Four Peaks 8th Street Ale

Four Peaks 8th Street Ale

Our award winning 8th Street Ale is based on an English-style "Best Bitter"
which is the most common ale served in British pubs. What makes 8th Street
Ale uncommon is its mellow bitterness and its slightly sweet malt flavor.
It’s aroma is derived from rare, imported Kentish hops, and lots of them.

3.1 3/19/15 from 12 oz bottle. Light sweet malty very mellow not bitter and not much hops taste. Good session beer.
3.2 Draft at the source. Clear golden body with a small white cap. Aromas of pale malts, earthy scents, floral hops. Pretty easy drinking. More malt forward than hoppy. Mild caramel sweetness. Ok...
3.1 On tap at location. Golden with a nice balance. Subtle keys of make and sweetness.
2.9 on draft at the scottsdale location, points off for lameness, a really thin, bottom of the barrel pale ale. Meh, as i said lame,
2.1 Sample tray at Scottsdale location. Very light amber color, yellow at the edges. Thin ring of foam that stays. Bready aroma, with a citrus zest. Bitter. Light malt taste. Thin and watery. Like a hoppy Budweiser. Meh.
2.9 Bottle. Clear copper with a thin ring of a head. Malty and sugary aroma of toffee and candy apple. Sweet with low bitterness, chewy and syrupy buy nicely dense and frothy. Sticky sugar finish, lightly spicy / herbal finishing bitterness. Simple beer in decent shape.
3.3 Tasted on 5/14/13 on draft at the brewpub. Pours lightly hazy amber with an average beige head that slowly recedes to average, sticky lace. The nose is caramelized grapefruit peel with some light bread malt. The flavor is the same, candied grapefruit, light bread malt, and pretty mellow bitterness. The body is just under medium with average carbonation and a medium bitter grapefruit peel finish.
3.0 12 oz bottle to pint glass at the Phoenix Airport. Golden orange appearance. Mild aroma of light herbal hops, pale/pilsner malts and a touch of citrus. Similar flavor, mild, crisp and clean with a light to medium body. Pretty boring, but easy to drink.
3.6 On tap at brewery in Tempe. Golden color, nice English hop aroma. Very good biscut flavor with hoppy finish. Very nice brew.
2.9 Bottle. The look is bronze copper in color. Thinner white head. The smell is hops, florals, malt, and caramel. The taste is much the same just sorta ho hum.
2.7 A very weak aroma of hops dried fruit and malt. Good looking caramel colour with a short lasting white head. Taste of malt and dried fruit. Watery feel with a sweet malt finish.
3.5 Bottle on the terrace. Light copper, spicy hop on the nose. Good balance of bready malt with floral hops. Very clean, dry finish. Reminds me of a Boston Lager in terms of that unmatched drinkability and great balance.
4.6 A damn solid easy drinking pale ale. Just enough hops and malt. A good choice for the summer.
3.6 Bottle at airport in Phoenix. Pour avg gold. Nose slight dank hop, some floral hop, and crystal malt. Taste cleaner malt flavors up front and hop bitterness. Some pine. Mid palate light bitter. Overall fairly pleasing. The fact that it is 940am and I slammed the beer may have aided my rating
3.5 Location: Draft at the Production Facility Tasting Room, 3/8/14 Aroma: The aroma has some citrus hop, floral notes, and some malts as well Appearance: This one pours a golden color with a decent sized white head Flavor: Tastes much the same, a balanced flavor, light sweetness, and a medium bitterness Palate: The body is medium, it has a solid mouthfeel, and a mid-dry finish Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid one. It was not a favorite beer for me, but I had no problem with it overall.
3.5 Draft in a taster at the Wilson Taproom. Pours a clear copper-gold with a small white head. Notes of grassy, earthy hops, toasted and biscuit and caramel malts, straw - another simple one, and another effective one. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a crisp, earthy mouthfeel. Reading the description, I never would’ve guessed over 3.2 on this one. But it’s good.
4.2 Not a bad beer. Inoffensive. Wouldn't mind it being more "slippery" per the style. But available widely and good.
3.3 Bottle. Medium copper/amber pour with a nice off white head. Huge fruit and toffee in the aroma, followed by biscuit. Nice and easy drinking. Fruity hops, grain, and caramel. Session beer city.
2.8 Bottle from BevMo, Phoenix. Grassy aroma with notes of malt and hops. Pours a very light caramel color with a very light, white head and no lacing. Strong grassy flavor with subtle malt undertones. Finishes dry, refreshing with a touch of bitterness at the end. Pretty good.
3.5 Backlog, from notes. On tap @ the brewpub, 18 May 2001. Copper/red color. Lots of aroma, notably malts & grain, . Flavor is light sweet and fruity, with a pleasant bitterness. Not extreme, but well balanced.
3.5 Bottle at Hilton Phoenix. Pours a hazy gold with beihe head leaving somew lace. Nose is grass and apricot and grapefruit. Mostly sweet malts and citrus with a mild bitterness. Medium mouth and carbonation.
3.3 On tap @ Tempe location. Pours a clear light amber with an off white head. Aroma is bitter fruit, sweet malt, citrus and light flora hints. Taste is sweet malt, grapefruit juice, lemon, bitter hops and wheat. Very balance medium bodied beer.
3.4 Pours clear light amber with a nice small off white lacing head. Aroma is fruity a bit sweet malty and citric. Flavor is malty sweetish fruity citric a bit grapefruit and grainy. Nice hoppy finish.
3.2 Some light hops to the aroma, fairly faint. This is kind of ho-hum to me. It has some hops but faint and mostly it atastes like a beer with body but without any real distinct flavor to it. A light sweetness in the finish.
3.0 Clear, medium brons, lasting dense head. Aroma is a little soapy and flora. Clean, but bland. Starchy, a little cereal. On tap, brewpub, Tempe.
4.6 This is my favorite Four Peaks beer, especially when it in a cask. The brew houses rotate casks weekly, so you never know what they will have. 8th Street is a really nice, full bodied beer with a hoppy finish and great color and aroma. They would sell a lot of this in a more hoppy region of the country, but not as much in AZ.
2.8 12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cold. Aroma: Sweetish hop. Citrus. Lemon. Malt. Appearance: Hazy translucent yellow-orange body with a light and foamy white head. Taste: Mildly sweet malt with a little bit of citrus-y hop bitterness to balance it out. Palate: Light bodied. Easy to drink. Short finish. Overall: A nice beer, I just prefer mine to have more body, character, and depth. This guy is straightforward; sweetish malt, and lemony hop in a dry ale.
3.2 Btl. Pours hazy copper color with fluffy off white head that lingers for quite some time. Nice lacing on glass. Light malty sweet smell. Nice floral clean hop aroma. A faint hint of vanilla in the nose. Tastes of honey and caramel with a nice bite at the end. Smooth nice balanced bitter. Good easy drinking beer.
2.7 Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Hotel glass (~1/3 pint) From: A Chevron in Tempe, Ariz. Price: $8.99 for mixed 6-pack Purchased: May 15, 2013 Consumed: May 15, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a caramel, copper, dark urine-like clear color with 1-2 fingers of khaki-white head. Plenty of foamy layered lacing on the sides. Pretty good retention on the top. Smelled honey malts up front. Also wheat, hay and grass with a touch of lemon coming through. Honey heavy for the most part though. Faint sugary floral hops come in late. Tasted like a lighter version than the smell. Honey, wheat, grass with bitterness on the tongue after. Fairly bland. Light body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish. Nothing special about this beer. Pretty average all around.
3.8 12oz bottle. Honey-colored, little head fades off, clear beer. Really nice aroma, nutty and sweet. Nice palate, plenty complex, toffee and malty notes, plenty of linger. Good tasting notes, much better quality than I was expecting.
