not hoppy. I dunno... I suspect the can and travel got ahold of this one.
2.8 33cl bottle. Pours clear golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet malts and bread with light fruitiness. Light lager taste, light final bitterness without any particular flavor from the hops. Light body, light carbonation. Average.
2.9 Bottle. Light clear golden with small white head. Light malts, grassy with nice herbal touch. Hint of citrus. Like a less bitter German lager with a slight fresh citrus tart touch. I wish all cheap lagers were as good as this.
3.7 12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 7/12/2013. Moderate gusher upon opening. Pours lightly hazy deep golden color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, slight pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly clean on lager flavors with only some light yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a nice pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
3.1 "One o those firmly in the "good for the style" category. Crisp and clean with both slight floral hopping, cereal, and malty sweetness. A little toast in the slightly bitter finish."
3.4 (Flying Dog UnderDog Atlantic Lager) Bottle 355 ml at home, poured into a glass tankard, ABV 4.7% Pale golden yellow colour on the body, crystal clear, with a small and thin white head on top, okay retention, light lacing left on the glass. Nice hoppy aroma though, fresh grass, some grains. Taste is nothing special or extreme but a hundred times better than the average lager. Hops are present, some cheesy notes, grass. Medium thin body, good carbonation, not too low - not too high. Not bad at all.
3.3 Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a note of sharp grass with underlying sweet grains and a hint of biscuit. Flavor has sweet grains and biscuit with a growing grassy backbone.
3.7 Bottle 0,33 l. Really good lager. It is more like APLager. Nice citrus, pine aroma. Citrus notes in flavor also with some caramel. Positive suprise.
2.8 White head, light colour. A floral taste with some hops and fruits. A very pleasant and easy beer to drink if you enjoy a lighter taste.
3.5 33cl bottle at provart 2014, sertã, portugal. Hazy dark gold color. Thin persistent head. Medium body. Herbs, piny, hop aroma.
3.2 355ml bottle from Appellation Wines, cheers Ash! Pours clear pale gold, thick white head. Aromas of grassy, light lemon hops. Taste is light sweet, touch of malt, more light lemon, and maybe a hint of more tropical US hops? Just a hint though. Quite a light body, crisp finish. Decent.
3.8 Pours quite hazy blond with a white head. The aroma bring sweet crispy pale malts. The flavor brings a nice balance of crisp later barely sweet malt yeast and then bitter light hops on the backend.
2.9 355 ml bottle from K-supermarket at Kamppi, Helsinki (€ 3,69) in August 2014. Pours a clear pale staw colour with a modest white head that retains rather well and leaves some considerable lacing. Nose is sweet: ripe citrus fruits and malts, grassy, more honey notes as it warms, also a bit sourish and yeasty. Taste is malts and pickled fruits (apples, apricots), grassy. Thinnish body, even a bit watery; above average carbonation, mild and brief grassy hop finish, dry. Overall a good, light, easygoing and non-pretentious lager with high drinkability - good for a hot summer day. Oh, and a huge WTF at the label.
2.4 The aroma is malty, papery, and slightly hoppy with the ever present flying dog oddness. The appearance is amber gold with a medium head. The taste is bitter and malty and two note. The palate is thin. Overall I am glad to have another first flying dog in an over 8 years stretch and they are always a bit odd which works out sometimes but this one did not work for me.
2.9 330ml bottle from The West End Tap, Lincoln. Golden-yellow colour, with thin white head, and some lacing. Aroma has grass, and the flavour has pale malts and grass. Nice lager.
3.0 Bottle, 355ml. Clear, transparent golden color with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma is of malt, grain, floral hobs, pines, grassy, some citrus and grapefruits. Flavour is with a floral hobs on semi bitter finish. Some grainy, grassy malt sweetness at first. Crisp. Perhaps a bit metallic as it warms. Light-medium bodied and average+ carbonated. Very drinkable, albeit not really something that amazed me. Still pretty good value for money.
3.3 nice golden-yellow opaque colour, decent head that vanishes quite fast, dry and a great thirst extinguisher, leaves a grapefruit feeling, bittery taste
3.6 Looks great, crystal clear wheat. Aroma is sweet orange and grapefruit and sweet malt. Taste is crisp, sweet, nutty, yet citrusy hoppy. Tad too light on the palate for my liking.
2.9 Bottle: Translucent yellow pour, bubbly, with a frothy white head. Mild aroma of malt and grain, lightly grassy. Taste is similar to the nose, as expected. Some metallic bits, but the malt and grain makes it doable.
3.3 Bottle 355ml, a golden beer with good head. Nose is resinous and pine like. Aroma is on dry hops, grassy notes, peppery, good bitterness, slightly toasted, aftertaste is dry with intense grass notes, pleasant.
2.9 Hazy straw color; Light to medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, floral hops, & some citrus notes; Flavor of slight sweet malt, some hops, and grain: Smooth but a little bland.
