2.2A light-bodied, clear golder lager. Little aroma. Slightly sour, dry, and like a weak lemon lime soda gone flat. Slightly medicinal taste. Despite these obvious flaws, not altogether repelling, and it settles into a subpar but mildly refreshing lager.
2.9Clear, yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is mostly straw with some cereal grain. It has a light body with somewhat watery texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a quick, clean finish.
2.7Bottle pours a pale yellow:gold with a medium white head. Aroma of earthy oaty barley malt, like oat meal and honey. Light and sweet malt, faint hop and alcohol. Nice aroma!
4.0Flying Horse Royal Lager Beer has a thin, white head, a clear, bubbly, yellow-straw appearance, and little-to-no lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet biscuit and soda cracker (non salted), and the flavor is of the same, with a mild, grassy hop note. Mouthfeel is light, and Flying Horse Royal Lager Beer finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing.
2.4650ml bottle shared between myself, my wife and son-in-law on 7th May 2015 along with two other Indian lagers at some random Indian restaurant in Laguna Hills, Orange County. Bright golden pour with a white topping. Almost odourless and tasteless. Slight malty/corn sweetness in the flavour but not a lot going on really. Went well with my Chicken Vindaloo, but I will not be seeking this out again.
2.4Bottle - good size foamy head, dark gold color, pretty generic lager malty aroma and flavor, slightly on the better side probably
2.6From a 22 oz bottle at an Indian restaurant. Pours a clear gold with a thick off white head. Bready nose. Sweet grain flavors. Crisp finish.
2.8Poured from a bottle it is a clear pale golden color with a slight head. The aroma is malty and the taste is thin with some hint of corn it helps ease the spicy Indian food. I am thankful
2.6crisp clean and refreshing not much depth of flavor but i wasn’t expecting anything special just an ice cold beer to go w Indian take out. all worked out deliciously.
1.8"another crappy indian lager, although not as bad as a few of em. some cheap corn flavored malty taste, little aroma, which at least isn’t offensive, but no redeeming qualities."
1.8Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond.Clear pale gold with white head. DMS and catty aroma, sweetish, a little buttery, then papery taste. Light body with a papery aftertaste.
1.9Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Pours pale yellow with a small head, aroma is sweet with malt, corn, flavor is slightly bitter, not very offensive, light bodied.
2.0@ Party Town / Florence KY --- "...And when you’re sure the occasion deserves it, serve Flying Horse Royal Lager Beer." Nice hype, but the beer doesn’t earn it. Clear medium amber with a nice white head that lasts 30 seconds or less, then shrinks to the rim; no lace. Taste is similar to the other India beers I’ve had: some sweet malt, maybe an adjunct, then a flat move to a carbonated finish. Of course, it is drinkable. It just isn’t interesting.
1.6Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear yellow golden color. Aroma and taste of pale malt, corn, straw and cardboard. Light-bodied. Just another boring pale lager.
1.6Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks beerandbeyond. Yellowish pale golden. Corny DMS and cardboard aroma with a tiny diacetyl note. Sweetish corny flavor, kinda papery. Light-bodied.
1.9Bomber poured a clear yellow hue w/ huge fizzy white head and no lacing. Mild hay aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are straw, bread, and vodka. Light bodied, excessively lively carbonation, and a light metallic finish.
2.6Pours pale yellow with a short lived white head. Grass, grain, floral, malt and light hop aroma. Grass, grain, floral, malt and light hop flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Slight bitterness and a moderately dry grassy finish.
2.1Pour from a 22oz bottle. Pale yellow brew with white head that quickly fades. Aroma of biscuit and metal. Taste is weakly sweet malt at the start with a little sour funk and then a dry ending - just water at the end.
2.422oz bottle pours a pale straw color with a bit of head. Crisp but lacking any real flavor.
2.0Split of a bomber of this at an uptown Indian restaurant. Biscuits and water were the prominent flavors
1.8Clear straw color; Light body; Aroma and flavor of slight sweet malt, cereal/corn, and some grain; Fairly bland and slightly metallic; Nothing offensive but not great.
1.522floz/650ml bottle into a Samuel Adams glass; served cold.
Aroma: Some mild malt and a little bit of sweetness.
Appearance: Clear, bright yellow body with a fizzy and dissipating white head.
Taste: Bready malt. Pretty mild, but on the plus side it doesn’t taste corny at all.
Palate: Light body, not watery. Short finish. Ends on mild malt.
Overall: Decent lager, but not something I’d seek out again. It’s nothing extraordinary.
1.8Not really that bad as lagers go, but still fairly low on flavour. Very pale colour, moderately fizzy.
1.5Pale, thin yellow pour to pint glass. Not offensive or bad, but pretty bland taste.
2.8Pale Yellow, Decent Head, Last Short Time, minimal Traces of Lacing. Grainy Aroma. Grainy, Corn, Light Bitter Finish. Drinkable, although nothing special or outstanding. One was enough for me, I do not want to find out how many it takes to see flying horses... Pass It...
2.0Bottle. Pale yellow with a white head. Aromas of malt, cardboard and yeast. A little bit of hops but otherwise a very bland beer.
1.1The aroma isn’t very pleasant with the combination of skunkiness, the sour bread yeast, and sweet dough malts, and the appearance is clear yellow with a very minimal head. The taste is quite sour and a touch sweet, and the palate combines a soft carbonation, medium body, thin texture, and an abrupt finish.
2.2Bomber. Foamy medium-large head, clear, pale yellow. Kind of gnarly rough aroma, cheap. Taste isn’t terrible, drinkable with food (indian). Palate is light for the style, a little oily/creamy. Meh...
3.8Alright beer. Not a huge fan but id get it again. I wonder if they have a 12 oz. version
2.0Pale yellow, small white head and no lace. Aromas of toasted grain, taste is toasted grain with a minimal hops nip and a wisp of smokiness. Fairly decent.
