Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

4.3Bottle from Purvis Richmond at friend Brian’s place. Pours deep orange small white head. Aroma is pine resin, guava, burnt orange and some dank forest floor. Flavour is massive sweet malt with plenty of pine resin and burnt orange peel. Taste is quite sweet considering the huge hop bitterness. Palate is very silky and full. Overall it is really more a hoppy barley wine. Very nice but really a sipper, not something you could drink much of.
3.6Bottle at home, aged for about a year. Clear dark amber color. Medium size, dark yellow bubbly head. Big tropical fruity hop aromas, caramel, some booze evident. Similar taste with a lot of punch. Resinous finish.
3.8Not sure what defines the line between a triple IPA and a hyper-hopped barleywine, because I’d easily classify Devil Dancer as the latter in a blind tasting. That being said, it’s still a pretty delicious beer, big and malty as hell, thick streams of caramel and dark fruits backed up by a vicious citric/pine hop attack. Clingy, resinous finish retains the initial sweetness, but never grows cloy. Citrus pine nose doesn’t hint at the massive malt presence, and the pour comes out a dark red-brown with a modest head and tons o’ lace. Not hot despite the ABV. Good brew.
4.2Hazy amber. Moderate off-white head. Big malty nose. Melon, honey. Tropical fruit are also well detectable. Nuts. Full body. Medium dry taste. Melon, honey, nuts. Medium citrusy bitterness. Delicious.

3.617/20 bit of a blockbuster. Huge taste, huge alcohol hit, big complexity. Also huge bitterness but that's masked by the big initial taste. A bit of a monster but bloody good. 12% abv
3.9Hazy, dark red amber. Light beige froth. Strong pine and caramel aroma. Some grapefruit too. Sweet flavour, caramel and piney bitterness. Warming alcohol. Good - and very nice with cheese by the way...
3.7Hazy, red brown beer with mediun light beige head. Aroma is very strong with malts, caramel and wood. Taste has malts, grape, wood and alcohol. Strong citrus bitterness, which still stays in balance. Full body. Nice, quite special.
3.7Bought from 啤酒阿姨 in Shanghai. Drank w Matt at home. Pours a ruby red-brown with a medium sudsy off-white head. Smells of flat sweet crystal malt; lots of fig, plum and candied fruit; thick and sharp and a bit spicy; toasty slightly nutty bread; booze; dry peppery resin. Taste is heavy herbal resin bitterness; sharp and sweet; boozy; dry finish. Body is quite thick, a bit sharp, moderately bitter. One year old bottle that tastes and smells musty. Lots of malt, resin and booze but a little sharp and thick and unbalanced.
3.7Bottle from 啤酒阿姨 in Shanghai at home in HK. Dark copper amber pour with dense persistent white head. Aroma is candied dark fruit, oily resin, nutty malt. Not so fresh unfortunately but still interesting. Slightly barleywine-ish. Taste is similar to other giant IPAs, which aren’t usually my favorite. Huge boozy bitter bite, dark fruit, heavy sweet bready malt in the background. Palate definitely heavy but not too syrupy. Lasting tingly bitter boozy burn. Good but wouldn’t get again.
3.9Cloudy copper pour with a small off white head. Loads of pine, citrus, pineapple... all cranked up to an intense level. Thick, chewy caramel malts. Massive lingering bitter finish... a bit too bitter for my tastes to be honest.
4.2Bottle at home. Deep amber with a white head. Strongly hopped. Lots of sweet caramel malt. Lasting bitter sweet finish. Robust. Lovely.
3.9Perfectly balanced heavy malty character (mainly based on caramel) with strong hoppy profile. Highly drinkable, ABV is perfectly hidden. Hoppy aroma are moderately piney and citrus (oranges). In overall very chewy, oily, sweet and hoppy bastard. Very good brew.
3.8Bottle at home (bb 10 May 2017). Pours hazy amber with almost no head. Aroma of sweet bready malts, piney resiny hops. Taste is heavy bitter, over moderate sweet, harsh resiny bitter and sweet malty aftertaste. Very nice, would love to try this fresh.
3.5on tap dark amber color white head taste is grapefruit, caramel, hops, resin, pine. Bitter finish.
3.5On tap @El coleccionista , Gijón 23/01/2017. Color amarillo oscuro, sabor maltoso caramelo, resinoso, amargo.
4.2Got this sampler bottle some time back and well it got pushed back and forgotten. Today I was going through my beer fridge and found it. Being 12% it should still be good after sitting for 8 months. Amber with small head that lingers. At first smell it was pine but then more citrus followed by fruit and many other aromas. Taste was a blast of hops followed by the alcohol. Really tried to pick out the malt but it was just too hidden. Seriously interesting IPA and this summer hope to get more than just one and have it while it is summer. Might be even better only a month or two old rather than eight.
3.6Keg @El Coleccionista, Gijón. 15-01-2017.
In short: rough bitter ale.
Pours quite hazy amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, good lacing. Ripe fruit, caramel, roasty nose. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is quite bitter, still some alcohol sweetness. Quite robust, a bit excesive and palate saturating.
4.1Bottle. Amber color, creamy foam. Rich aroma: sweet white port, raisins, candied fruit, honey nectar, fruity hops, floral, raisins. Taste: grapes, raisins, white port wine, fruit, malt, good hop bitterness.
3.7Bottle from Alko. Dark amber color, white head. Bitter taste with grapefruit, caramel, hops, resin, pine, a bit of mango and grass. Bitter finish with grapefruit, caramel, hops, resin and pine. Very nice brew, but a bit too over the top for me.
4.0Btl pours a slightly hazy amber color with a huge tight tan colored head that hangs on for awhile leaving lots of lace on glass. Aromas of malt, alcohol and fruitcake, holiday cookies, earth and hop resin. Tastes of sweet caramel/ toffee a hint of orange/ lemon, malt, and a hint of alcohol. Huge body, excellent carbonation, soft smooth mouthfeel and a mildly bitter, alcohol finish. There is alot going on with this beer, way too many flavors to describe. I would call this a winter warmer except the date on btl is from summer. This is a BIG beer! Absolutely a fantastic beer! If I had one more I might dance with the devil.
3.6Ampolla al olut. Quina bomba! Es doble alcohol i doble llupul, quina exageració.
3.8Bottle from beautiful beers I think. Clear red to copper color. Thin persistent beige head. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter. Aroma and flavour is orange, hops, resin, pine, mango, meat, spices, pepper. A bit hardcore, but still, cool stuff.
3.9Bottle from Total Wine & More, St. Petersburg. Amber, clear, with a little bit of carbonation. Smell is... fuck me. Caramel, toast, massive resin. And booze, booze, booze. Taste is much more balanced, less boozy. There’s the hop bitterness of course but it’s overlaid by a thick malty sweetness. The alcohol hits again in the finish, resplendent with bitter hop oils. Cherry and pine in the aftertaste. This is intense and frightening. I’m ignoring the inevitable balance issues and giving this a full on yes.
3.1355ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
Wooof! That’s a hot aroma. Big bitter hop component, pine needles super concentrated. Sweet slick palate, but resinily bitter hops too. Tons of sweet caramel, toffee, in the taste, a ton of resins. Finish leaves me with alcoholic vapours, and monstrously bold bittering hops. Not actually bad, but not particularly drinkable either. I’d rather be brainfucked by a 9% lithuanian lager - one PET bottle will do, than this. However, I can fight my way to the bottom of the bottle. Hot stuff!
3.3330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Clear dark amber color. Medium size, dark yellow bubbly head, stays. Sweet, caramel, tropical fruits, grapefruit and citrus in aroma. Sweet, tropical fruits, caramel, spicy in taste. Citrus and sweet tropical fruits in aftertaste. Alcohol is kind of hidden. Hidden behind that caramel and sweetness perhaps? Solid brew.
3.112 fl. oz, bottled. Pours cloudy red with a minimal white head. Aroma: Hops, grains, malt. Taste: Medium+ sweet. some notable bitterness. Palate: Medium body, oily feel. Average carbonation. Not bad.
4.1355ml bottle, bottled 02 May 16. Slighty hazy red amber with small yellowish head. Big tropical fruity hop aromas, caramel, some booze evident. The taste is certainly not subtle - a sledgehammer of grapefruit, pine, pineapple, apricot hoppiness, huge caramel and toasted bread maltiness, heady alcohol, long grassy bitterness. Fairly full bodied, relatively moderate carbonation. A titan of a beer in just about every way, but masterfully balanced. Simply fantastic.
3.912oz bottle - pours a slightly murky amber orangey color with a med off white head. Massive aroma of fruit (mango, peach, melon, pineapple and grapefruit) and sweet caramel. Flavors of intense malt and gigantic hops meld to make this monster. A little boozy with a long bittersweet aftertaste. Whoa
