Fourpure Pils Lager

Fourpure Pils Lager

Keg, can & bottle; Regular.

This is our take on a traditional German Pilsner. Generously hopped with a blend of Hallertauer and Saaz and fermented with a classic Bavarian yeast. Inspired by Munich, and our cycling adventures through Germany and the Czech Republic.

3.7 330 ml can,bb 21/01/2018. Straw,clear. Nose - lemon zest,bread. Taste - same as nose plus a bit of sweetness.
3.4 Ever so slightly hazy, pale gold with a nice frothy white head. Aromas of light hay malts, some floral and grass too. Well bodied, thick texture, slightly lively carbonation. A very enjoyable and good example of a pilsner.
3.4 Can on the train. A pleasant German style pils, with plenty of malt and a true "German flavour" to the beer. Chunky, a bit of interest on the palate and very tasty. It's not spectacular, but it is a solid interpretation of the style and a pleasant beer.
3.7 From can, small white head, yellow/golden colour, clear. Aroma: berries, raisins, plums. Lightly bitter taste, medium body, long finish, lively. Not bad.
3.3 Can from Tesco. Decent balance of some sweetness and bitter hop. Somewhat corny. Enjoyable pils.
2.6 330ml can. Tried a few years ago and thought it was ok. Pours clear straw, white head. Aroma is light bread, spices, white pepper and an overpowering rotten lime. Taste malt wise is decent and the Saaz hop is there, but whatever hop or yeast strain that is producing this taste of an old wedge of rotten lime is horrible. Doesn’t work for me.
3.1 Slightly sweet floral lager. Straw colour and pretty refreshing beer. Slight dryness at the end. Pleasent
3.0 Grassy citric aroma, little head, transparent yellow in colour. Soft carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, gentle hops, but possible dry hopping which I personally hate in a pils. Citrus hops dominate a thin beer. Another example of a craft beer fail when it comes to lager brewing. It’s too sweet to be refreshing. Not bad but again, leave this style to the Germans and Czechs who are better at doing lagers.
3.5 330ml can (4.7%; bb 29 Dec 2017) at home on 11 Jul 2017, from M & S Simply Food, Haymarket Station, Edinburgh, floral, pale malty, light grain aroma, golden with a short-lived bubbly white head, hay, pale malty, grain flavour, sweet, gentle fizz.
2.8 Can from tesco refreshing enough hint of smoked cheese suprisingly ok pilsner.
3.1 Tap at Bull & Last @ Hampstead on 24/06/2017. Aromas of malts, grass and citrus notes. Clear pale golden body and white head. Taste is malts with a citrus finish and a hoppy touch. Well balanced and refreshing!
3.0 Aroma of grain straw with notes of malty base. Clear golden in the glass with frothy off-white. Taste is semi dry with tough grainy base, some malts and touch of hops. Bit of herbal background. I’ve expected more, forgettable, but refreshing.
1.4 Very pale golden body with an off-white, creamy and long-lived head that laces the glass well. Moderate aroma of pale malts, sewer and faint rubber. Ouch. Something’s have gone wrong here! Moderate flavour of pale malts, citrus and extremely unpleasant rubber. Light sweet and light bitter taste. Light and dry mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. I managed to take four sips before this disaster went into the sink. Hopefully a very bad can. [33 cl can, enjoyed 4 months before BB date, from M&S Paddington]
3.3 Boks delt med Ovesen på Holmens aktivitetsdag: klar, lys strågul med ok skum. Citrus, lys malt og friske urter - en lys og meget lettdrikkelig terrassepils denne flotte maidagen. Mild, floral bitterhet i ettersmaken.
3.6 Can shared with JMD at HNB 06.05.17. Clear pale golden. Small white head. Aroma and taste of meadows, fresh hops and succade. Good!
3.0 Clear golden color with a fine white head. Nice lacing. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a fine carbonation level. Herbal, malty and mild citric flavor. Nice crisp pilsner. [The greateranglia train session Feb 17 – Ipswich to Chelmsford]
3.0 Can, four months before bbd. Pours clear light yellow, with a big creamy head. Aroma is crisp, floral hops, and light malts with cereals and honey. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is floral and citrusy hops, with minerals and soapy notes, as well as a nice malty back with cereals and honey. Decent, but not very exciting in any way.
3.3 Clear, golden colored, small white head. Aroma is of malt, grains, some sulphur, lightly fruity, bit straw and grassy herbal notes. Taste is of pils malt, grainy, some suplhury notes, bit buttery, medium bitterness, bit fruity, grassy and strawy hops, bit bready, dry finish. Medium- bodied, zesty, average+ carbonation, bit creamy. A decent pils. (can from Fourpure brewery, London)
3.2 Draught at Taphouse. Clear golden colored with a small white head. Malty aroma of hay, grass and hops. Malty flavor of hay, hops and grass. Hoppy finish.
3.3 From tap at Taphouse. A clear golden coloured beer with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, hops, fruit, straw and with a bitter finish.
3.5 Draft. A golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, hops, and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, bread, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.
3.0 (33 cl can from Boxbeers; BBD: August 15th 2017) Poured into a Chios pint glass reveals a clear piss golden body with one finger of white fluffy head that stays around for a few minutes and then fades leaving film and lace. Aroma is pilsener-style with notes of Hallertau and hints of sulphur and grain. Watery texture, lively carbonation, light body and a short, crisp finish that is well balanced and clean. Decent pilsner execution. Can’t say the style excites me that much - at least not as it’s expressed in most of the German tradition.
3.5 Can from the brewery in Bermonsdey, London (UK). Clear yellow colour with small white head. Aroma is cereal, some citrus, herbs notes. Taste citrus, bread, malts.
2.8 Fourpure Pils Pilsener 545410 Lukt: Humle og malt. Utseende: Gyllen. Skum/kullsyre: Tynt skum. Smak: Humle og malt. Hvor: NMBCo, Sandnes. Medium: Tapp@250ml, ABV@4,7%, Når@10.03.2017
2.9 330ml can kindly shared by Cunningham. Close to clear yellow-gold body. Filmy white layer, clingy lacing. Smooth lemony hops on the nose. taste of pale malts, grain and noble hops. Subdued bittersweet ending. Decent thirst quencher (On the train from Chelmsford to Norwich 18.02.2017).
3.1 Tap at Before 9. Clear golden color with a low, fine head. Crisp grainy malt nose, crackers, nice noble hops. Good nose. Flavor is strangely medicinal, though, soapy, cleaning fluid, grass. Weird. Crisp and nice body but the flavor is hugely incongruous with the great nose.
3.2 Tap at Before 9. Great grainy aroma with a somewhat disappointing flavor due to a slightly medicinal aftertaste but other then that it is a solid malt forward pils.
3.1 Can. Strong yellow with a cloud of a white head. Nose is full of cereal notes with a light lemon. Taste is very light, but imparts some nice wheatiness. Would be a good summer day drinker. Not bland and "lagery", but has a bit of crunch to it.
2.9 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Przyzwoity lager w niemieckim stylu.
3.3 Bottle. Clear Pale Yellow in colour. Good foamy white head. Good lacing. Malty; bready malts, toasty, caramel notes. Hoppy; grassy hops, herbal notes. Spicy; peppery. Fruity; citrus lemon. Slightly metallic taste. Sweet-bitter malty and hoppy. Quite dry throughout. Very drinkable. (2016-05-24)
