3.4Grabbed in a pick-your-own mixpack at Publix during recent Myrtle Beach visit. Not as hoppy as expected, based on the 78 IBU printed on the label. Leans toward the sweet side...balance could be better. Has potential, but not quite living up to it’s name.
3.43 month old bottle > Shaker.
A: Poured to a short, quickly falling head atop dirty orange body.
S: Light citrus and pine scent with faint sour cherry and caramel.
T: Very bitter with citrus and pith. Heavy grapefruit and pine. Light toasted bread and caramel sweetness. Nice balance.
M: Medium body with low carbonation. Tastes resinous but feels clean going down. Refreshing and drinkable.
O: A N.C. IPA mainstay. Very good overall and widely available at a nice price.
3.6Tap at Darryl’, Greensboro. Colour is slightly cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, citrus, hops and malts. Pretty nice.
3.7Nice old-school West Coast IPA, less concerned with citric niceties than with brutal bitterness. Caramel-grainy malts hint at a lingering sweet side but quickly give up the IBU fight, leading to a resinous, clingy fade. Tasty.
3.7Draft at Mellow Mushroom Chattanooga with Annette and Kirk. Fairly classic non-west coast IPA. Moderate bitterness with it meting over the top. Great malt balance. Easy drinking and enjoyable IPA.
2.5Pours a deep, cloudy orange almost brass wiith a thin white head. It’s more malt than hops in aroma that ends with taste. It has a medium to heavy hops with light sweetness. The body is light to medium with somewhat sticky. The bitterness hangs around after you’ve taken a sip and almost gives you a dry mouth feel. Odd IPA and not for a good reason.
2.9Twelve ounce bottle from mixed 6 pack bought at Village Market (Harris Teeter’s yuppie division), Johns Island, South Carolina, tasted on July 19, 2016. Hazy orange/yellow color, moderate aroma of citrus, resin and hops in decreasing order of intensity, unbalanced flavor that favors the resin with the hops even less prevalent than in the nose. Hard to believe this is 78 IBU. The name is spectacularly inaccurate.
3.4Bottle, thanks to Misterburd. Pours cloudy golden yellow with small foamy off-white head, orange peel aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter citrusy taste, thin body, medium hoppy finish. Refreshing, and mellow.
3.6On tap at Mellow Mushroom Pizza, Atlanta. Hazy orange amber with a small tan head that fades slowly and leaves lots of tight lace. Nose is pine and citrus, with grapefruit dominant, along with a light caramel backing. Big pine bitterness throughout. Mouth is medium- with average carbonation.

3.6Draft. Pours clear bright amber with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like grapefruit hops, resin, pine, orange, and caramel malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like grapefruit hops, resin, pine, orange, a d caramel malt.
3.5Tap. Pours clear amber. Aroma is pale and toasted malts, faint caramel, with some floral and grassy hop notes. Flavor is crisp hop bitterness throughout with soft citrus, a dry malt base, and some light woody character. Medium body.
3.5Bottle from Chevy Chase Wine and Liquor. Hazy amber body with medium, lasting head. Nose is hoppy, pine and citrus. Very inviting. Taste is hops, some caramel, orange rhinds and pine. Nice and creamy texture - with a very warming finish.
3.7Bottle enjoyed in OBX 2016 vacation. Orange pour, white fluffy head. Caramel malts with some orange zest on the nose and tongue. Centennial hops are notable with a floral presence, also some pine and zip. Sweet but well balanced. I would have thought this was imperial. Pretty good.
3.6Sweet citrus and tropical fruits, orange, passion fruit, pine. Hazy gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light sweet. More juicy tropical fruits, sweet papaya and mango, passion fruit, immense bitterness emerging, grass, some floral hops, pine, lively carbonation, medium bodied. Very nice IPA, what a surprise find in an airline lounge! Bottle at Admiral’s Club, Charlotte, NC.
4.0Smell of hop, nut, banana. Drink from bottle, art on sticker looks cheap but it tastes better than its look. Taste of hop, sweet, bitter and fragrant. Pretty good overall.
3.9On tap at Rooster’s Sourthern Kitchen. Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Oily mouthfeel. Flavor starts out fresh citrus grapefruit with tropical fruit and a grapefruit zest and pine resin finish.
3.2Bottle share. Pours orange and topped with a modest sandy head. Aroma is hoppy, floral and pine. Lightly sweet. Taste is modest with bitters and a little overly malty sweet.
3.312oz bottle from ??? at bottle share. Golden pour with a short tight head. Aroma greets you with flowery, piney hoppiness. Hops continue on in the taste, more dominant than the malt backbone hiding in the background. Pretty well balanced brew..
3.512oz bottle pours out golden topped with a small head. Nose is pine floral hops and some bread. Taste is more of pine floral hops a nice bread malt.
3.4Pours an bronze-orange with white head. A fruit malt and floral hop aroma. A strong fruit malt, citrus hop, caramel, grains and spices. A dry malt and bitter hop aftertaste.
3.812 ounce bottle into tulip glass, unreadable bottle code on the neck. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange rind, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/sticky/resinous balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Probably over 6 months old judging by the protein cloudiness, but was still very enjoyable.
1.9I think maybe this beer was spoiled, only had 1 bottle so I’m not sure. Upon uncapping this 12 oz. beer, it began foaming out despite no agitation. The color was diminished by a presence of a chunky population. Will have to try this another time.
3.612oz bottle from ck1, thanks bro! Pours a copper color with white lace, great cling. Big grassy fruit nose. Some citrus. Taste is big pine. Fruit, citrus, light caramel. Well carbonated. Finishes sweeter than bittersweet. Tasty and solid. 13.7
3.3Tap. Clear bright straw, white head. Citrus, some slight pine, fairly bright on the more grapefruit end of the hop spectrum. Leaner malt backing. Old school, and not horrible. Just not great.
3.4Pour is a hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is of pine hops with a large English malt presence. Flavor is sweet at first but not overly so. The next thing you notice is the English malt. I’m thinking maris otter or golden promise. Hops take a back seat but are there to give some pine fresh flavor. Even though this has all American hops this is way more English IPA with the heavy malt base.
3.412 oz bottle. Amber color with a decent off-white head. Aroma is of caramel, toffee, malt, toast, oranges, pine, herbs. Taste is of pine, herbal notes, oranges, caramel, and toast.
3.4Bottle. The look is clear, off white head, copper in color. The smell is hops, caramel, hops, pine. Resiney. The taste is similar, bitter, grassy, resin. Ok. Good old school but does not keep up.
3.4Drank this when in NC. Tall boy cans. Super earthy dank hops with clean dry finish. All the right hop profiles shining through. Good one.
4.1Poured from bottle. Tasty IPA. Good carbonation. Nice balance. Good head, good lacing
3.7Tap. Pours an unusual light brown with a ring of beige head. Aroma and taste of floral hops, some spice, pine, citrus.
