Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

1.8Hazy red pour with a fizzy head. Aroma of cough syrup with a cough syrup taste. Medium body with a filling finish. Not my keg of beer.
3.0Pours a reddish-orange with a small amount of fizzy head. Aroma of citrus. Taste is tart and fruity with no bitterness at all, but just a bit of a tart/sour counter to the sweetness.
3.2129 THB / can
4.1Part of the LCBO Summer 2019 Beer Program, nice and rich raspberry beer, just like Founders can do them. Taken in the evening, while catching up on daily TV recordings.
3.612oz can from BeerHawk, enjoyed in a shaker on 1st May 2020. Hazy red ale with a medium sized pinkish head. Aroma of berries, barley and some funky yeast. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of sweet malt, wheat and a ton of raspberries. Sweet more than tart. Refreshing and fruity.

4.3Canned December 28th 2019.
It pours a clear raspberry red(ha!) with an impressive head of white, with some hints of pink, foam. Lacing is good.
The smell is like raspberry puree with some notes of wheat, that brings both the sweet and the tart. Ahh..
The taste almost lives up to the smell. Sweet and tart thing going on almost equal in proportions; sweet wins out by a slim margin.
Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
So darned drinkable for me. Ya gotta love the raspberries to enjoy this one and I do.
3.8Dit bier is zeer aromatisch. Mooie, volle geur van echte frambozen en een vleugje hop. Mondgevoel is prettig melkachtig. Smaak is fris, oprecht en vol.
2.7Can at Fox and Hound (Richardson). Poured a pink with a white head and decent head retention. Tasted notes of raspberry with a sweet pale malt finish. Overall, flavorful, especially for raspberry lovers.
3.9Pinkish beer with a decent white head and a sharp raspberry smell. Flavour has is tart raspberry too but not overwhelming or sour, it's a pretty soft (but not weak) flavour with a little floral hop through it. Not a lot else going on but it's so crisp and clean with a pure, bittersweet raspberry flavour I really like it.
3.3Can from Gedeelde Vreugde - many thanks, Anke! Canned: 11/2018. Pours clear red with an unstable, slowly thinning, pinkish head. Aroma of redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, lemon, wheat, red yoghurt. Taste is medium fruity sweet & sour, lots of raspberry, hinting at strawberry, lemony touch, yoghurty malt, with some bitter fruit peel & seeds for balance. Dryish, tart, fruity finish, sweetish, not so fresh anymore. Medium body, slick-sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Past its prime but not Founders' best anyway.
3.8Pours a pinkish color. Nose is all raspberries. Strong raspberry aroma and a pleasant combination of sweet and tart.
4.0Where: On tap at Hopportunities in Delray
With: J, A, M and B
Color: Ruby red
Head: big, off white, light pink
Aroma: Raspberry
Taste: Sweet raspberries with creme. Just like a raspberry creamsicle.
Overall: 4/5
3.0Can at a Brother-in-Laws, 26th Oct 2019. Ruby red body, pink lid. Raspberries rule the nose and taste, semi-tart, semi-sweet, semi-interesting.
3.6330ml chalice from tap. Enjoyed @BeerTemple – Amsterdam. Pours a cloudy dark pinkish color forming a small pink bubbled head with low retention and only few spotty lacings formed and left in the glass. Sweet and fruity nose. Strong notes of sweet pale malts and raspberries. Slightly sweet upfront taste. Again, strong notes of sweet pale malts and raspberry. Slightly metallic and earthy. Ibn overall, too sweet. Light body. Medium carbonation. Raspberry aftertaste. Average fruit beer. A bit too sweet.
3.0Aromas- Sweet of raspberries, notes of light pink fruity wine and sweet cider. Notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and aronia with touch of apple.
Appearance- Clear pink in colour with medium pink foam.
Palate- Medium body with smooth texture leaving light fruity finish.
Taste- Sweet of fruits and berries such as raspberries, redcurrants, grapes and apples. Followed by light malts.
Overall- Not bad, but rather sweet and alcopop like. Not my jam.
3.4Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 29A). Can 35.5 cl - Batch unknown (BBF unknown - canned on 07.11.18). AROMA: medium raspberry aroma with a slightly sweet background. APPEARANCE: dark pink to light red color and slightly hazy. medium to medium-large light pink head, creamy, with good retention. TASTE: initial medium to medium-high raspberry flavor with a sweet background. low oxidized hop note (dried grass). balances to a medium bitterness with a semi-sweet finish. PALATE: medium to medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: although this beer almost has 1 year on the can, its still nice. demands retasting with a fresher sample.
3.612 oz can, canned on 10/24/18. Pours clear ruby red with a small creamy light pink head that goes to a thin film and leaves little lacing.
The aroma is sweet and slightly tart raspberry with some woody malt.
The flavor is sweet syrupy raspberry with a little dry tartness and some woody malt in the background. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, big raspberry but a little cloying for me.
3.5Can: Aroma and flavor is full of raspberry, sweetness, fruitiness. Pleasant summer drink.
3.5355ml can from Beru Vykhodnoy in Moscow. Pours clear red with a tall pink head. Aroma is raspberry and malt. Taste is light sweet, raspberry jam, malt. Light sour finish.
4.0Strong Berry aroma. Clear red purple in color. Taste is Berry, fruit punch, and tart. Very much like beer juice. I enjoy this.
3.512 ounce can. Pours a dark pink with a half inch light pink head that lasts. Taste is of tart raspberries and malt. Similar aroma. Has a decent body with a sour and tart finish. Overall, quite enjoyable and rather drinkable.
3.6Can from Beer Republic. A hazy ruby/pink coloured pour with a medium pinkish/white head on top. Sweet, fruity, raspberry aroma. Tastes slightly sweet and slightly tart, raspberries all the way. I like it.
3.3Bottle (BBE 9/2017) :Reddish-amber coloured, hazy, visible carbonation, smaller pinkish head, moderate sweet fruity (raspberries, presumably...) nose, accompanied by a delicate aroma of malt and bubble-gum; moderate sweetish flavour, low bitterness, low acidity, medium bodied, both fizzy and soft; mildly lingering sweetish-sourish finish of raspberries with a delicate bitterness in the aftertaste. Not my cup of tea, but surely a well crafted fizz....
3.7Ochutnáno v pivním baru Beers no.1 na ostravské Stodolní. Velmi příjemné ovocné pivo - rozhodně to není žádné limonáda, pivo velmi vyvážené.
3.8(On tap) Clear amber red with big dense off-white head. Lovely raspberry aroma. Very smooth, as I guess you would expect from nitro. Taste is raspberry with light toffee. Very drinkable.

(Bottle) Clear brownish mid red with slight pink tinged white head. Beautiful raspberry aroma with some candy sugar and some slight oak hints. Medium body, silky, slightly syrupy mouthfeel with excellent fine and plentiful carbonation. Flavour is raspberries and sweetness, but done very well. The raspberry tang is pretty well balanced by what seems like candy sugar sweetness; although for my taste the balance is a little too far to sweet. Nevertheless, an excellent fruit beer.
3.3Pours lightly hazy ruby with a two finger, light ruby white head. Aroma is raspberry and caramel. Taste is raspberry and caramel, moving to light tartness. Finish is sour raspberry. A good fruit beer.
