2.8 Very simple mild beer. Easy light summer drinking but nothing really unique or special.
2.9 Easy drinking summer beer. Had a single bottle, not a bad little summer beer would buy again
3.1 Can. Decent overall beer. Average carbonation. Average hop and malt flavor. Clean finish. No outstanding qualities, but no off flavors either.
3.2 Bottle: It poured a golden color with a thin white head. The aroma was grainy with some spicy hops. The taste had some light fruit in it. It was enjoyable to drink.
2.4 I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours golden with a small white head. The aroma was grainy. The taste was crisp, bready, and some honey sweetness. It was good cold as a summer beer. As it warmed up, it wasn’t as enjoyable.
2.9 For an ale very flavorful. Hay yellow color. Thick on the tongue. Small bitters and light hops. Also has an ending of granny smith apple peel. Tap
2.6 On tap at MusselBar. Okay. A bit bland really. Watery nose and weak forgetful taste. Happy trails.
2.9 Flying Fish Farmhouse Summer Ale is ok but nothing to rave about. Slight lemony aroma coming from a bright yellow pour. Head fizzes a bit on the pour but quickly dissipates to nothing. Taste is a little funky and somewhat lemony making it refreshing but kind of thin. Farmhouse Summer Ale seems to have some execution problems -- could definitely be better.
3.1 Undated 12oz bottle; sample courtesy of Perry County Beer. Pours yellow gold, very small head that dissipates into a ring. Tulip glass gives an earthy, grassy, lightly spiced, Belgium-y aroma. The body is light and refreshing. The bitter chewy wheat fore-taste quickly balances with obviously dry Belgium yeast aftertaste. The taste is certainly muted for it’s 4.6abv, but that’s the charm to this very drinkable summery outdoorsy light farmhouse ale.
3.5 Draft. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma has light fruit, white pepper, straw. Taste is lightly spiced straw, dry finish. Interesting.
3.4 Pours pale yellow with a one finger white head with pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of cercel malts, grassy hops, sweet malts, pils malts, and some fruits. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium light body with a semi watery mouthfeel and a mostly sweet, medium-short finish. Overall, a decent blonde ale that would be nice on a hot summer day.
2.6 "Light cereal and flowery hops are the main players with an ever so slight bit of funk tartness and Belgian spice thrown in the mix. Some fruity pear and dust as well. meh. Lighter than I prefer, but it is a summer seasonal after all."
3.4 Bright golden with slight white head. Subtle aroma, light yeasty, fruity, malty. Lemony. Grassy. Light malty. Very light pepperiness. Light dryness. Bigger light body. Pleasant warm weather beer. Good companion with food.
2.7 Pours a very pale, clear light yellow. Earthy aroma. Earthy malt flavor that ends a little bitter, like dirt. Interesting, light summer beer, but I won’t be drinking this again.
2.9 From a 12 oz bottle shared at the Beer Heads bottle share in Falls Church. Pours a clear light gold with an off white head. Light citrus nose. Flavors of lemon. Light bodied. Clean finish.
3.3 Las Vegas, NV - Total Wine - Summerlin - 12 oz bottle. Hazy light golden pour, soft, snow white head. Aroma of coriander, cloves and bubble gum. Flavor brings out some coriander spiciness bubble gum sweetness and some Belgian candii sugar notes. Crisp mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
2.0 Very clear and light color to go with the weak taste. Where is the wheat? No typical spice, light taste, and no cloudiness. That extra pale malt makes it an extra pale ale. Only the hops seems to have save the aroma and at least a little bittering. But that doesn’t go with the style at all. Not a complete waste, just a very confused brew.
2.7 Draft. Clear yellow gold. Pretty bad, zero farmhouse character. Basically a light pils/lager with some lemon and hay and a clean finish Nothing special or unique. I wouldn't get this again
2.7 A pretty mediocre beer. Tastes more like a light lager than anything. Watery, a hint of lemon.
3.5 Bottle from Save On. Clear golden with small head and chill haze. Noble hop and crackery sweet malt aroma. Mild fruity peach mango sweetness with woody earthy spicy hop bitterness clean dry finish. Light body. Refreshing. Good.
2.6 On tap at Philadelphia Airport. A very unexciting light lager. Pales traw in colour with a tight white head and a high level of carbonation; grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste with a trace of citrus; and a sweet finish with some damp cardboard in place of hops.
2.2 Not sure where the farmhouse idea comes into this. Pretty much just a blonde lagery beer. Tap.
3.2 At Dubb Linh Square from tap. Copper color with decent head. Light and malty. Easy to drink, not particularly complex.
3.2 Pours clear golden into the glass, with a minimal head that leaves nothing but carbonation. The nose is of grass, hay, light dank notes. Flavors have lemon, some wheat, grassiness, a hint of corn or so. The mouthfeel is seltzery and overactive with carbonation; however, if one is looking for a good lawnmower brew, this light-bodied offering is certainly better than the macro offerings found in one’s local grocer.
1.9 Poured from bottle with BB 9-22-14 into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a light golden color with a tiny white foam head. The head fades superfast leaving only a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is quite light overall with some smells of wheat and biscuit along with some lighter smells of a fruit sweetness which are mainly of a pear and lemon aroma. Along with these smells comes a very light grassy smell as well. Taste – The taste begins with a biscuit taste and light fruit flavor of peach and pear. The peach and pear fruit flavors are later lost, being replaced by some other sweet flavors of a caramel and light candied sugar nature. Along with the transition in the sweet, there is also a transition in the malt with more wheat flavors and a cracker flavor coming to the tongue at the expense of the biscuit. With a light grassy and lemon flavor that comes to the tongue at the end of the taste, it leaves one with a muddled malty and sweet flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – For the low abv. of the brew, the body is average in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather low. The moderate thickness is fairly decent for the mix of malt, sweet, and light grass flavors of the brew, but the lower carbonation is not really appropriate for the brew, taking away the crispness and refreshing character that the beer should have. Overall – Ah… A very lack luster beer. Nothing was all that great.. A rather weak look and very little aroma with the flavors never really find a balance and the body was a bit off for me. Not one I will likely do again.
2.9 Pours a pale straw color with a finger and half white head. Not much smell but clean wheat. Tastes like wheat with a hint of lemon. Watery. Pretty good for hot days but it's a average but better than the macro beers kind of beer.
2.8 Bottle. Pale yellow, low head. Straw, paper, light lemongrass aroma. Medium light sparkly body. Straw malt, nice aromatic citric hops. Dry, light mealy mouthfeel. Ok summer beer.
3.4 Clear gold with an average sized white head. Aroma of light hops, grain some yeast. The flavor is lightly sweet with some light hop bitterness. Sessionable blond ale. I didn’t get any sourness so I don’t know what the farm house is about.
2.7 Nice lawnmower beer---however, it had a very distinctive "watery" aftertaste. I would’ve rated it much higher if this aftertaste / late palate didn’t follow. Clean in appearance. Nice blonde color.
3.2 On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford. Appearance: MIldly hazy golden body with a firm white head. Aroma: The aroma is very clean and mild with a hint of malt sweetness and a hint of lemon, nothing else of note. Not offensive, but not tantalizing. Taste: The flavor is crisp and clean, lager-esque, which is nice to see an ale with those qualities. The flavor has a mild malty sweetness and a hint of lemon and peppery spice, but overall very clean and mild. It doesn’t impress but it is drinkable. Palate: Light and crisp with high carbonation. Overall: This is barely a step above a mass lager in all honesty. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s definitely not a "farmhouse ale" as they call it. This is a crisp and enjoyable beer available at a decent price. Nothing more, nothing less.
